If Blackrock Mountain is the next Hearthstone adventure (If you believe the latest rumors) What kind of themes are we looking for the next group of cards released?
Going by what I know about the place, it's made up of two distinct areas: The Upper spire and the Blackrock Depths.
The Upper spire is home to Nefarian (Black Dragon son of Deathwing) and his army of Blackrock Orcs and Dragon kin. It holds the Blackrock clan's armory, The black dragon's hatchery, alchemy labs for breeding/creating a brand new dragon flight (The Chromatic flight) that combines the powers of all five flights, a gladiator's Arena, and Nefarian's throne room. Also it is the home of The Beast.
The Blackrock Depths are home to the Dark Iron clan which is being held indentured to none other than Ragnaros, whom he himself resides even deeper in the heart of the Molten Core. So we are looking at the entirety of the Dark Iron kingdom with all the resources they come with (foundry, armory, battle arena, throne room, etc.) in adition to the fire/earth elemental army from the Core. It is the home of current Hearthstone favorites Ragnaros the Firelord and Baron Geddon.
It's likely we are looking at a fire theme for this adventure. lots of Black and Chromatic dragons. Orcs and Dark iron dwarves. We may be looking at maybe a new soldier or elemental designation for minions. Maybe Draconic/dragon kin as well.
I can only imagine what legendaries and favorites we can expect from this adventure. I'm genuinely enthused about what the Hearthpwn community can produce as they make up new possible cards and mechanics for this adventure. Thoughts?
The one problem I have with this theory: if we go by the rules set by naxramas, every final boss that we faced we received a legendary card of that boss. Sure, Blackrock mountain isn't organized into distinct wings like naxramas(in fact there isn't many places organized as conveniently as nax), but we already own cards like The Beast, Baron Geddon, and Ragnaros the Firelord. How are they going to reward us for defeating them if we already have their card? And they definitely can't send us into Blackrock without facing Rag, that would upset plenty of fans.
As a Vanilla WoW player i love the Blackrock, a lot awesome memories. One of the best looking places. The 4 dwarves are awesome, all the fire and so on :)
maybe after facing Ragnaros, you get another version of Ragnaros not the classic one? or maybe a natural spell that gives a minion the effect of Ragnaros?
Oooh I like the way you think. Legendary weapons. Sulfuras for Warrior, Lohk'delar for Hunter, Benediction for Priests, Thunderfury for Pallies... And the most legendary of them all:
I actually think it would be nice to do an Icecrown Citadel adventure. It would make sense that after we have defeated Kel' Thuzad, we go to take on his master. There are enough bosses in the raid to have a hearthstone expansion + none of them are legendary cards yet. A good amount of dragons are in that raid, allowing opportunities for cards with dragon synergies to be produced.
[Plus if Blizzard ever wanted to introduce a death knight hero Icecrown Citadel would be the way to do it ;)]
It would be cool to face an AI opponent that only played Rags, or faceless copies of Rags. You'd have to keep the board flooded to decrease the chances of being hit in the face and there wouldn't be enough big minion removal to simply take them all out that way. It would be a fun challenge.

Let's get salty!

Fuck, I kept spamming BRM during WOTLK just because of the fun, lol
I am happy with this subtle announcement.

I could see them making you face Ragnaros, and being rewarded with a (different) minion card, as opposed to a legendary.
But, just to fight Rag for the mechanics of the matchup, in the adventure.

This is what I'm expecting. Something like:
Heroic Ragnaros
10 mana 10/10:
At the end of each turn deal 5 damage to two random enemies.
I don't know anything about WoW lore (besides watching a few YouTube vids), but I am still stupid excited about this.
Feel free to add me if you play on NA! iMPose#1429
Sulfuras, anyone?
We already have Ragnaros.
Used to be a proud Handlock player.
Legend 17 times.
Still flirting with the ladder from times to times with Renolock.
Gotta read his post.
He said "Heroic Ragnaros". As in, that would be the name of the card. Not standard "Ragnaros the Firelord".
No point in having two Ragnaros ? It's just stupid.

Majordomo Executus.
Set me aflame and cast me free; Away you wretched world of Tethers.
There are a lot of cards in WoW TCG that represents the same character, but have different names and effects.

Rag is going to be a class fight for the legendary warrior weapon, Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnoras!
Same here :)

Nefarian has already been in the wowtcg with this effect:
Could we perhaps see him in Hearthstone as something like this?
Probably would be broken at 8 mana but even if they up it to 10 I'd still totally play this in constructed.
