I would if i had it, but the truth is, the aggro that effects me is the face hunter aggro. always when i play face hunter aggro i'm stuck with crap in my hand when i know for a fact i have 4 really solid low taunts in my deck and i have 4 aoes removals from 5-6. The excavates are mainly for things like patron though
So i'm working this deck, Its fun which is a plus but i'm stuck in the cancer zone of hearthstone which is rank 20-15 where there are bunch of anti meta weird decks that you don't know what you are playing against so its very difficult to consistently win matches unless i stomp.
Do you see flaws in general consistency? i only play 1 technician because i play the 2 curators and i only play corrupter because i have plenty of 5 drops already.
Most of the time the deck struggles with aggro when i Don't draw a decent starting hand. As the game progresses i usually fair better once i hit my removals.
Win condition is generally board control and beat face for as much as possible, boom is in the deck to add a strong post 7 drop.
The combo win Condition is thaurissan using his ability while you have 2x smite in your hand and mind blast. but thats just a win condition, you can always out heal certain aggro decks with good draws and set up strong board presence vs control decks.
you can also turn 10 malygos with a holy smite for 7 damage
Lets be real? who gets vitality totem from their shredder when freeze mage is about to win from combo. People need to fucking get off hearthstone if their win condition is RNG.
ive also drawn thaurissan 4x today in my last 5 cards
I'll be blunt, malygos is a win more card for me. Like if i play it, i'm playing it into a situation where i'm probably already going to win the game. So i'd rather be able to play ysera. But the meta doesn't sport mage with many face spells unless you run multiple copies. Like, i play malygos as a sub in my freeze mage and he feels great there. but here he feels like if i play him hes just bait for removal or something that if they don't kill lose their board or their health.
If you see you can't break though with your deck maybe it's time to try a deck that can fare better against the meta?
don't think reno mage is any good vs all those secret paladins..
Well, i play secret pally on EU so i thought i'd use other decks to try in the meta on NA. I have combo druid on NA if i really felt like climbing, but its more about why this deck is suffering
If i had those cards i'd definitly be playing them, but right now i'm working with what i have. Malygos for ysera, slyvana for bloodmage and, pyro for antonidas if i ever get the dust. But i always buy classic packs with extra gold so i might get lucky.
Well, i don't have ysera, i was thinking the sheep over the apprentice. and portal for bgh but idk what want i wanna do with pyro and malygos since both have helped in many situations
I'm really confused why i can't climb with this deck. To me, its very standard reno mage. And it does its job, i just keep finding games where i'm just insanely unlucky. I just want to make sure the consistency of the deck is not whats causing the luck issue.
Obviously i know i'm not playing antonidas, but i feel like maly does the same for me late game anyways since ethereal usually picks up decent spells. Like the only thing i would probably test is antonidas vs malygos, but i'm 100% comfortable with just having maly because i will generally hit him with thaurissan once and make icebolt playable for 8 damage.
Eats silences shortens deck early board presence 2 mana for 5 value from 1 card risk to be removed
Mad scientist Cons
If it eats the silence, it is only a 2/2 that doesn't give 5 mana value it is easy to remove via most cheap spells and most people don't mind trading into it It loses more value the more secrets you draw Feels bad to play into scenarios like mirror identity or having it stolen
Kirin Pros
Can't be silenced, guaranteed secret played if you have one 4/3 body for 3 cost and has an effect (way over tuned) gets stronger the more secrets you draw 3 cost for 6 value and a stronger body Helps freeze mage get cards out of its hand faster Isn't hurt by dropping it on curve can't be pained or deathed by priest which is always a plus :)
Kirin Cons
requires 2 cards where scientist requires 1 obviously doesn't help if you have no secrets Isn't a risk to remove most spells can remove it easily Doesn't help mage go through deck faster
I actually am really enjoying playing kirin in freeze mage right now. I draw all my secrets anyways because of freezes insane draw power on curve that it just feels good to get 2 cards out of my hand on turn 3, i was playing 2 explosive sheeps before, but i decided to drop them for 2 flame cannons to see how they worked and despite them being very 1 target based, they are great for secret keeper removal and such
I'll say, Kirin is not weak in freeze mage, i've just played a few matches with her in my deck, i like scientist better for obvious reasons, but she isn't inconsistent. I just feel more comfortable keeping ice barriers in hand during mulligan.

I think all reno decks will be decently strong when standard is released. So i wouldn't be surprised if reno mage ends up good

Yeah i just quick climbed to 14 with my freeze mage deck. I might go back to my reno mage around 11 or 12

Idk, maybe my biggest question now besides this is why every secret pally and its mother are playing equality?
