This is the mark of an overpowered card. When you look at Tickatus in the same light, it isn’t remotely close to achieving this.

Evolve shaman was (and still is, in a lesser manner) a super-tempo fast deck (similar to aggro, but still not it exactly, even though the damage output by turn 6 is similar), effcient against a wide range of decks and archetypes, Tickatus warlock is a control deck that fares well against other control/combo but poorly against aggro. Meta is and will always be leaning heavily on aggro, given how it's dictated by F2Players. So... do I need to state the obvious?

    Question is different though.

It's not about how relevant the deck is.

Tickatus won't ever see a chance to see the board in an aggro matchup, agreed. It's basically a dead card in those matchups.

Don't we all agree though that in a control/combo matchup (in combination with y'shaarj, of course) its effect is unfair and op, reducing the opponent's chances to win by roughly 75/80%?!?

Again. It would be a 6-mana 8/8 demon that happens to burn 3 cards from the opponent's deck. I'm completely missing the "that would make it totally unplayable" argument. It's no-sense.

    Dear Santa

Evolve shaman is really naughty this year and need a fucking nerf

like anything, weapon at 3 attack would be a good start but I would prefer 6 mana.

    Thanks you Santa!

Honestly, I think neither attack nor mana of the weapon is the problem with evolve shaman. The evolve mechanic is meant to be high variance and should be balanced accordingly. The actual problem with evolve shaman is it being waaayyyy too consistent. This has two reasons:

    1) Cagematch custodian. This card allows shamans to consistently have at least one copy of the knuckles on curve, which is bad for the balance. It should never have been released during the same rotation as the weapon.

    2) Boggspine knuckles affecting the whole friendly side of the board. Since the deck can quite easily vomit 7 minions on the board, you can easily evolve 7 minions with it. And at that point, the variance isn't that much of a problem anymore. There will be some nice evolutions almost all of the time. The weapon should affect 3 random friendly minions, 4 tops. Then the variance would still be quite high. Allowing really good and really bad turns. Also, the shamans would need some additional plans and considerations regarding the rest of their board space, making it a more interesting deck overall.

At least one of those two problems need to be adressed by the developers. In general, I'm not a fan of balance updates that only change mana costs and stats. If an effect seems to be overtuned you might want to adjust the effect itself...

And the other big problem is the pillager. It being actually stronger than the pure paladin dude just doesn't sound right.

Have you tried playing evolve shaman lately? All you see are hyper aggressive face hunters and rogues that kill you by turn 5. They did more than nerf Boggspine. They adjusted the matchmaking system to discourage people from playing it.

And how could you blame them? The only way to deal with winrate-obsessed farming p####s is decrease their actual winrate.

They only need to change the text to "3 cards" instead of "5 cards" and there you are. Still perfectly playable and hurts but doesn't obliterate combo and control. So simple. And still they don't seem to care at all. Why, it's beyond me. The dust refund?  I would never dust such a card, honestly, even with the nerf.

Dusting any card is just bad idea, nerfed or not

The 0 mana 10 drop and the desert hare are the big problems.

If the hare just spawned 2 0 mana 1/1's, that'd solve that issue. As for the 3/4 rush that evolves into a 10 drop.... uh... I don't know; maybe have it's played mana cost be it's actual mana cost.

The other big issue is hoard pillager. They should nerf it to "re-equip a weapon with 1 durability" or maybe improve its stats and reword the effect into "puts a destroyed weapon in your hand".

    Quote from MezariOz >>

Bogspine knuckles becomes a 2/2 with battlecry: Transform up to 3 random minions into ones that cost (1) more.

Shaman doesn't need the extra 2 dmg, plus transforming an entire board is becoming tired.

    Hoard pillager becomes a 1/2.

This card is too strong already giving multiple classes 4 wields of their weapons. It doesn't need the attack on top of that.

Hoard pillager should give you back the weapon with 1 durability. And yeah, the knuckles should somehow affect only a portion of the board. Those shamans are so repetitive and boring.

Just reduce the number of burned cards to 3 and it's fine, without touching anything else.

3 whole classes completely missing. Has it ever happened before?

And then: no nzoth, no yogg, no c'thun, no Y'shaarj. Such a successful expansion, ain't it?

Came to mathematically theorize an assumption:

(Casual-environment)+(golden-paid-hero-portrait)+(scary-thuggish-battletag)=tier 1 deck gold farming idiot.

I think this is close to 100% accurate.

From what I understand the players that got the most p**sed off by the new reward system are the hardcore aggro ones that used to rush those 30 wins as fast as possible, preferably in casual too, since they met even less resistance.

Well, whatever f**ks with them sounds delicious to me.

Classical loser from low ladder rsrs
What you say about legend players with almost all colection like myself? I play aggro, control, whatever I want and still feel shafted from this system

"Loser". So peculiar the use of this word, ain't it? Not "player", "loser". Cause the world, especially the Hearthstone's one, is clearly divided in "winners" and "losers". It's only about it. Fun is not a factor any more.

Agreed. The new reward system is a big, sticky, middle finger to all hardcore gold farmers. And it's mine too. Enjoy it.
