THESE are the kinds of stat-lines that I like to see on Tech cards! Still, only voted playable as it seems like a very meta dependent inclusion. 10/10 design though, great job Blizz.
I don't 'think' that you ever run this in Pirate Warrior but at the same time: why on Earth would Blizz even risk the off-chance of buffing that malignancy??
Agreed. I think it is counterintuitive for rogues to have weapons when the whole 'weapons buff/poison' concept works more thematically and within the actual history of the game.
I have now heard people comparing this card to Mysterious Challenger. I just...what is even real? Where does the community go from here in a few weeks when this card doesn't see any play past Rank 20?
In hearthstone your deck doesn't have a set order. Every time you "draw" a card you draw a random card from your deck. Not the "top" one, a random one.
So when this card says "remove the top card from your deck", it actually says "remove a random card from your deck." And in any match that does not go to fatigue, it might as well say "reveal the bottom card from your deck." Because you'll never draw that card either. It's even better, because you KNOW you'll never draw the removed card so you can use that knowledge to your advantage and play around it. It just FEELS bad sometimes, but it has nearly no impact on the actual game.
This is a River Crocolisk people. Nothing else. When you play this and remove, let's say an antonidas, and your opponent does not end up drawing his or her entire deck, you STILL didn't accomplish anything other than giving your opponent valuable information. This is NOT a good card. The only reason to play it is to tilt opponents who don't understand how this card works.
And yes, against decks that actually do intend to draw their entire deck, this is sometimes great, but in those cases I'm glad this card exists because we are talking about non-interactive crap like exodia mage here.
At first I thought, well, hopefullly this just never see's play, cuz we can all agree this is not a fun mechanic. But thinking more about it, it seem's this expansion will have a fair amount of control decks, so this card might actually be just a good 2 of in warlock decks, for two chances to really screw over the opponent in a control game, taking out one or two powerhouse cards off their opponents deck. Like why not run it in a control matchup? Damn... bummer card...
Any control deck in Hearthstone's history would LOVE for a Warlock to drop this card over heropowering turn 2.
I love the idea, however: have you considered that Dead Man's hand might be an unnecessary addition (obviously we will need testing to be sure)? I might just cut the coldlights for acolytes and then replace the Dead Man's hands with maybe Cairn and a tech card. Not sure, maybe the pseudo mill build will be great!
IF this deck has any possibility of beating jade idol it will only be because of dead mans. Also, I think without dead mans, this deck would struggle against the seemingly strong DK Mage deck we will see. Yes, dead mans is terrible against aggro, which is why I would probably find some more room for anti aggro somewhere, but it helps infinitely against these new DK decks for sure.
We'll see. I do think that Bloodrazor's Deathrattle + Mosh into N'zoth during the very late game might actually be enough for a marginal (still likely unfavoured) WR. Also in these past weeks I've found that Ysera can be weirdly amazing against Jade Druid, often handing heavy control decks the burst needed to pull out a win if they have a single bad turn for you to establish her. Still, love where your head is at :)

Maybe Fellreaver is a bad comparison. After all, Fellreaver actually saw competitive play.
I don't think felreaver is a bad comparison, but probably too narrow. It is absolutely true though that any deck that played felreaver will have a pity smile for the gnomish vampire before smashing the warlock's head in.
i can't wait for all the people who think this card will be a thing to try him out.
this card will be pretty bad, amazing to see al this hype for this bad card...
it will not see play in any competitive deck
Right? What the hell is going on, it feels like we're missing out on some ironic joke. Have THIS many people never played any other TCG with trash cards like this? I mean, Fellreaver did this to yourself add infinity and that was considered a NEGLIGIBLE drawback.
Although not perfect, I really think that the comparisons to Spikeridge Steed are the most accurate. My biggest fear with this card is that Jade Druid finds the room for it and suddenly has a wildly different wr against aggro. Although if that happens and leads to the final necessary nerf to Jade Idol then I will personally declare this card to be the risen Christ.

Why is Howling Commander Rare with a (seemingly) worse effect and in a class that values such sweet CA so much less then Hunter?
