I just saw KRUPS deck for TGT tempo mage and I realised that I'm only missing 3 cards to make the deck. These cards are: Archmage Antonidas, Rhonin and 1 Arcane Blast.
Out of the 30 cards required for the deck, I'm missing only 3. The dust cost for the whole deck is at 8220 to craft. In order to complete it though, I have to pay 3600 dust. That's almost half the dust of the deck's complete cost! However, the card number acquired is not equivalent at all with the expense.
Now don't get me wrong, I have plenty of dust to craft each card x3.
My question is: Do you think that Blizzard should consider decreasing the dust amount required to craft higher rarity cards in the future? (e.g from 1600 for legendaries to 1200)
Especially since we get so many expansions each year, some people don't have time or money to even get close in completing the first set of their collection (not to say anyhting about golden).

Thats okey. If you want to make some CW deck and missing just FEW cards, like 3-4, but all of them are legendaries, you have to waste half of the dust price of this deck. Blizzard wont make any discnount on crafting cards, 1600 for leg and 400 for epic is good in my view. Thanks God its not 2000 and 500 :)

Yeah I agree, it could have been worse. But what are your thoughts for the future? Would you prefer to have something like that or still 1600 dust would be enough?

I'd rather have 1600 and 400, but then TGT launched and I opened 100 packs I got ~9000k dust with golden legendaries and extra dust and now I'm starting to think that 1600 isnt enough for "old" players but too much for "newbies". Im supposed to think that Blizz found that exact amount of dust that is more then excellent
You also have to consider that if Blizzard reduce the cost, they will lose in money balance. It's just economy like many said.
Yeah I thought of that. That's why I put it in the future when we'll have to complete sets from multiple expansions and Blizzard will already have made so much money out of them.

I think most people forget that this game is a collection game too. If it will be too easy to get the cards the collection aspect will be ruined.
Collectors loves rare things, that are hard to get. And don't forget, collectors are those who invest in their hobby and willing to do in the long term. These people are very important customers for any business involved in collecting hobby.
I'm a 8 month player so I had to catch up. I didn't complain, I came later it is simple as that. No one should get any advantage just because they wake up later. But all the hard work in collecting the cards (most of them, I don't have a complete collection) gives me so much joy the same like playing and winning with my own decks.
And to be even more harder, I choose the golden cards route. So, when I want to craft a legendary 3200 is in my calculations and is very painful :). But, still, I think the current amount of craft/disenchant dust is quite fair. Maybe the ratio for golden epic can be better.
I grind a lot and pay around 600 euro and still miss some cards (nongolden ofc, I'm light years away from golden collection) but I'm happy I have something to work on.
What this game need is the reduction of the ration between crafting cost and dusting income. If i have to use 1600 dust to craft and i get back 400 dust for disenchanting one the thing don't work. Why do i need to disenchant 4 legendaries to get a single legendary or 4 epics for a single epic? It's ok if the legendary cost 1600 dust, if for example you get 700-800 dust disenchanting one. It's not ok if you get 400.
Why 700-800, but not 500-600? Or 900-1000? Why not 853?

Because 800 is a 1:2 ratio and 700 is close enough?
So 1:4 is not okay but 1:2 is okay? What about 1:3?
Typically these Pay to Play games will offer some noob packages at a reduced cost to speed up a players development. Something like 20 bucks for 20 packs and 400 dust, but you can only buy it one time.
They will also introduce lower costs for older content to allow people to catch up. So it would look something like this: End of this year, they reduce crafting costs of Goblins v Gnomes by say 25-50 percent. Then the following year after the release of the next expansion, they do the same thing to the grand tournament cards...etc.
This way a new player can get the cards he requires for a certain deck easier after waiting an appropriate amount of time. The long time player has the advantage of having had those cards for up to a year before the newer player.

@ Giorg. It is just supposition, I have been playing F2P games for years and have seen this many times. If you don't offer new players a path to catch up, the game will stop attracting them due to the massive time/money investment it takes to become competitive. Hearthstone has some advantages though, it is hella fun and things like tavern brawl and arena offer balanced duels to those with small cardpools.
@ Tate. Yes, I was mainly responding to others in the thread, and offering my opinion on how that implementation might look.
I wonder where all this numbers come from and who justifies them... 1:4 is a rip-off but 1:2 isn't? Thinngs should be cheaper, but by only this much and not that much?
It just feels like a bunch of crybabies wanting things to be cheaper and they add in random numbers just to mask the fact that it is nothing more than "OMG Blizz make crafting easier so that i can F2P!!!!1!1!!!1!1!!!52883)1!!!oneseventythreesome!!!12".

Chill man. The thread is targeting the future, maybe as a possible way for Blizzard to help newbies.
Kezwik, GrokTV and 3nnui have the best answers (if you wish to check them) and are right on target of the thread...

Not quite so sure that they can offer a reduced cost for certain sets.
The reason is crafting. A Classic Legendary gives you 400 dust, same as a TGT legendary. However, if the classic set costs less then it means you can get more dust for less cost than getting other sets. That's a pretty hefty advantage towards paying vets. When a new expansion comes out, afte ryou get boosters for the commons/rares, you'll be best off spamming Classic packs for the maximum dust returns per dollar, then crafting new sets with it. Which is less worthwhile for F2Pers who can't buy that way and are doing arena runs anyway (thus even a gold reduction won't benefit them).
Personally, I think the current plan is better overall: more ways of earning gold and more ways of earning packs.

Umm... the game is not supposed to be measured by whether every single player in the world can immediately craft some stupidly expensive deck they saw on some website. That's kinda the whole point of having a "collection" which has some cards and lacks others.
It is a bit like the question: Should Blizzard lower the price of the card pack?
I do not think they ever will lower their prices on anything. But we have allready seen some ways that they have introduced better/new ways to get free stuff, so it seems that, that will be there solution on the new player problem.
But if the crafting prices where lowered, then it might help diverse the meta. If people gets the resources to build different decks, the latter might not be as monotone, as it sometime seems.

They should make common cost 1 dust to craft, rare cost 2 dusts, epic 3 dusts, and legendary cost 5 dust.
That's my random number generator for today.
