With the introduction of ranked rewards, it forces more people to play in casual mode instead of ranked mode if they want to keep their rank high for the rewards. This leads to a lot of people going into Casual mode to complete their daily quests. New players are supposed to go into Casual mode so they can stand a chance and not play against people who already have all the cards. Casual mode is also supposed to offer a place for people to play around with fun decks. Instead, what happens is that we get people who actually try hard with their Patron and Huntard decks, etc for easy wins so they can complete their quests more quickly.
I know that removing the ranked rewards would not fix the problem and only make things worse. Instead, I'm suggesting that they add a third playlist. Casual mode is now renamed to Unranked mode, and functionally stays the same. The third playlist is the 'new Casual' mode. Games in this new Casual mode would not reward any completion towards your quests, but instead, would provide a much more friendly environment to those who aren't looking to compete with tournament level decks. People who still want to get their daily quests done can still play in Unranked mode, and the Casuals can actually play for fun with their 'crappy' decks.
EDIT: Regardless of the fact that the game remembers your highest rank for that season, I feel like this change would make Casual mode more Casual. While I don't disagree with what most people are saying, I think they're missing the point.
Actually, you keep the highest earned ranked chest at the end of the month, so if you hit 5 then tanked to 20 or something you'll still get the rank 5 sea chest.

This is false. You keep the chest at which your highest rank was. If you went to rank 1 before but dropped to 20, you'll get the rank 1 reward. So your problem isn't there to begin with.
Your ranked rewards are based on your highest ranked achieved, so it doesn't matter even if you drop rank.
Nevertheless, it does affect it in some ways because players who are climbing and have not reached the milestone (rank15,10, or 5) will be more reluctant to play ranked with sub-optimal decks because it might set them back further in their climb to reach higher.
So OP is kinda right. More players are completing quests in casual, but not because they wanna keep their high rank, but because they don't want to drop too far down before reaching say rank 5.
I'm gonna be frank and you might get irritated with me but, you will never get your I only wanna play bad decks playlist. Even in your dumpster playlist, if I get sick of ranked and have no quest, there is nothing stopping me from taking my control warrior to roflstomp your playlist and there never would be a playlist where you could restrict good decks, sorry.
Even that the OP doesn't consider you save your highest rank, the OP has a point, kinda. If you are already at your highest rank, you may not want to rank down so you won't try harder to beat your record. But even if that's the case, I don't think this will affect the casual that much. I was doing that before the chest has been added.

What the heck are you talking about?? Can you explain it differently?

If you're happy and you know it... well that's good :)
Im going to get into casual mode and put all the fancy legendarys and epics i have in a deck and keep conceding until i see a goldshire footman opening, ill proced to show off my collection and crush all the dreams and hopes of a new player completely ripped apart by the size of my wallet.

You don't have to keep the high rank for the whole month. It remembers your highest.

What are you talking about? You do NOT have to hold your rank to get the reward. It rewards you for the highest rank reached that month.

The award is depending on your highest rank reached each season, not the actual rank so... what's the point?

Your contribution to the thread and your avatar speak for themselves.
To the OP, the ranked reward is obtained once the player gets to X rank and stays that way until same player can surpass the rank.
People were tryharding in casual mode with facehunter and patron warrior waaaay before ranked rewards were introduced.
Yes you can tank down to 20 to "farm" but why would you when you are trying to reach legend? His original point is still valid.
I guess people need to complain about something...
Casual mode have never been casual. Even before the rewards.
