They should put a team together that focuses on the game, not just the cards. Hopefully you are right and they will start making fewer, more meaningful cards.
Also they want to get money out of any feature, so why implement any as long as people continue paying for this shit?! I'd rather donate that money to charity, helping kids, etc... But that's just me.
@iandakar: thanks for a good read. It's also true as it seems.
They really need to do something to their design in order to not allow the game ending up in the same place after every expansion. It's becoming tiresome to know that after every batch of new cards there will be a few nerfs.
It's like they don't want to get out of this stupid cycle. It's also one of the reasons why I don't care to play the game anymore (except for having fun with the single player content for a bit). Every expansion goes the same way every time. Same steps, same issues. Either the game is flawed by design, or they haven't found the solution yet.
Why do you guys waste time with this game is beyond me.
Why you are reading Hearthpwn forums is beyond me, let alone posting on them.
Maybe because i care a bit and wish it was a different game.
Also to trigger children like yourself :)
@endlesstides: yes Magic is A BIT different because of its complexity. This means you reach the boredom later than with HS. And yes, every CCG is the same - because they only spit out cards and don't change some designs in small ways to make it feel new or to let us discover new stuff harder (i.e. Work for it, make it feel worth, but not by grinding).
For example, what if you had to discover the expansion's legendaries through something interesting instead of making card reveals? I know, it's not a design change in the game, but i'm not a game designer to suggest them.
I'm sick of this sh*t happening, my internet is fine, none of the other games I play ever froze. Especially when I lose arena matches this makes me really want to ragequit this game.
So why don't you? There are much better games out there, single and multiplayer. Is it worth having a little enjoyment every time you play to then feel extremely frustrated because of stupid losses (for whatever reason)?
I had the exact same thought recently. I have all the cards for any decent deck (and by that I mean with a winrate above 45%) and there is not a single one I would want to play. Repetitive.
To quote just one of the answers from the first page. My question to all of you feeling the same:
Why do you think this game will ever be different, thus why do you keep playing it? I mean, they just spit out cards every few months and here you are - the same bullshit over and over and over.
With cards limited to 4-5 rows of text, their reluctance to introduce new keywords, their inability to change anything else except cards, why do you think it'll ever be a different game?! You WILL get bored of it. Some classes and decks WILL be OP. You WILL ask for nerfs. The meta WILL be stale and stupid.
Why do you guys waste time with this game is beyond me. There are so many others out there with huge replay value. I'm not gonna say that Magic is any different, because it is not, BUT because of the more complex mechanics and more design freedom it makes you FEEL better for longer because there are many more possible outcomes and such. Play it enough and you'll end up in the same situation.
I seem to be stuck on rank 15... I have a decent standard-issue mech/bomber hunter deck, which got crushed by frost mage, so I created a frost mage deck and play that for a bit, won a handful, lost a handful... that deck was getting crushed by lazul/nomi priest. So I created a lazul/nomi priest deck, which started getting wrecked by mech/bomber hunter. It's a vicious cycle and I dunno how you guys deal with it. :| I guess just don't be bad at the game and keep climbing the ladder, lol. Maybe I'm switching decks too much? Gah.
The matchmaking always seemed rigger to change the matchups based on the deck you play (we just cannot prove it yet). My suggestion is to play something else (there are some new games out there that you may like - battle brothers, thea 2, etc)
I think it's always close to 50/50. Those numbers can vary so wildly (and for many reasons, like even the time you play on or your region can affect win rates and thus those numbers) that it's not worth even looking at them.
Play what you like and what feels lucky during that specific moment. Over a very large sample size, decks should get close to 50/50.
Over a small sample size, it matters more to have fun, i.e. if you win 3 out of 4 matches with a deck while playing 1-2 hours in total, then don't change it until you stop playing (or, of course, until you become unlucky). If, instead, you win 1 in 4 matches after 10-15 games, then maybe try another archetype/etc, which might be luckier at that specific moment in time.
Nevertheless, to have a real chance at having fun you need to use the best decks available in the meta.
Do you mean it is a matter of consistency between expansions? Ok, then why don't they change EVERY FITTING card text when a new keyword appears, and, when an expansion is no longer in play, change EVERY FITTING card text BACK? That would be 100% consistency! Why? Because it applies to both standard, arena and wild modes.
That is the most stupid, arbitrary way of choosing something to be 'consistent' I've ever seen. This argument comes up all the time, and I don't think anyone has ever come up with a worse suggestion than this.
It is entirely consistent to say - 'This Keyword is only used in this expansion. If the same or similar effect appears briefly in another expansion, we do not need to use the Keyword.' - and to pretend that isn't 'consistent' is silly. Just because you personally don't like this policy doesn't mean it's inconsistent.

I can say the same about your line of reasoning tbh. 'Consistent' in this case means fixing 'the issue' in all formats, all the time.
Keywords are mainly a shortcut for longer text, can we agree on that? They also help create cards around them (e.g. 'your next Battlecry triggers twice').
So, why the heck do they even create non-evergreen keywords to begin with if either they create no cards that act on the effect of the keyword - like the battlecry example from above, either they are going to print future cards without the keyword?
Why even bother to create a 'temporary' keyword? The example from now will probably be 'twin-spell'. I don't know of any card that plays around it, e.g. 'cards with twin-spell cost 2 less' or whatever. So it's likely the keyword will be dropped soon just like Echo was.
So why even bother to create them in the first place? Is it too much to ask for consistency in design?! From your childish, raging and extreme answer it's clear you don't care about that. Well, guess what, I do and I have a different opinion than you (if you don't like it, go vent to a psychologist please).
Why do I care about consistency? Because what they are doing makes no sense, even from a time/resource perspective, i.e. they could spend that small amount of time to do something else, like improving some basic things in the UI and so on.
Mistress of Pain has lifesteal because lifesteal is a evergreen keyword. Echo is not a evergreen keyword, so Witches Brew doesn't have Echo. How hard it is understand ? using keywords just for the sake for it is bad.

But nevermind, i'm asking for consistency in a game that doesn't allow me to skip the text bubbles in the single player content and, as well, isn't capable of showing all the rewards or card changes with one click (after starting the game) instead of clicking through all of them like a stupid click simulator. I won't even care to discuss about a feature to discover all cards from a pack with one click... So much forced hype and idiocy.

How about the bug when the AI plays a coin and does nothing after? Is that a feature? :)

I like the one where the retarded AI casts coin for no reason. Is it that hard to code the fact that coin gives an extra mana for that turn?
