Okay, I found this explanation on the official forum. It sounds like the Amazon App Store is just lagging behind.
"This is caused by your account having been used on a version of Hearthstone that is newer than the version you have on your mobile device. To continue playing, the Hearthstone version on your mobile device needs to update. If the game does not update when opening it on your device, accessing the game on a computer will still be possible until a mobile update is available."
Thanks. As you might expect Amazon was clueless. Now time to contact Blizzard support directly. I moved the program from internal memory to SD Card. Cleared cache. Etcetera. I wish it were something local but this is happening on both a phone and a tablet. As Hearthstone is working fine on a different tablet, a laptop, and a PC it can't be account-related.
I've already emailed Amazon support. On an Android phone and an Android tablet I'm having the same problem. Hearthstone keeps complaining that the program needs an update but the Amazon App Store insists that there isn't an update. This makes the program unplayable. I can still play the game via my PC and on a different tablet where Hearthstone was installed via Google Play Store.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Does anyone have any ideas to resolve this problem? I can only spend Amazon Coins on an installation via the Amazon App Store, so this is more than just an annoyance. And yes, I have tried a complete uninstall and reinstall.
Priest received G'huun the Blood God, drawing two cards that cost health instead of mana. And I've only seen it played once (and I only play Wild, where Violet Illusionist is available to Priest). It was the interaction with the tricks available to Warlock that made Stealer of Souls broken beyond belief..
Why didn't they just get rid of the card immediately? I remember being a beta tester for this game. Blizzard actually seemed to care about the game back then. Testing mattered. Clearly things have gone way, way downhill since then.
I have never, ever copied decks; although I obviously make card choices inspired by decks I face. And I don't like Aggro, at least in its purest forms. So I just set a goal of Diamond 5 which gains me an Epic card at month's end. Hybrid and control decks win often enough to achieve this. If you want to grind to Legend though I'm afraid that only Aggro is consistent enough to reach it now.
I play Wild exclusively. The only change that seemed to make any significant difference was to Hysteria. Because now you have to make a choice between using that and creating custom golems. Beyond that I haven't noticed anything different. I don't see Priest playing any more corrupt cards, I don't see Shaman playing any more elementals. And I don't see Mage playing any less Secret or Flamewaker decks. Hopefully the mini-expansion will really shake things up.
I'm not sure Mage is "oppressive". But clearly someone in Blizzard loves Mage. They've given Mage so many win conditions and powerful cards. Other classes are more limited, some are way more limited.

It's probably the United in Stormwind update.

A decidedly hit or miss card but when it hits....

In my humble opinion the game is just fine as it is. Then again, I'm a tournament chess player.

Oh, never mind. The notes were announced today; but the patch will be released next week.

How do I reclaim the Classic Legendary Collector 5/5 achievement? I absolutely own every Classic card.

It probably needs a nerf; but I hope they don't nerf it into oblivion.

I know that Blizzard rarely buffs cards but seriously, Priest and Warrior need some help in Standard.
