I'm not sure what you mean by that. The latest from Vicious Syndicate shows everything coming closer together rather than having a couple really good decks and then a bunch of bad decks.

potato_beleren posted a message on Do you like the current Standard meta?Posted in: Standard FormatEvery single top deck serves as a free win versus another top deck. In tournaments, you can set up a line up regarding this strategy that can play to your strengths. On ladder however, it becomes elaborate coin-flipping. Certain match-ups are just unwinnable, examples being Rogue versus Freeze Mage, or Freeze Mage versus Jade Druid. What I mean is, too many decks are strong right now, and almost regardless of how good of a player you are, wins are match-up dependent instead of skill dependent. -

robpcom3 posted a message on Do you like the current Standard meta?Posted in: Standard FormatWhy don't you put a poll? A lot of people seem to like this meta but I for one am sick of matches being decided by matchups instead of decisions in the match. If you play slower deck that can't clear a board of 5/5s, you are dead to quest rogue, just for example. The rock paper scissors nature makes a lot of games stale, you might as well put them on autopilot. I am trying out other card games for the first time because I find hearthstone so disappointing.

Don't release this Brawl again. Instead, make it a permanent addition to Arena (Heroic Arena). Maybe tinker with admission and prizes a bit. Make it a permanent but optional thing that doesn't intersect with TB again.

This. The main problem with this community is the majority of it only gives a shit about their own opinion. So, they come here and post it and then flame or down vote people who have a differing one. And, of course, their overwhelming sense of entitlement. As if Blizzard owes us something. -

I don't mind Blizz making a money grab now and then either. Good for them.
Ok, I talked myself into it. I don't participate in this brawl, nor do I watch the streamers play them, but, I can see how it's good for the game, therefore I support it.

One_Man_Army posted a message on Group therapy! Need to blow off steam? Mega salty? Here is the place!Posted in: General DiscussionPeople who still complain about pirate warrior are pathetic. YOU HAVE COUNTERS FOR IT!
STB got nerfed, we got Golakka Crawler, we got Ooze that gives you armor, you have taunt, you have heal, you have AoEs and you still fucking complain??!! At least you have a chance to win a game somehow. Well guess what, there is NO counter for Quest Rogue, and don't get me startin' with that Dirty Rat bullshit. Pirate warrior did not permanently kill deck archtypes. It's disgusting how that card still exists! And you wanna know the reason people are playing Pirate Warrior? Because it's the only way you can beat Quest Rogue -hyper aggro decks! Yeah nice game indeed. There is no scenario in which any form of control deck beats Quest Rogue, it's a design space destroyer! Hell, not even Elemental Shaman has ANY chance of beating it even though it's midrange deck.

I normally don't play aggro decks but if I encounter a streak of greedy players (or the same greedy player consecutively) on ladder outvaluing whatever I happened to be playing, I would play a few games with an aggro deck and attempt to punish these guys. It feels super good when I catch one of them
I wouldn't play aggro decks for for extended periods though. Not because I think it's #*$@ cancer but because it gives me anxiety. You often need to play into board clears and other cards because it's the correct line of play. Getting punished by a card that you identified as a card that would wreck you but didn't play around because it would be not correct FeelsBadMan

Jade druid classically does well against Control decks and badly against face decks, so druid doesn't need the additional mill to help against reno decks badly enough to justify adding some cards that are very bad against everything else. Even though Naturalize and Mulch are both hard removal, you wouldn't want to sub one for the other because face shamans, dragon warrior, Rogue, etc would thank you for the extra cards. I can imagine a mill druid with these cards and 1x jade idol to stop yourself from fatiguing but that would be a different archetype altogether
Baron Geddon used to be a very good control tool and it was used in druid in the Karazhan era. Unfortunately, the gameplan of aggro decks in MSG is to dominate the board early on, then concede the board and burn the face with spells and weapons in the midgame. I had games where I would have board control on turn 4-5 then die because I failed to draw taunt or feral rage while the opponent weaponed me down. Even if you could ramp Geddon out on turn 4, I feel that it's too late for board control to matter. I've seen tournaments where Reno decks just die with Reno in their hand because the pirate deck had turn 5 lethal
I don't have Kun so I haven't tried him but I don't think you can fit him in jade druid. Against aggro if you reached 10 mana, you've already won unless you're out of cards. Aggro games don't typically last that long because ramped out minions kills your opponent surprisingly quickly when they're weaponing taunts with their face and not bothering to defend themselves. Against control, you're already favored. I suppose it would be nice to slam a 7/7 along with your nourish or azure drake but that would make it just a 0 mana 7/7, which would make it an arcane giant.

I believe rogue jade cards were meant to be synergistic. You can raptor your jade swarmer and bring 3 jade cards back with N'zoth. With luck and Brann, your golems can get big enough to rival a jade shaman's.
Also, jade druid technically has "infinite" jade cards. Your argument is invalid Kappa

I reached legend last season with Jade druid. Compared to your list I had - Brann, -2x raven idol, +1x Wild Growth, +1x Ancient of war, -1x Azure drake, +2x Druid of the claw. This was my anti aggro list
The first meta I faced was pirate heavy and the extra taunts helped stave off the pirate onslaught. I experimented with doomsayers early on but it turns out muster for pirates can kill a turn 2 doomsayer reasonably often and it's a dead card if drawn later in the matchup, unlike druid of the claw, which takes out a few pirates on it's way down and prevents weapon/minion lethal later on. Doomsayer turned out to be a surprisingly good card vs Kabal Reno decks and Druid mirror but there are better tech cards you could use
Around ranks 6-3, Renolocks with ooze were crushing pirates out of the meta. Vs Renolock, I changed : -2x Druid of the Claw, +2x Mulch. One of the few things that kill you are big minions that you can't swipe off the board, failing to play around MC tech and running out of cards
Rogues were dominant from ranks 3-legend. I changed -2x Ancient of war, +2 druid of the claw. Wars were faring poorly against sap but I kept the mulches in to clean up questings and Edwins
Brann and second drake are just too slow against aggro. Against a reno deck, Brann activates MC tech and their fat minions aren't very swipeable even with spellpower. I used to run two raven idols to discover hard removal or healing in the relevant matchups but they were far too inconsistent. Mulch is surprisingly good and has a target (Drakonoid crusher, 7/7, Rag) in every meta deck except pirate warrior and perhaps dragon priest.

One thing to note about meta reports is that the "best" decks may not necessarily be the most popular where you are on the ladder nor be the most powerful deck outside of a vacuum
Last season on EU, I only experienced the expected pirate spam up to around rank 6, at which point everyone was either playing Renolock, Dragon warrior or other decks with ooze. Powering through ranks 6-4 with face warrior or shaman would have been a masochistic endeavor. Rogues started showing up around rank 3 onwards to legend to farm the Renolocks. Then pirate decks crept back in around rank 2 because people stopped teching ooze
Analyze your meta and try to play decks that make sense in it. Ideally, you should have at least 2 decks ready to ladder with. You can also tech in cards to make popular matchups more favorable
Luckily for you, dragon priest and face shaman have very different matchups. I would start with face shaman since it has more raw power of the two. If you start running into a lot of weapon removal or midrange shamans, you can switch to priest. Add ooze if you find lots of pirates, cut 7/7 if you find lots of rogue, etc. Pray to Yogg that you never find a Renolock meta
I would not recommend a player who worries about missplaying decks like Miracle Rogue or Reno Kabal. Though very powerful, they are one of the hardest to master. Curvestone decks like dragon priest is a good starting place
