So he spent the entire battle just delaying till he had exactly 2 sorcerer's apprentice's, 2 molten reflections, and archmage antonidas... then used a the sorcerer's, copied them, played the archmage, used one free spell and then had an infinite supply of free fireballs.
Whats worse is I had just barely left him with one hp after a bloodlust attack and he was out of cards completely in his deck. Literally the only shenanigans possible that could have saved him... just wow.

I "had" 27 hp left.
This is Quest Mage... You gotta realize you're playing against it, and play accordingly, breaking through or teching against their ice blocks.
I literally did everything I could to win faster. He never actually used an ice block. I unfortunately lost my main army to freeze/doomsayer because out of 10 turns I didn't draw either hexes. Really bad match for me overall.
I love Quest Mage even though it does lose a bunch and that's just the thing to remember: even though this person beat you one time, there is a solid chance he lost a few games prior. I know it doesn't help but at least it's something.
It's kind of about striking a balance between putting on pressure and not over-extending as well. Sometimes bad draws happen and there isnt much you can do though.
I ran into this on the first or second day of Un'Goro launch and was pretty angry and cried "Broken!". It's only happened once since then and I've faced that deck a ton. It's pretty tough to pull off, so when they do, a shoot a sincere well played and watch as they get blow me to smithereens.

I just created quest Mage, I got the combo off in my first game (against a friends quest Druid) and it felt great, I haven't brought the deck to ranked or casual yet. I'm also missing a ton of important cards though, such as a second DOOMSAYER or either primordial glyph
It's the 'Exodia mage' pretty standard deck, quite powerful if it hit's all the pieces. Not really that hard to beat if you have the right deck, face is the place, Eater of Secrets is the tech

I play that deck religiously and believe me that deck is weak to aggro, and loses most match ups. Surprisingly Shaman is a good match up, but the same goes for freeze mage as well.
A well placed dirty rat wrecks this as well. They need 7 cards for the combo of which 3 are minions. Pull one of them late in the game for a c-c-c-combo breaker.

It's 5 cards + the quest reward.
Plus a spell to get the first fireball, so 7 cards in total.
No the optimal play is to play one molten reflection with Archmage in the following turn. 2 sorccer apprentices (4 mana) + one molten reflection (2 mana) + Time wrap (2 mana). Next turn molten reflection costs 1 mana.

Not really a shenanigan, that's his win condition, stall and get infinite damage or kill you with giants, that's Quest Mage.

Don't feel bad. This is one of the coolest ways to lose.

Infinite damage is as stupid as infinite Jades. I hope the dude behind those ideas gets fired before next expansion.
Yeah it's just quest mage. Not a bug if that's what you thought it was.
*grabs a pokeball lol

The pleasant dreams I once had were obliterated by the meta...

Your like the hundredth person to complain about this

I exist, I think.
