posted a message on No, hearthstone is not dying

Just like with WoW, "dying" can mean one of two different things:

    - actually dying, i.e. being close to closing down servers and not providing any support for the game anymore

    - having less players than they had before. So much fewer that Blizzard needs to take action - not because the game is actually dying, but because the level of profits dropped below what they wanted.

Consider all the corporate bullshit most managers present at the end of quarters (Oracle, Apple, Microsoft, etc). They say they had an increase in profits of 10% last year but for the next year they want it to become 30%.

Of course it's absolutely impossible to do that. But those morons only care about spitting out big numbers to look strong and justify a lot of useless spending, even if they know those numbers can't be achieved.

When you apply the same corporate bullcrap to a video game company, we can actually have something to gain out of their end-quarter management stupidity. If enough players stop playing the game, they need to do SOMETHING such that they attract enough players to be able to justify at least a part of percentage increase. The issue arrises when this year's profits will be below last year's. That's why people get fired or changed.

In short, if we want this game to become much better, we should stop playing it or paying for their in-game shits. The game won't die, of course. But they will be forced to put more work into their game such that players feel it's worth buying crap in it. And the corporate management decisions help us in this regard because they are never realistic.

So yea, the game will not die until you see an announcement regarding bringing down the servers for good. Until then, expect more extreme decisions taken by Blizzard in the hopes of making us pay for their shit. Hopefully, eventually, they will realize they need to put in the work they didn't give a shit about for the past 5 years (i'm not talking about just designing cards, like they have been doing).

Go to a more private event, indeed. Hopefully you guys end up doing an orgy and feel really good about it after. You can always propose to organize a party after the actual games to releave the... tension ;)

posted a message on Install Hearthstone Problem

I can't pay for anything from within the game for about 2 years now. Always stuck at loading the payment screen and nothing worked that was suggested by forumers or devs. It's not surprising they could have botched another piece of the game.

That without even mentioning the fact that you can't really see a progress for when the bnet launcher updates or that it takes ages to do finish.

And why the hell can't we play HS from the launcher, without having to update it first?! I mean, if the game is up to date, why care about the stupid launcher?!

tempostorm reports sucks. they are not based on data, just opinions

Tempo storm sucks overall, not just their report. The fact that they can properly pilot some decks in this game doesn't make them gods. It's not that hard, especially when you spend thousands of dollars to get all the cards quickly and play 8h a day. Also, the game is not that hard. What everyone calls "skill" is, most of the time, just draw randomness (there are exceptions, of course, but if you are bad at the game after playing it like a job, then you suck).

What are your plans about Casual mode, to limit the deck power of what can be played in it? I mean, what's the real point of a casual mode when most people can't have fun against netdeckers and/or impressive collections?! Why not just remove it?

When are going to improve HS, in terms of quality of life and general UI features, to the level a game should be after so many years? And please don't start with the "it'll be too confusing to new players" excuse.

I played some MtG also. As a game HS is better, simplier, more attractive, better gameplay. But as a "card game", MtG is 100% better than HS.

The top winrates for pro MTG players are the same as the ones for pro HS players, you can look it up. Idk why people think there's less rng in magic or that's it's more skill based when the stats says otherwise

Percentage wins don't mean anything, that's why. A percentage is a "void" number, i.e. It matters only in its own context. And yes, MTG has less randomness than HS. Why? Because you have more ways to react to the plays. It's actually simple. Tell me, how do you react to discover, omega assembly, zylliax, barnes, playing the dr boom hero, to bomb warrior putting 1000 bombs in your deck, to token druid being too aggro, etc?!

Sure, IF and ONLY IF you get the right draws WHEN you need them, and/or only if you play secret mage. So again, tell me, how do you CONSISTENTLY prevent something in HS?! You can't.

Your health pool is just a stupid buffer that forces you to hope that your deck's general strategy is better and quicker against the opponent deck's general strategy. You can't have more randomness than this.

HS really needs to rethink the amount of hit points a hero starts with. 30 is becoming not enough. But, obviously, then everyone will complain about having longer games. Well, MTG achieved that without increasing the health pool.

HS won't be able to. Remember, it's too confusing for new players to have more deck slots.

Can you please include in the description of the decks what cards could be substituted for a deck version above budget? I mean if you have the epics and/or some key legendaries, not everything.

posted a message on The community's standard attitude towards Wild is unhelpful and needs to be changed.

@op: good luck! As long as blizzard doesn't give a shit to balance it, nothing will change. And they will care only when very few people play it, i.e. Never.

They don't care to limit deck power in casual. What makes you think they care about wild? It brings them enough money to not change it.
