After the new changes I decided to play a arena run after a month break from arena. So I drafted this deck http://www.heartharena.com/arena-run/dl594i I would like to know what do you guys think about the choices I made and any Drafting advice you guys can provide.
My point of view on some difficult choices
Pick 4: Seeing my final list corrupted healbot was probably much better as I have only one 5 drop but I was inclined towards happy ghoul for more early game.
Pick 11: This might have been one of my wrong choices but I had two 6-7 drops and sometimes I do not get enough early game cards later in the draft. I thought ooze was a good pick too because of all the rogue in the arena.
So I think I might have made my deck worse by trying to get some early game when I should have only be seeing value lol. What do you guys think i could have done?
Oh boy! :D this is a pretty tough start, i think u could have taken any of them honestly, depends on how u like to play.
Yes.
Yes. I hate that card personally tho, ugh ... but those other two were complete trash :F
No. Corrupted Healbot 100%. U generally dont care about the heal for your opponent and 5-cost 6/6 is an amazing tempo play.
Yes. Tho Jungle Panther was also an options, again, depends on how u like to play, panther could provide more "guaranteed" dmg or force an aoe.
Yes. As amazing as Wild Pyromancer is as a 2-drop, Saronite Chain Gang is one of the best taunts for its cost and WL needs good taunts. Its early enough that u dont need to force yourself to pick early minions.
Mby. Again, all three choices were good. Depends on how u like to play. The most valuable was Corpse Raiser, but it requires u to have a tempo deck to always have a board to get full value, Volcanosaur is just a good big drop that u can play whenever, but might not provide as big of a tempo value as Corpse Raiser might. And the taunt was just a decent taunt minion overall, which i already said that good taunts r never a bad thing, especially for WL, so if u wanted to be extra safe, u could have taken that, but it would be my last pick, i would have gone with Corpse Raiser most likely.
No. Venomancer is a pretty good 5-drop, that forces an immediate response. Only bad thing about it is that my opponent always seem to follow up with a Stampeding Kodo :D but a 2/1 1-drop do nothing doesnt seem like a better choice here anyway, so Venomancer it is.
Yes.
Yes.
Mby. You could use a good 3-drop and weapon removal is always nice to have, but the taunt is also a decent one and as said before, u need good taunts as WL.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Mby. Argent Commander is a cood card in a tempo deck, u kinda have that, but not rly. Big aoe is never a bad thing, so Felfire Potion was definitely an option there, i think i would have taken that.
Mby. I would have taken Kooky Chemist, cause i would have had one or two more good taunts, but u only have two 2-drop taunts (which is like no taunts) and one other good taunt. Infested Tauren is not the best taunt ever (and is kinda similar to those 2-drop taunts in terms of stopping power), but like i said many times now, u need taunts as WL, so u dont get smorced too low and be denied from using your hero power to generate card advantage.
Mby. Kabal Chemist was definitely an option as well, there is a good chance she gives u an AOE (3 potins r aoe), so she is quite a powerful card. Also the probably worst potion (+14 heal) might be useful for u as WL too, so she was probably a better option, tho Harvest Golem was a better curve choice to.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes. Tho u already have a dupplicate in your deck, might want to go hard on no-dupplicate from now on, especially since u are 20 cards deep already.
Probably yes at this point.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes. At last! haha ... cant believe how many Felfire Potions u got offered lol!
Mby. As much as i like Darkshire Councilman, its a pretty slow card in arena, ur not playin a zoo deck where this card will be a 4/5 next turn, u will be glad if u can make it a 3/5, so it will more often than not trade unfavorably. Its still a rly good card, but considering u already have a bunch of 3-drops, i would go for Acherus Veteran. It can fill your curve when u need to or help with trades or u can just dump it on T1 for the tempo play.
Yes. Ravenous Pterrordax is a rly good card, but u dont rly have a deck where you would want to kill off many of your stuff. I would "have to" pick it (cause Kazakus), since i would have taken the 1st kabal chemist previously, but it would be fine either way for both of us.
Yes. Damn, this last choice is the exact opposite of your first, all these cards SUCK, even twisting nether, considering your deck, but w/e its fine :)
Well thats all from me, hope i helped u a bit at least to see the reasoning behind some of the choices :)
Hi there, interesting choices. From your picks I'd say you intent to play heavy control and ends the game with your big drops (not to mention you were given some nasty choices...yikes). If I were given those choices though, I'd lean to cheaper cards. For example;
Shallow Gravedigger over Feeding Time (both buys you some time) Spreading Madness over Blackwater Pirate (I think Blackwater offers too little if you have no weapon..)

Shallow Gravedigger is a decent card, basically just a "cycle" card that forces your opponent to ping it most of the time, not rly the same thing as what Feeding Time provides, but its a matter of preference and in the end i can see someone pickin that in this situation, sure.
But Spreading Madness ... NO! Big fat NO! Do not pick this card, if u dont want to rely heavily on luck. This card is so much RNG based its not even funny. It can (and often does) do majority of the dmg to your (or in better case, your opponents) face and doesnt do what u need it to do (clear the enemy board). Just no ... not worth the gamble. Blackwater Pirate is a horrible 4-drop for WL, but still id rather have that than Spreading Madness any day.

Sure it is not Volcanic Potion, but I think it should be good at turn 3 to hit 1-health minion or 2-health minion when you are facing aggro, which will preserve more health rather than 2/4 that will only sit until next turn. Then again, that might be depending on style, and both are terrible lol.

Thnx for the reply ,I agree with you on Corrupted Healbot and Venomancer . Most of the games I have played were with rouge where I think 1 drop would have been better so that might have clouded my judgement .I also think i should have taken the 3/8 taunt instead of weapon removal.

Did think about Spreading Madness and Blackwater Pirate but you never know where spreading Madness will hit making it very risky so I went with Blackwater Pirate.
1) Easy 2) Easy 3) Easy 4) Edge Healbot. On pick #4 I'd go with Healbot since it's good value and tempo, however, Happy Ghoul plays well in Warlock since there are many heal spells. 5) Fine 6) Easy - need taunts for Warlock 7) 50/50 on Volcanosaur vs Bruiser. Bit of curve consideration as well as good tempo play if behind. Guarentee'd Taunt. 8) Venomancer for me, Reaver is very bad for developing boards, since Warlocks don't have pings to control early game, tapping 2-3 times early isn't going to help you win the board, this 1-drop would scare me off. 9) Easy 10)Fine 11)Fine - Curve pick here. 12)Easy 13)Good 14)Good 15)Easy 16)OK - Hard to pass Commander here for Felfire, personally this would be closer then the scores suggest. 17)Good 18)Easy 19)Easy 20)Easy - Feels good passing the Felfire ! 21)Easy - Feels bad taking 2nd Defile ? jk :) 22)Easy - 22/30 and you have no single target removal. 23)I HATE Spreading Madness, it's a total crap shoot. But a safe understatted 2/5 minion for 4 isn't going to win you games. You have enough safe minions that don't affect the board. I'd take the gamble with the Madness here and hold it for a truly dire situation. It gives your deck possible reach in top deck situations, and random pings for divine shields. Use with Caution. 24)Easy 25)Easy 26)Easy 27)Volcanosaur is fine. Deck lacking some meat, Felfire would wreck your early tempo plays. 28)Easy 29)Edge to Kabal. Both are okay - I like options with the Kabal and Pterr lacks some targets on T4. 30)Random Nether - but it's the best option.
You're playing curvestone and tempo with this, my changes would have added 1 or 2 options into your decklist that the deck might need to sneak a win out. Don't think Felfire or Nether fits this deck, but could use FF for lethal. Deck lacks 1-2 better late game cards, and lacks reach to finish off opponents so you'll have to control the board and out tempo them into a lead. GL
