posted a message on [Deck] Hadronox Taunt Druid

Hex absolutely destroys this deck. It 1. Removes a good taunt from your pool. (Like Lich King) That can’t be resummoned. 2. It’s a taunt so fills your board with useless stuff. And most importantly 3. Is a beast so commonly gets resummoned by witching hour which is generally an instant loss if that happens.

2 hexes prior to the first naturalize into witching hour makes that first witching hour only have a 20% chance to summon hadronox.

I’ve never lost to it on my even shaman. I’d have to draw extremely poorly to lose.

The rng of Burgle Rogue can be so frustrating when it hits something very powerful. Had a Hagatha played against me while playing my even shaman. That felt awful.

I’ve definitely, in my even shaman, summoned a Totem on 1, played cryostasis on 2, and can have that 3/5 Totem attack on 3.

posted a message on Is Hearthstone more high roll based than it used to be?

    Quote from Raskolnikow92 >>

I disagree. Firstly, drawing a certain card is immanent to every card game, so there is no real reason to argue about it unless we’re arguing about hearthstone mechanics, deck size and possible numbers of duplicates in a deck. Of course it’s good to draw a certain card early, but that was always the case, e.g. Mana wyrm, Reno or Justicar (control warrior mirror matchups were most often decided by the fact who drew Justicar first).

Secondly, cards like Spiteful Summoner aren’t highroll because your deck was built to get only high cost spells. Getting a Tyrantus might seem lucky, but there are only 5 different 10-mana drops, so your chance of getting a tyrantus is pretty high (20%).

Lastly, I think that especially Ungoro was a “high roll” expansion because of cards like primordial glyph but now they changed it a little bit, for example Baku/Genn who’ll give you instant benefits without the need of being drawn.

Spiteful is highroll not in the “rng” of what minion in pulls, it’s highroll in how powerful the card is in its deck. And whether or not you draw it.
The win rate of spiteful decks is heavily tied to when it’s drawn. And 12/12 worth of stats at minimum on turn 5/6 possibly will do that.
Im not really complaining per say, I’m just curious if the win rate of high roll decks currently like Spiteful decks has as much variation in them as, say, Reno decks and mysterious challenger.

Sometimes when I use Cryostasis on my 0 attack totems it will immediately unfreeze them and I can attack with them next turn. Other times they are frozen for the full duration. Why is this happening?

posted a message on Is Hearthstone more high roll based than it used to be?

There are a lot of decks right now that have an incredibly high win % swing based on if certain cards are drawn early.

Spiteful Summoner pulling a Tyrantus on 6 for instance vs not even drawing Spiteful until over 1/2 way through the deck.

How early does Frost Lich Jaina get drawn in elemental Mage?

How fast can kingsbane Rogue buff up their weapon with deadly poison and life steal?

Are situations like these though more or less common compared to previous metas in Hearthstone? Were high roll situations just as prevelant previously?

posted a message on Top Five Highest Win-Rate Witchwood Decks

Aggro decks early on always have an inflated win rate because it takes awhile for the strategy of the more controlling decks to get settled. When to hold onto removal and when to use it vs a specific deck takes awhile.

Iirc spell hunter was extremely high up for first couple weeks of K&C and then fell down

posted a message on What Direction did you go with Minion Mage?

The problem I think with minion Mage, like all minion decks, is it requires you to have the board. But it just doesn’t have enough overstatted minions to get it and keep it.

Theres Baku Paladin getting 2 dudes out at once, Rush warrior destroys your board and makes their own at the same time, even shaman has an incredibly powerful early game with cheap totems (cryofreeze is hilariously powerful), zap, and that eel.

Mage just can’t get the board against that.

posted a message on Genn Greymane: broken and useless

Tbh, I feel like, except for warrior, Even decks are just better than Odd ones because you don’t hit your hero power enough at 2 cost for it to be worth it (unless you aren’t changing much with your deck anyways).

The tempo of hero powering on 1 with Paladin and shaman is amazing. You are guaranteed to be ahead on board.

also, while weak to silence (though the silence needs drawn early), Totem cruncher as a turn 4 8/9 taunt is extremely hard to deal with without silence or Polymorph/hex.

posted a message on The Meta has ONLY 3 Decks?

I’ve been having quite the success with even shaman. The eel and 6/7 Totem muncher on 4 really help you control early game and then you get to hagatha and win through value. Idk where it’ll be in the meta but it feels good. Hard to get rushed down with such powerful early game.

posted a message on Genn Greymane: broken and useless

I’ve had some pretty good early success with my even shaman. 1 mana cost totems are just overwhelming since they are a pain to get rid of. That Eel also is so good (ofc).

Tbh, the fact that it doesn’t work with DKs isn’t that much of a drawback. The power of cheaper hero powers is in the early and mid game. Not the endgame.

posted a message on Is Shudderwock actually good? If so, how can we beat Shudderwock consistently

First, no matter how powerful it is, that animation length needs fixed. Even if this is nerfed it’ll be in meme decks.

I think maybe just having it not work with Lifedrinker and nightblade will solve the OTK problem.

Again, it’s not the power of the deck that’s at issue, it’s the insane length of the combo.
