posted a message on Budget Mech Pallidan Advice???

I've been running a mid-range mech paladin on ladder. I included the secret package with mine, so a little different. I would say generally the mech paladin is a bit hit or miss. Control Warlock is almost an auto lose for my deck, but I find rogue generally a good matchup.

Your Mechano-Egg might be a bit slow if you're looking to be more rush. Which your deck does appear to favor rush with the Knife Juggler and Dire Wolf Alpha

Overall, I think they can get some wins with this, if they can't keep up the rush pressure you can fairly easily convert to mid-range. I find the mechs feel a bit slow so I tend to make mid-rangie decks with them.

posted a message on Looking for a funny deck!

I don't have a solid list for you, but the tog-waggle decks I think are super funny. Both Druid, and the warrior one where you use explore ungoro and Skulking Geist. They aren't super high win rate decks, but it is funny when you pull off the crazy combos.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I went to wild since it seems that where to play shaman. Messing around with even shaman at the moment. Huge winrate right now. Since I primarily play standard I was down at rank 25 in wild, so easy wins. Double bonus the meta in wild feels way more fresh than standard right now.

I played control Warlock and my Opponent played mage. EVERY single turn he was roping me and since we are both control it took many turns. This is just very annoying to play against - any plans of Blizzard that will prevent stuff like that from happening?

Simple solution: dont play cancer decks that upset people like CubeLock

I've been roped even when playing completely off meta decks, some people just want to watch the rope burn.

Neat! I haven't tried even or odd with Shaman yet. I'll have to check that out.

I've thought about face Shaman, I do regret not getting the wins back when Aggro Shaman was a beast. Good to hear it is an option in wild.

Shaman is my last class to get "gold" in. What fun, and somewhat reliable decks, do you guys recommend for Shaman?

I need about 200 more wins, so I don't want to play something with too low of a winrate. My current deck is a Shudderwock and the winrate average is around 25%.

posted a message on Who do/did you watch to improve in Hearthstone?

My favorite current streamers are Savjz and Amaz. Savjz will often play tweaks on meta decks, or more complicated off meta decks.

When I was first learning I watched a lot of tournament streams, and jumped between many random streamers. I found it most helpful to watch someone playing either a deck I had problems beating, or a deck I wanted to get better at. HSReplay lists the popular meta decks and links the twitch streamers who are playing that deck at the time. Often the streamers aren't the big personalities, but watching another players decision making on a specific deck is super helpful.

Not streams but I also really like Trump and Trolden you tube videos. Especially Trumps value evaluation of cards. Trolden is mostly just comedy, but the "spot the lethal" segments remind me to think outside the box rather than just conceding.

posted a message on New Hunter Spell - Dire Frenzy

It will be interesting to see what happens to hunter after this expansion. Hunter doesn't have any major board clear, heal, or draw these types of cards look strong, but it will take a bit to make them work.

Will the meta slow down so much that beast hunter can run this and actually draw the buffed cards? Emeriss and Dire Frenzy are both cards that strike me as slower cards. It would be really fun to be able to play them.

Shaman is one of the last classes I still need to gold, so I'm holding out hope that the rotation of cards out leaves other classes weak enough that control shaman has a place.

posted a message on My matchup stats seem to be a bit off... Advice please?

Sounds like you know what to do then. :)

It is possible a lot of your warlock matches have been unlucky. I personally don't tech against Skull of the Man'ari if they get that out on turn 5 that would be bad, and make the match a lot harder. The only other thing to watch out for would be using too many of your damage spells to clear minions.
As for being stuck at rank 3. I've been bouncing around ranks 5-1 all month. To get legend this season I actually played 3 different decks, I only switched to Mage after i noticed how many warlocks and priests I was playing that  specific day. In 12 matches I played 5 Priests, 5 Warlocks, 1 Mage, 1 Paladin, so I swapped to mage from Spell hunter and went on a really good win streak. I'm personally a proponent of playing a couple of different decks to get there.
Good Luck! The way I see it, if I can get there so can you!

posted a message on My matchup stats seem to be a bit off... Advice please?

Secret Mage is what I switched to in order to get into legend this season. Warlocks were absolutely my best match up, here is my Warlock strategy:

Keep the "typical" mulligan cards, except don't prioritize Explosive Runes. You actually want Counterspell and Potion of Polymorph  I also always keep Aluneth no matter what match up.

For the first bit this plays out normally, drop your Kabals, Mana Wyrms, and Archanologists. Be careful with  Explosive Runes. If you think the next card might be a cube or lackey hold onto Explosive Runes, unless their health is really low and you have lethal ready.

Turns 5 and 6 are turning points for Control Warlock and Cubelock, they want to drop their Possessed Lackey or Skull to get their free demons. By turn 5 you want to have Potion of Polymorph  in place to sheep their lackey. Conversely if your polymorph gets popped early Counterspell  can stop the Dark Pact. Playing around Lackey and dark pact is priority 1, make sure you very carefully use your secrets.

If you can Counterspell  their 1st Dark Pact and delay their demons with Potion of Polymorph, you should be able to "just go face" by turn 7.

posted a message on March Ladder Rant

Nah, you're not alone. You're saying what I've felt like all month. I've been bouncing around in ranks 5-1 since March 5th. My experiences mirror your own, except with different decks. What I've found in these ranks is that there is a lot of fluctuation in the meta. The changes can be daily, especially if a popular streamer cooks up a tweak on a deck.

If you check out the meta breakdown on hsreplay.net, click into rank 1-5, then drill down into rank 2 and rank 1 individually. The top teir decks shift a bit, and the play percentages of each deck changes. I've been checking out those stats regularly to reality check when I put on the tinfoil hat after a chain of losses or weird matches.

Anecdotally, early in the month my primary opponents were secret mage and pallidude decks.  Now, most Paladin opponents I face tend to be murloc and mages are either secret or control. Warlocks also have shifted from cube or control to control or zoo for me. I also found that I would go on really long losing streaks, usually I'll climb up to 1 or 2 then lose a bunch all the way back down to 5. As I understand it, this is how climbing to legend goes, try to keep your head up. One thing that keeps me from going on tilt is that next season's climb will benefit from this season.

    My Stats:
    Opponent Percentage Breakdown: March 1 - 16, Ranks 6-1, across 166 games:

    • Mage: 18%
    • Warlock: 22%
    • Priest:18%
    • Paladin: 20%
    • other: 22%

    Opponent Percentage Breakdown: March 17 - 23, Ranks 5-1, across 73 games:

    • Mage:23.2%
    • Warlock: 21.9%
    • Priest: 8.2%
    • Paladin:20.5%
    • Other: 26.2%

posted a message on Rotation Bucket List - What Decks do You Believe are a Must Play Before Rotation

Are there any decks about to die that you believe are a must play? They don't have to be Tier 1 decks this season, just fun decks that can't be played in standard after the new season begins.

My bucket list recommendation is Mill Rogue. I used to hate mill until I tried it. It rarely happens but when you mill a key component of Exodia mage or another such deck it always brings a smile to my face.
