So as the topic suggest i have a hard time to decide what would be the best option here. Since december 2014 i have opened 23 legendaries and therefore i can play all classes. Though miss several gvg and classic legendaries, i have the most important ones. As for my main class to play its paladin but i am able to switch it so many times now for warrior, warlock, druid, etc. I'm torn apart between crafting:
Dark Wispers / Earth Elemental / Snake Trap / Hobgoblin / Feign Death
... important? Not really bro. Of course it depends on the decks you wanna play, but these cards are only played in specific decks where these cards have a place and are not pushed aside by better cards.
Shaman is my favorite class and every month or so I try putting Earth elemental in, and always end up removing it. Too many downsides when every deck is running BGH.
None of the epics you are missing are really worth crafting unless you have a certain deck archetype in mind. They are not the class staples, like Cabal is for priest or Lore is for druid.
Out of the legendaries, Sneed's is the most fun to play out of that list. I have Troggzor in a few decks and it works really well against some classes like rogue, but against others it effectively serves as a 6/6 taunt, playing a similar role as Sylvanas.
While it does depend on what you want to play, if it's a close call, I would always err on the side of crafting the rarer cards, because it is less likely that you will open duplicates of them at a later time.
Vol'jin is probably the best legendary in that list. If you play Priest at all I'd recommend him. I also really likeNeptulon, but that's more because I love Murlocs than anything else. He's a BGH target but he does refill your hand.
None of the epics you listed are particularly useful in my experience. MaybeSea Giant if you play a lot of zoo.
Having a complete deck without legendaries is better than having legendaries, but incomplete deck. Craft every common, rare and epic you need for your deck and then you can go with generic legendaries.
Crafting commons (and, to a lesser extent, rares) is a very inefficient way to build your collection in the long run.
Not really. Ultimately, other than the beginning of each season while people are sorting themselves out, nobody's win rate ends up much above 50%, because if you do any better than that you will be promoted to a rank with better players. And you can comfortably maintain a circa 50% win at rank 18-20 using just the starter cards, so really busting a gut to craft a 'competitive deck' is not going to earn you gold any faster. But it will waste dust in the long run, because over the months you will end up opening about 20 copies of that common you just crafted and turning them back into (much less) dust.
If those are the only choices you should craft Neptulon if you like playing Shaman according to me. Most of the epics you listed isn't that important and/or gimmicky. Hobgoblin decks can probably be fun, but basing a deck around 2 cards is a deck that is not likely to work most of the time.
Not everybody farms gold at rank 20 you know? Some people just want to play normally while still getting gold for packs and completing the collection. Also even at rank 20 you earn gold much faster and easier with decent deck than with basic shit, don't act a fool.
Unfortunately it is you who is looking like a fool here.
It is not easier and faster to earn gold at level 20 with a decent deck. Or rather it would be if you stayed at level 20, but if your deck is good then you won't. You will rise through the ranks until you reach a point where your competitive deck is now merely average and so you will win no more games than if you played a less-good deck at a lower ranking.
I mean come on, this should be pretty obvious. You think you can just build a Facehunter deck and maintain an 80% win rate all month?
(Edit: Before anyone says it, yes you could do that by deliberately throwing games and staying at 20, but that's not what we're discussing here)
I'm not sure you even know what your argument is any more. The last post you made you said "not everybody farms gold at rank 20 you know? Some people just want to play normally while still getting gold for packs and completing the collection" but now you seem to have turned completely about-face and are proposing conceding games to stay at the bottom ranks farming newbies with a net deck. Are you actually trying to advance the discussion here, or just win the argument, because it sure seems like the latter.
Let me try to say this as unambiguously as possible:
Assuming you don't grief newbies by deliberately tanking your rank and farming the lower ranks, you won't win significantly more games on the ladder by crafting a good deck because after a time find your level and your win rate will return to circa 50%.
It's efficient if you are still a new player and you don't have your deck to play yet. You need gold for packs and arena and for earning gold you need at least semi-competitive deck.
The OP has been playing for over a year and has picked up 23 legendaries. He's not a new player.
Though ot note, for a NEW player, this would work out. You first need that one starting deck, which is why you want it to be CHEAP since crafting commons/rares IS a poor use of dust. Thus Zoo, Patron, Face hunter are recommended. The SECOND you hvae a deck that can at least do well enough for rank 15 then you STOP crafting common/rares and start on the legendaries with PERHAPS the exception if you are ONE card away from making a particularly interesting deck.
@ OP. General rule is that legendary crafting is the most efficient use of dust. Thus only craft epics if they are the only thing remaining that you need fo r aparticular deck. The only epics I can see even a consideration for is Snake trap, but that's not really necessary enough to warrant crafting.
Legendary wise, Voj is a good card for Priest so I'd go with that. Then either Sneeds if you like to boost your ramp druid or Nep if you want to do shaman more. I crafted Trog. I love Trog. Trog is DEAD LAST of the ones on that list for you.
Not really. Ultimately, other than the beginning of each season while people are sorting themselves out, nobody's win rate ends up much above 50%, because if you do any better than that you will be promoted to a rank with better players. DropDeadCynical wasn't suggesting farming at rank 20. He was saying that for gaining gold, in the long run it's mostly just playing that counts, not how good you / your deck is, because eventually, for most people (i.e. unless you're really good or really bad), your rank will settle somewhere where your win percentage is around 50%.
i feel like priest is more difficult to play than shamman but still Vol'jin is the second best legendary from the expansion. However, Neptulon creates so much possible late game value and makes shaman more interesting to play. The problem is that i lack some shaman epics. I've got 1x Far Sight, 1x Ancestor's Call and no earth elementals and i'm affraid there will be a problem later on to establish a good shaman deck because i might not have the cards required to do it :/ As for the priest, i've got all class cards there and building a deck will be much easier because i don't have to worry that i won't have a card of some sort to complete the deck.
Troggzor the Earthinator is nice for this meta with all the tempo mages on the ladder - currently half of 10 rank and the ladder is flooded with mages -_- . The problem with him is that he is a 7-drop and unfortunately dr ballanced outperforms him as a 7-mana drop
For the record im not so new to this game i play it since the end of closed beta. Its just that some people have luck and money to buy packs and getting great stuff from each pack - i don't have that luck in this game. As i mentioned earlier, december was a huge breakpoint in getting good stuff because since then i stopped playing arenas and instead i was buying packs and this was the right move for me. My first topic on this forum was what to craft as my first legendary sylvanas or ragnaros. It was just before the end of the year. Now i have all important ones nearly all class legendaries, all rares, commons, and almost all epics. 49 legends in total with BRM and NAXX. For a person who spent 350 euro and lots of gold on packs/arenas/adventures is a quite good score.
Anyway, troggzor, voljin or neptulon? ill change the poll. Thx again for feedback you guys are awesome.
Hi everyone!
So as the topic suggest i have a hard time to decide what would be the best option here.

Vol'jin
Troggzor the Earthinator
Neptulon
Sneed's Old Shredder
Every legendary but sneed's is favored here. Sneed's is fun to play but i'm affraid it's 2late in this meta.
As for the epics my collection lack 7 important ones:
Dark Wispers x2
Sea Giant x2
Bane of Doom x2
Earth Elemental x2
Snake Trap x2
Hobgoblin x2
Feign Death x2
My playstyle is like midrange-controlish, but sometimes i play aggro aswell when im in a hurry or need to blow off some steam :D
So what do you think i should craft here?
Dark Wispers / Earth Elemental / Snake Trap / Hobgoblin / Feign Death
... important? Not really bro. Of course it depends on the decks you wanna play, but these cards are only played in specific decks where these cards have a place and are not pushed aside by better cards.

Have a great deck that's really, really cheap? Help the new players out

Crafted Vol'jin - close the thread :)
