According to the Warcraft lore, is it close enough or maybe there are some Inconsistencies took place?
Actually Garona and Medivh have a relation while she's being ambassador to Medivh and it resulted in a child - Med'an.
The whole story around Doomhammer and Blackhand is different - in the book, Orgrim is his 1st commander, second in the clan.
They had to adapt it some way to make the screenplay happen. Right after I watched the movie I noticed a lot more, b/c recently I read the book. In my country they even released a translated novel based on the movie by Christie Golden, which is quite different compared to the Rise of the Horde (the original story, written by her as well)
One of the things I don't understand about movie production companies is their need to put real actors into everything even when it doesn't make much sense. We've got entirely CGI movies for kids that do insane amounts of money at the box office. Most of the people in the age group to be interested in a movie like Warcraft have grown up with cartoons and video games for most of their entire lives. Things that are entirely animated or done with computer graphics are not weird or off-putting to them. The CGI sequences in World of Warcraft MMO are amazingly well done. Why not just make an entire movie like that instead of trying to alter real people and places with mediocre CGI?

Have to mix some real with the fake. All CGI then you have a kids movie. Warcraft has a wider demographic then just children. All CGI movies in my opinion are like paying to watch a cartoon. Don't get me wrong, CGI these days look amazing!!! You can still tell though =/
Without prior knowledge , you'll feel relatively lost. This was strictly fan service which to a degree I appreciated , but also felt like some of the scenes didn't further the story and were purely filler. It was advertised as being about both sides , but it was definitely more human / alliance which is sad because the orcs felt more human. Weird cast choices aside it's an enjoyable popcorn flick with some pacing issues.
I beg to differ, I watched it without prior knowledge and it was quite clear.
I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Was pretty much saved at the box office by China I believe which means we may get a sequel.
They got about $47k worldwide gross. Frankly speaking i doubt this number is enough reason to continue the franchise....
Google says 433 million Gross, however It still didn't turn a profit somehow.
I watched Warcraft in IMAX twice. I am a big fan of lore, for me this movie is awesome! Warcraft lore deserves at least 5 movies, it's a very big thing.

One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.
If you are NOT a fan or knowledgeable about the Warcraft universe, it comes off as yet another fantasy movie, or a worse clone of Lord of the Rings.
If you are a MASSIVE lore-nerd (i mean in a good way), then it will probably upset you because some liberties were taken with the Lore, such as Doomhammer. (Doomhammer was a friend of Durotan's, but he was in a different clan -- but is that point worth noting, given that a movie only has a couple hours to get a story across? The whole bit with Lothar's son people felt was not worth the time it took - and i agree - but further trying to differentiate and explain the Orc clans and their interlationships would have been like making a star wars movie about trade negotiations or other such horseshit, and who'd do that right? .....)
If you are a fan of Warcraft, then you will have an amazing time - have fun with all the references/easter eggs, and it's obvious that Duncan Jones was himself a fan of the world. He did, in my opinion, a great job -- at least, as great of a job as any video game movie can do (that's an entirely different rant and discussion, but I do not believe ANY movie about a video game makes a good movie, and never will - literally impossible due to differences in medium and storytelling.)
And that's where I stand. I love Warcraft - the game, the world. I'm a fan of the lore, but i'm not a "Lore Guy". The movie was designed, I think, with a very specific audience in mind, and not necessarily for mass appeal. I'm glad it did as well as it did, and I hope it gets a sequel.

Why does an all CGI movie make it a kids movie? They can make animated stuff aimed at older audiences. We've watched entirely CGI cutscenes in video games for almost two decades or so now. Why does having real actors in it make it for adults? I could care less if Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt's face is in a movie. If the movie is good then it is good, regardless of whether it is live action or animated. For something like World of Warcraft I don't see how having real actors benefits the subject matter. The setting and the characters are for the most part all otherworldly or heavily stylized. It's not like Game of Thrones where it's just a bunch of people in a medieval setting with some dragons and zombies thrown in.
It was amazing! And I'm not a fan of SF movies usually but the effects were brilliant. I hope they make sequel because I enjoyed it sooo much. Probably gonna watch it again at some point. Loved the progression of the story and fighting scenes.

People like to relate. Easier to relate to real people is all

The tendency of shooting actors in all kind of movies comes from the late 60's. People didn't care about a plot twists or scenario itself, they went to the cinema to see stars they like. Later, even sport Intercepted this feature and for example NBA made their own stars, so people went to the arena to watch their favourite players. They also were not really interested in team chemistry or coach work of balancing things on court. People, who actually buy tickets, go to see the show featuring stars they love. So what i am saying here is that every movie has actors who attract people to watch the movie.

Yeah, like wtf.

Take for example the last part of the Fast and Furious. This entire franchise (besides 2 first parts) is a complete shit pile with a turbo stupid scenario, stupid behavior of characters and senseless effects. BUT! It have a strong actor line up. How much money they got from release? I'll tell you. Over a BILLION dollars.

So is there any leaks about second part of the movie? I heard that our CN friends had some rumors about it.
I liked it. It was simple, to the point and not pretentious. Didn't try to be anything it wasn't.
The only problem was too much Ally love.
FOR TEH HORDE!!!

Overall the movie was a steaming pile. Lothar's kid and that whole thread should have been left on the cutting room floor.
But there were a few good seconds . I can watch Medivh cast that spell in the forest over and over. BOOM!
hello
Loved it. Watched it a couple times.
