2 ) It's a pretty slow card (costing 3-mana more then Dr. Boom is quite slow).
3 ) It's RNG based... even if you are running a lot of late threaths like CW can afford to... you won't be able to reliably pull out a huge threath more then often.
4 ) On turn 10... the pace of the game is usually either in your favor or in the favor of the enemy. It's more of a win-card and it's not an amazing comeback Legendary.
Of course... it's pretty damn powerful. That's why it's costed at 10-mana...

Lol this leg is broken as fuck, even if you draw into spell and not minion, it's like "battlecry: Draw 3 card". Ancient of lore is 5/5, 7 mana, 2 cards. For only 3 mana you can draw 1 more you have +2/+2 and you can instantly play the minions you draw
If you play Varian you should have an appropriate deck (with less than 10 spell), so most of the time you will play 2 minions or more in addition of varian, which is fking broken, it's like "Play this card + some minions you don't even have in hand"
That's what a card costing 10-mana should do. What would be the point of playing if it was doing something that others cards could easily do ? Nothing. Thanks for your input still. We feel your lack of good points.

This actually also pushes taunt warrior, in a way. If you play a taunt heavy deck, getting two or three extra taunts could pull you back into the game a little. Also, in heavy control, the game's result may still be under consideration, making this tip the scales. Otherwise, yeah win more or nothing much.

This is absolutely not what a 10 mana shoud do. Let's take an example:
Only the body of Varian worth 7 mana, you draw into a 3 mana minions, so you have 10 mana on board, at this point you already have an extra value, because you played a 7 mana and a 3 mana with ONE card of your hand, BUT on top of that you drew 2 more card. And a 3 mana minion is the less you will have because you play Varian in a wallet warrior so the chance to play anoter legendary is very high. Into only one Ysera it will be like 16 mana worth + the 2 cards you draw
Ok it's maybe not the best card ever, but it's a top tier for sure, it can't be countered by sheep/sap/silence/thechamansheep
That's what you are supposed to get out of a 10-mana card. Stop being that foolish. This card is perfectly fine where it is. Quite strong... but needs a whole turn (and 10-mana) to make it way onto the board. It's quite slow... if you are behind on board you might not be able to play this card for a long time... because you'll be dead.
You need to start looking more then just what the card could brought in an ideal setup.

Just to note, btw, it heavily limits what cards you can put in your deck as he nukes battlecries. Alex losing her 15 damage blast just to play as a giant isn't that wonderful. Dr.Boom loses his boom bots, which is what makes him worthwhile. Grom would actulaly be not that great since you have no mana to trigger him and give your opponent time to deal with him. Assuming 2-3 high end legendaries is rather extreme given that you DO need a lot of weapons/spells/cheaper minions to run even a legendary spammy deck.
And 10 mana, then sit a turn is a death sentence against combo/aggro if you arent' careful.
Not saying he's not awesome. I AM saying that you can't just auto-in him in a normal warrior deck. Even the old 6 legendary control warrior of the past would stink here. You'd need a new deck that can handle using him properly AND survive that long AND win even if you don't pull him or if he wiffs.
That's a far cry from Boom 2.0. Jaraxxus is probably more appropriate.
I really hate when people for a Draw effect say "it's rng based" , ffs it's a card drawing game, it is a core part of it, you CAN'T call card that draws card from your deck rng based. You put those cards there, and by turn 10 you will be deep into your deck, so you know what are the odds to draw specific cards from the remaning part of you deck.
Dr boom advantage is that he is neutral, so he fits in every deck ( tirion is not cancer right?) and he requires nothing to pull, therefore good in every deck. Agro, control you name it.
Varian however would make you change quite a lot of your deck in order to work.it would also cancel battlecries which warrior uses a lot, so he will fet far less fron them.
Maybe this card is good, but he doesnt fit into every warrior deck. Just a specific wallet one.
Introducing Varian Boom, the new and improved version of Dr.Boom. Battlecry : Summon Ragnaros and Ysera by your side instead of 2 1/1 Boom Bots.
I think TGT is making a good case for me to put that Golden Deathwing in my decks.
im with this guy. T7 play, pls?
that plus a 7/7 + an acolyte of pain isnt rly better than a 7/7 + 2x Shadow Bolts (for 0 mana)

Yes, I'm sure the 10 mana class legendary with a totally uncontrollable effect will be completely broken and overpowered. -_-
Have a great deck that's really, really cheap? Help the new players out
Nope.
1 ) Varan can't be played by every class.

The Varian Wrynn is really ridonculous broken. I know in WoW lore he has major presence but to make him this broke in HS as well.
Even if he manage to summon just 1 Armorsmith, the additional cards draw mechanic is too broken.
I think Hearthstone should fix that. The card draw be placed back to the deck if it's not minion. Otherwise the value... Auto golden craft...

wow, frothing at the prospect of this guy in my control warrior deck, auto-include for sure.
You could not be more wrong.

I certainly hope that by the time we've played a bit of TGT, players can once again spell the 9th class correctly as well as remember the name of Hex.
How interesting
