I still can't believe people are still arguing about this one. If it read: Discard the top 3 cards of the opponents deck, they would still tell you its useless. In decks that this is supposed to be going into (control) the card counts get pretty low and you deny the person 1 extra thing to throw at you. It does something for sure, and its pretty sad that people think its 100% useless.

It sure isn't meta defining and its pretty niche, but people will use it for the troll value, especially if the card is shown.

This is just wrong though. If it discarded 3 cards it'd actually be useful because removing 20% of your opponents deck has value - it pushes them a hell of a lot closer to fatigue, you know, the ONE SITUATION this card is good.
Unless you go to fatigue you don't deny your opponent anything, they just draw another card instead.
^This. Fatigue's effectiveness can be conceptualized as having a threshold. If you pass this threshold (actually GO to fatigue), then it is an exceedingly powerful effect. If you do not reach this threshold, however, then milling any number of cards over a continuum of games literally has no statistical value. If this was a Warrior/Rogue card, I would say it is playable and could one day even me really good given future cards. In Warlock, however, this card will never see play as Warlock's very hero power has anti-synergy with trying to play a drawn out mill game.
TLDR; It is highly unlikely that a competitive Warlock Mill deck will ever materialize, so this card is essentially a vanilla minion over a continuum of several million games (which is the proper way to value all cards, not just based on one time you get lucky).

Not even an aggro card in the slightest so not sure what that's meant to mean. That said it's not a control or midrange card either...it's just a bad card. Can't leave this thread alone, need people to understand why they're so unbelivably wrong... it's a sickness really.

    "Meta-Defining! 39.9%"

I mean, come on guys. Just sit down and think about what the card actually does.

Meanwhile the MTG community is currently using this very thread to discredit the entire HS community.

Mike Donais said in reddit that we are not going to see a new Death Knight today, but tomorrow we will see Rogue DK card. And he said tomorrow will be revealed a Jade Druid counter, I hope it's neutral.

Source on this messianic Jade counter????

    Realistic combos in wild:

Brann + this + panda + this + shadowstep + this = easily 4 - 8 cards burnt, depending on how long your brann can last. Is this good or is this good?

That's a 7-mana, 4-card combo that does nothing to affect the current state of the board/either players hands. Have you SEEN how good PW is in Wild?????????

    Primordial glyph synergy

This guy understands. Maybe it will be our savior and actually get that spell nerfed to something more reasonable (even a 1-mana discount and it would still see universal play in mage).

Gnomish Vampire is too good and going to be nerfed so hard within a month, probably by raising the mana cost.

     Sure it is...

I think that this card sees play in Mid-range (non-murloc) and Control Paladin alongside Corpsetaker as this + Tirion+ Wickerflame pretty much guarantees at least a 4 Mana divine shield/taunt with the potential for lifelink (the big missing piece here). Also this card is INCREDIBLE in stabilizing against PW in the midgame once paladin had cleared it's board (also just does an amazing job of protecting doomsayer in general and has great synergy with Rallying Blade and Tareem). Love it, hopefully it does more to stop aggro then escalate it but you never know with 1-drops.

Doppelgangster + Thrall, Deahtseer = Three 7 drop minions

The question there becomes: is a 10-mana, 2- card combo worth 3 7-cost minions (plus whatever else was on board)? Depending on the power level of the set: it might not be. Still, seeing as Evolve shaman is already a T1 deck, I would be shocked if this did not see heavy play.

Odd, that it doesn't have anything to do with the freeze mechanics that this set has shown so far. Still, love me some mid-range so I hope it sees play. I'd even argue that this kind of RNG has already been shown to be by and away the least-tilting for both players so if we HAVE to have it, might as well be this.

Too many people comparing this to Arcanologist. Secrets are overall weak cards so their tech cards need to be comparatively powerful. It says something when secrets decks still aren't a thing despite how many great secret tech cards there are.

...Wut...Buddy you might want to sit down for this but: Mages have THREE tier 1-2 decks right now that all rely on Archanologist to nab secrets for them. Hell, SECRET Mage is even the name of one of them!

    ...

All of this can be traced back to how degenerate and foul Pirate Warrior is. Before Golakka Crawler came about, facing a Pirate Warrior was pretty much game over for any deck other than another Super Fast Aggro Go Face Screw Trading Deck.
Whilst I see your point about Golakka Crawler screwing with game space, it was something born out of necessity. If Blizzard hadn't have printed cards like Patches the Pirate then they wouldn't have had to put up with so much bitching from the player base, forcing them to do something to try and stem the tide.
Without Pirate Warrior existing, a card like this would have had more of a chance. As it is, it's never going to see play. Shame.
     No it can't.
Golakka Crawler was a card that was put into the game due to excessive vocal stupidity... and the evidence of this can be tracked down to one very simple thing: it was put into Journey to Un'goro at a late stage of development. It didn't exist as a stable and well thoughout idea... it hadn't had the time to explore the different possiblities one could've done with the card, it was purely put in there to sate the number of people that were moaning about how warrior had gone from the most delaying of control warrior to that of an aggressive deck.
    That's it.
It wasn't born out of necessity and even if it was, that's still a bloody piss poor excuse! We have Tar Creeper, we have Fire Fly, Wickerflame Burnbristle, etc.; these are great ways to stifle early aggression without killing off tribes needlessly.
Pirates aren't dead because of Pirate Warrior, Pirates actually thrive because of it because it proves that you can't do anything about it... you can't steer it into a different direction than that of an aggressive deck currently because there's no point to it. The reason why Pirate Warrior thrives is because of an EXCEPTIONALLY stupid and exceedingly verbal minority who demand it to die without thinking for more than a half a second.
Every single one of the pirates they have printed have been good for the game, even Patches the Pirate and Small-Time Buccaneer (after the nerf to it). So no... this card is dead, folks blame pirate warrior when in reality its due to folks being massively stupid idiots.
(Please note this tho', I am not saying that you are stupid I am simply mad at how stupid people are who spout things randomly because folks like Kripp says something without thinking what they are saying...)
It should be a crime to be this much of a shill.

Wow, I someone tricked myself into thinking that it's stats just became equal to your weapon. Wtf, are they just planning on nerfing PW already and they just don't care or what?
