Mistress of Pain has lifesteal because lifesteal is a evergreen keyword. Echo is not a evergreen keyword, so Witches Brew doesn't have Echo. How hard it is understand ? using keywords just for the sake for it is bad.
Do you mean it is a matter of consistency between expansions? Ok, then why don't they change EVERY FITTING card text when a new keyword appears, and, when an expansion is no longer in play, change EVERY FITTING card text BACK? That would be 100% consistency! Why? Because it applies to both standard, arena and wild modes.
But nevermind, i'm asking for consistency in a game that doesn't allow me to skip the text bubbles in the single player content and, as well, isn't capable of showing all the rewards or card changes with one click (after starting the game) instead of clicking through all of them like a stupid click simulator. I won't even care to discuss about a feature to discover all cards from a pack with one click... So much forced hype and idiocy.
Remember, the target audience and testing groups are probably full of 10 year-olds (or 80 year-olds). Of course they get confused about keywords and more than 9 deck slots. They can't even count to ten. Or the UI is that bad that it's not obvious they need to SCROLL!
Regarding the keywords, it's not like they can't READ, right?! Well, at 10 or 80 years of age it may be difficult for some to grasp the meaning of certain phrases. Or, again, the UI is so bad that they can't easily see where they need to read the keywords info - i don't even remember, can you see what a keyword means while playing a game, or can you do it only from your collection?
Because of all of this you get a vicious cycle in which Blizzard will always have a reason to do stupid shit (because of what the testing groups tell them), NOT because people are stupid, but because they don't want to improve the UI (not a single significant bit in 5 years).
And they will always justify their decisions based on the control groups since they have no interest to admit they are lazy morons.
Good ideas actually. The problem with voting is you have to do it in game, otherwise it becomes not relevant.
Nevertheless it is too much work for such an indie company. They only design cards and do a bit of testing. Just look at how the UI improved in 5 years... oh, wait...
You: "you mf prick! Stop playing that stupid cancerous deck"
Opponent: "stfu u stoopid kid. No brain. Fail. MonkaS Keepo"
......
15 seconds left on the clock. You hastily play something trying to not lose your train of swearing and hoping your words hurt more than your opponent's words hurt you.
End turn.
Rinse and repeat for your opponent.
Basically, HS would become a permanent Nozdormu typing simulator with psychological manipulation training.
Sure, I'll just drop my massive minion - let's say a Mountain Giant, turn 3-4 - and make it unable to be targeted by spells (or Hero Powers, presumably). That's definitely balanced and would in no way need nerfing immediately.
Knowing blizzard, they would probably nerf mountain giant to cost 2 more.
Put another option there: "I don't play HS anymore. Blizzard can't be trusted to care about anything else than money."
Just move yourself to the salt tread or don't come to the forum anymore if you don't care about the game.
The fact that i come here to get news means i care. But i won't play until blizzard starts giving a shit about the game (and not just card design).
In the mean time, stop acting like a moronic 12year-old fan boy. Go play the game, i'm sure you will never regret all the wasted time in it when you realize what it could've been, or when your parents stop paying for it. Move yourself to life's salt thread instead please.
Viewer counts don't mean anything. It's so easy to use bots just to over-hype the event. I'm not surprised if they pay some shady people to simply bring in more viewers due to their tech skills.
What should count is the number of times people click on ads and such. That what ad owners should have to pay blizzard for. Not just some idiotic hype.
PS: i never don't use adblockers in my browsers, even on my phone ;)
@op: i don't. I'd rather spend my time in something i enjoy - some strategy games, one new mmorpg, etc. HS is neither. There is no strategy in it. If your deck's key card is at the bottom, good luck winning any matchup that finishes in at most 20 turns. That's not strategy, that's adaptation forcing.
All of these stupid coin flips don't make for anything resembling a strategy. Quite the opposite - extreme frustration when you lose because of stupid and lucky things. Yes, winning because of them happens too, but why should I have to coin-flip every time for my enjoyment? I'd rather play something that allows 100% control and just hone my skills until i get as good at it as i want.
this may sound weird to you but maybe card games just aren't for you then LUL
It doesn't sound weird, but it's partly wrong. I did play some card games that I enjoyed. Right now i'm in the "strategy/rpg genres" mood :)
Nevertheless, when my card game mood returns, HS is not going to be the game I care about. Just as a few examples: slay the spire, thea 2 the shattering (half strategy half card game), and 2-3 others that i can't remember the names of now, LOL.

The thing I hate about Homebrew deck building is the weird coincidence where you tech for a type of deck, say aggro, and then you don't face it anymore so you have a dead tech card or 2 even though that's all you were facing...
Thank blizzard for their rigged matchmaking regarding the types of decks you play.
Just like with WoW, "dying" can mean one of two different things:
- actually dying, i.e. being close to closing down servers and not providing any support for the game anymore
- having less players than they had before. So much fewer that Blizzard needs to take action - not because the game is actually dying, but because the level of profits dropped below what they wanted.
Consider all the corporate bullshit most managers present at the end of quarters (Oracle, Apple, Microsoft, etc). They say they had an increase in profits of 10% last year but for the next year they want it to become 30%.
Of course it's absolutely impossible to do that. But those morons only care about spitting out big numbers to look strong and justify a lot of useless spending, even if they know those numbers can't be achieved.
When you apply the same corporate bullcrap to a video game company, we can actually have something to gain out of their end-quarter management stupidity. If enough players stop playing the game, they need to do SOMETHING such that they attract enough players to be able to justify at least a part of percentage increase. The issue arrises when this year's profits will be below last year's. That's why people get fired or changed.
In short, if we want this game to become much better, we should stop playing it or paying for their in-game shits. The game won't die, of course. But they will be forced to put more work into their game such that players feel it's worth buying crap in it. And the corporate management decisions help us in this regard because they are never realistic.
So yea, the game will not die until you see an announcement regarding bringing down the servers for good. Until then, expect more extreme decisions taken by Blizzard in the hopes of making us pay for their shit. Hopefully, eventually, they will realize they need to put in the work they didn't give a shit about for the past 5 years (i'm not talking about just designing cards, like they have been doing).

The game would look like this:
Turn 1..n:
You: "you mf prick! Stop playing that stupid cancerous deck"
Opponent: "stfu u stoopid kid. No brain. Fail. MonkaS Keepo"

Only 3 nerfs:
- Dr. BOOM, Mad Genius -> the mech Rush ability becomes a hero power (i.e. Give your mechs Rush for this turn).
- Bloodbloom -> 4 mana.
- Raiding party -> 5 mana (because you draw 2 minions and a weapon, which is very specific, thus needs more than 4 mana even with the Combo word).

Those stats don't look that good. I mean, it seems like an average deck.
