This is true for any Malygos Druid. At least this deck tries to stop early attackers with Oaken Summons and Ironwood Golems. I do think this deck is a bit greedy without Naturalize (I'd get rid of Starfall and a Giggling Inventor for 2 of em) but it is better when the meta is more control, especially against Control Warlock (since the deck has more creature targets and less card loss from Skulking Geist).
I'm glad that you took out Ooze and put in Soulthief. There are many instances where you just have dead removal in your hand or no cards at all so replacing your hand is very effective, especially against Control Warlock.
Most of the Meta I'm facing right now is Control Warlock and Deathrattle Hunter which are very hard matchups (I went from Rank 4 back to 0 stars at 5).
The biggest weakness I've found is that without Dr. Boom this deck really struggles. I played several games in a row where I didn't draw Boom at all or was very late to draw. You absolutely need Boom to discover a mech to keep tempo going because the deck doesn't really have any big minions.
This deck is designed to win by your opponent expending all his resources or messing up their combo, which is great against control and aggro. It just sucks because so much of the meta is midrange.
After playing quite a few games with this deck, it's very versatile but against OTK decks like Mecha'thun, Shudderwock, and Togwaggle it's pretty much a loss unless you've got luck on your side. It can suffer from Malygos Druid too if he pulls off Alex and you can't armor up enough if he keeps putting down threats you can't deal with; Boom is a gamble too since you lose the chance to armor up every turn.
Why do you think Whirliglider would be good synergy for a control deck? The deathrattle only does 2 damage to the face and you have to use Defile or Hellfire to set it off. Sure, it can help with Defile but I think there are better 2 drops like Doomsayer, Plated Beetle, etc. that would work better with this deck.
I've tried Dread Infernal in the past with Evenlock and have found it to be too slow. I think at least 1 Doomsayer is better for earlier removal or just another chance to clear the entire board later. I suggest Ooze against upcoming Malygos Druid and Hunter. Spellbreaker is always good to have just in case and it's at least a 4/3 body if you can't use it. I'm not sure about Twisting Nether because I never used it in Evenlock in lieu of Lich King and the Doomsayers often do the job. I do think Skulking Geist will definitely be a must with the previous and new 1 mana spells coming out, especially to counter Malygos Mecha'thun
Jade Druid is more viable against control since the introduction of Earthen Scales. Not only can your opponent gain 20+ armor easily if used correctly (which is insane because Control Warrior can't even gain that much armor) , but it's a great combo piece with Gadgetzan Auctioneer, especially since the loss of Living Roots and Raven Idol to Wild.
Therefore, Jade Druid becomes even harder to deal with. You now have to face an inevitable giant army but also have enough damage to take on those huge armor gains. So, you need decks that can deal and generate a lot of burn or put on a lot of early pressure and keep building tempo to kill before they build up (control mage and super aggro/midrange).
Well, the card helped me to get to Legend. There's Doomhammer as a replacement, but I find Doomhammer to be better in more aggro Shaman where you're really just trying to get damage to the face. In this midrange deck, you're looking for tempo/board control as you don't really have burst damage. I found Al'Akir great as it helped me to remove a minion or two, especially with Rockbiter, and it often lived to stay behind as a taunt. To me, Al'Akir IS for removal so that's why I didn't play him immediately and only used him to answer the board or when my opponent had little to zero cards left and no board.
I've been playing Hearthstone since it was publicly released, but I've never got legend....UNTIL NOW! Thanks to this deck, I finally made Legend on the last day of the season!
The meta right now is so heavy with Dragon Warrior, but Shaman counters its tempo so well.
The only changes I made to the deck were removing 1x Azure Drake and 1x Flamewreathed Faceless and replaced them with 1x Argent Squire and 1x Stormcrack. I found that if I didn't draw my Troggs or Golems early, I would lose to tempo. There were also a couple of times where I was awkwardly sitting with 2x Drakes or Faceless in my hand and I'm losing to board control. Squire helps with tempo and board control while Stormcrack was great additional removal against big minions/taunt.

I'm with Techno. It might not claim to be a revolutionary deck, but I think it's funny that he put the name on the deck when it's just a single substitute card. Makes me think of all the hunter decks that have been posted with 1 or 2 cards different saying how their version got to legend. Well, yeah, tweaking a card here and there doesn't change a whole of lot strategy from the deck.
Like this deck for instance. He says to play it more taunt heavy. That's no different than playing standard Handlock or trying to protect another good card with the same mana cost aka Emperor.
So this is Handlock that subs BGH for Siphon, subs Dr. Boom for Fizzle, and Fizzle gives Handlock just an extra boost with its tempo due to cheap heavy minions with great stats or a cheap Shadowflame/Siphon target. Other than that, you play this as you would a standard Handlock deck; it's just that HL is stronger now due to this card. Personally, I'd sub one Hellfire for Boom and see how that works.

I can understand the Oozes, but what about MCT? Why not sub one of those for Tar Creeper?

I was experimenting with a similar deck earlier. What do you think about:
-1 Sunfury Protector, -1 Plated Beetle, -2 Dread Infernal
+2 Doomsayer (or +1 Doomsayer and +1 Acidic Swamp Ooze), +1 Spellbreaker, +1 Skulking Geist

Nice deck, going to try it tonight and I'll let you know the results. I'm curious to see how this deck does without secrets.

Shades are great for building tempo with this deck because of how it pairs well with combo and playing defensively.
Try subbing:
Druid of the Flame
Mind Control Tech
Ogre Brute

Mech Mages suffer from tempo loss later in the game if you can keep up with clearing their board early on it's a sure win.
For this deck:
Go for opening hand: Innervate (pairs well with Shredder, Druid of the Claw, Belcher), Wrath, Swipe, Shade
If you're facing lots of Mech, I'd substitute the Ooze for a Zombie Chow and Drake for another Belcher
Chuggers should be dealt with Wraths and Shades, and if you're lucky to innervate to Shredder, DotC, or Belcher turn 2 or 3 , that would work too.
Spider Tanks are best with Swipes, Wrath+Hero Power, Shredder, and DotC.
