Twice today I played against 2 guys that roped every turn while spamming emotes. It is so fucking annoying. To top it all off, they were playing aggro decks. There should be a time penalty to reduce their turn down to >50 seconds.
It sucks to play vs retards that rope u for no reason, but what u r suggesting would 1) not be possible 2) would never ever be implemented, cause its not "fun" and "customer-friendly" 3) would not be fair to a lot of ppl, who might rope cause of dc or that thay had to go afk for a minute etc.
Just take a break after game like that and calm your nerves and then go and play again later on ;-)
I agree with OP - rope abuse is rampant and completely unnecessary from a design perspective.
Turn time should be reduced - rather a lot - with perhaps the option for each player to have 1, maybe 2, nominated "long" turns each game. Having to watch the other guys rope burn is ridiculous turn after turn - and I don't care whether they are mental retards who need to "think", streamers wanting to maximise income like life coach, people who have the need to answer the door, or are kids BMing cause they're frustrated or antisocial asshats...
An alternative approach would be to have a "fast" game queue option so those who like quicker play can enjoy that, while the "thinkers" and stoners can play each other at the current glacial pace.
It's very interesting on these sorts of threads that a subset of people jump on to argue that long turns are completely necessary and unavoidable - total bullshit IMO - turn time was recently dropped from 90 s to 70 seconds... And everything is fine (apart from the roping). Turn time could be reduced further and life coach would just have to learn to play faster. He would and I doubt his win rate would alter much at all.
You were roped by aggro? There's no problem here. They're denying themselves ladder rank. The whole point of aggro is to win fast and early, but if they want to waste their time on roping, just surf the internet while you wait or something.
I understand that some people rope because of connection issues that's find, but I can't fucking stand it when the person rope every turn (including turn 1) just to SPAM the emotes.
I would like a slightly shorter turn length for earlier turns when you have a lot less options and shouldn't be using 70 seconds, but as far as trolls they won't go away, they will just find new ways to troll.
see I play very fast. I know what I'm going to do each turn.
Meanwhile, I'll let my opponents use their allotted time because that's ultimately my think time. It's like a game of chess. Someone will have to think more than 10 seconds to decide what they want to do with what they have left (in hand, on board, in deck), sometimes I even have to think things out.
I'm sorry that had to be your experience playing this game, most people don't take that long unless they have many different possibilities they could play their next turn.
Speaking about chess, there can be a chronometer thingy for fast play. Maybe Blizzard could implement a kind of option when tagging if you want speed games or default games. See my point ?
I don't play on smartphone and i'll probably never will so i can't really help but i think it can be useful for phone players to have a speed game option.

hi
You just played against life coach. Try to queue dodge him if you can
VS
How would the time penalty work? if it goes to ropes the first round, the time is shorter each consecutive round?
That means most people here would get a penalty since net deckers are trolls.

You could try to squelch your opponent.
If it was casual or tavern brawl, just concede. I'm not wasting time in a game when there is no penalty for losing and my opponent is a douche.
if they emote 4 times in a row then reduce their turn by x amount of seconds

Nothing you can do about it, just squelch him and watch some youtube videos while playing

herp
3 Easy steps to avoid BM and roping:
1st step: Squelch everyone
2nd step: At firts rope, rope back
3rd step: Repeat 2nd step, until opponent stops roping.
you may be actually playing his game.
Watch. Your. Beck.
Worked so far for me.
I have school and a job, I can't spend 30 minutes on 1 game.........

hi
All online games that I played you can report someone, though you can't do it yet in Hearthstone.
Well I guess Hearthstone is an Anti-social game, there will be spam of reports.
