I'm having a lot of fun with this deck and I am looking for improvements. I've already noticed it does decently against aggro shaman and midrange druid, two tier one decks, and can beat midrange paladin as well, so maybe there is some real potantial with this one. It doesn't do too well against control. Strong point of the deck is that all the 1 attack minions in this deck are actually good by themselves. (Except Warbot maybe, but the synergy with mech cards makes up for that.)
What makes it work for me is that it's not a one-trick pony, both the mech synergy and the hobgoblin synergy is really strong in this one, and it's not too hard to put minions on the board your opponent can't deal with. Once that happens, the deck can snowball really fast.
Similar decks used to have warsong commander, for obvious reasons, but I don't think the deck needs it to be good.
What I would like to know is if anyone has suggestions to make the deck even better. For example, I feel there has to be a card to replace Imp Master with. It does pretty well, but I feel there has to be a better fit somewhere.
I make friend requests after matches I liked (or sometimes when someone played a deck I just didn't understand) all the time.
Then, when it's accepted, most of the time the other person opens with a cautious "Yes?"
Then I say "Fun match, wasn't it?" And they usually reply with something like "you know what, that WAS a fun match."
Maybe the problem isn't with the few rotten apples, but with all the other people who have stopped trying. If nobody friend requests with good intentions, then every friend request will automaticly be a bad one.
Playing all kinds of decks to try out the Hobgoblin I just crafted.
I was playing an agressive paladin vs what I assume was midrange paladin (I havn't seen much of his deck). Had almost emptied my hand. Had a 1/1, a Haunted Creeper and a Mechwarper on the field, and a Blessing of Wisdom, Divine Favor and Hobgoblin in my hand.
my turn 4 I slam my recruit, creeper AND mechwarper into his acolyte, making him draw 3 cards, play the blessing on my warper, and proceed to draw 7 cards with Divine Favor. among which 2 Murloc Tinyfin and 1 Wisp.
How about shuffling the decks together, giving 50% of each deck to each player. What kind of deck would you even make? You would probably just pick the most fun cards, because you arn't punished in any way for doing so.
I prefer a slightly different take on this idea: each player builds a 15 card deck, and then each player gets a deck made up of their 15 cards and their opponent's 15 cards.
That's better because it decreases the luck factor, but a lot more work to make I suspect.
An all-Basic Brawl: build the most powerful deck you can using only basic cards. This is a build-your-own-deck brawl that newbies can compete in on an even footing, and could provide useful information to replace the default nine decks with new, more functional decks.
I had an idea for a frustrating/funny Tavern Brawl where you switch decks with your opponent, so everyone's whittling away at each other with really awful decks filled with Wisps and Angry Chickens. Lol, it probably wouldn't be fun for long
This is a fundamentally flawed concept, because it is possible to build a Warlock deck which cannot do damage to your opponent.

I did have ONE really awesome game though. It was basicly an Illidan Stormrage vs Mogor the Ogre battle that lasted for several turns.
I had illidan stormrage and my opponent mogor. We both had crap minions otherwise, but I was much lower on health, so I would have lost. My opponent, in an attempt to kill my illidan, keeps destroying my 2/1 Flame of Azzinoths instead.
Eventually, his 7/1 mogor crashes into my 7/1 illidan, leaving a board with two crappy minions on his side and an 8/8 Gurubashi Berserker and a 2/3 axe flinger on mine. (I had used Rampage on it at some point.)
Next turn, I draw Bouncing Blade... Such a beatiful lethal.
Another reasonably fun match was one where I got Trade Prince Gallywix and Master of Disguise, and my opponent a hand with 50% spells. But I assume that wasn't as fun for my opponent as it was for me.

I fear Demolisher and Flying Machine on their own arn't strong enough to replace Imp Master, but buffed Flying Machine in particular is a lot better (3/6 windfury!!). Not to mention they are easier to play because of Mechwarper.

Turn 5: Hobgoblin, Murloc Tinyfin, Murloc Tinyfin, Wisp, Argent Squire
I won that game :)

Knife Juggler + Unleash the Hounds and Knife Juggler + Muster for Battleare two card combo's. So why do their classes have them in their hands turn 5 every. single. time.

I'm kicking ass in casual with this hobgoblin deck. Most fun I've had with warrior in months!

Imp-losion: "Deal 2 damage and summon two 1/1 imps. If summoned by your opponent, deals 4 damage and summons 4 1/1 imps instead."
Fun card.

Overlooking that Hellfire deals 3 damage to face when your opponent is at 3 health.
Still won that one, though.

I am fed up with druids who coin out Darnassus Aspirant without a 3 drop in their hand and still win because of their OP deck.

You know, I complain a lot about aggro decks, and while I like control, I usually only like it in mirror.
But midrange is the bomb!! I LOOOVE playing it and don't mind playing against it one bit. Midrange hunter and paladin are awesome.

How is any deck that relies on a speciffic one drop consistent?
