What ever happened to the WoW TCG? I don't think I ever got the full story. They revoked the license? Canceled? Bankruptcy? And how did it play? Was it like Magic? What was combat like?
wow. 8 cost, 2 bodied 16/16. even at 10 cost, that would still be a hell of a card. i could potential see it being changed to "deathrattle: summon onyxia" just so it would be easier to combat with silence and such. at that point, it could be comparable to sneed's shredder, just you are always guaranteed an 8/8 body out of it with no effect.
Rag is going to be a class fight for the legendary warrior weapon, Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnoras!
Doesn't make all that much sense to do that. In Naxxramas, the class fights were just re-used bosses/enemies from the regular NAxx with a special pre-made class deck that you had to fight it with.
Also, I'd expect Rag to be the end boss of the entire adventure, just as KT was the final one in NAxx. Ragnaros would be the narrator of the event, with all the underlings being preludes to facing off against him.
It wont be blackrock mountain, if they want to keep it simliar to naxx, it would be something more along the lines of ICC
Well. According to dataminers it will indeed be BlackRock. Like it or not.
Clear information, from the 3 card backs. One for the upcoming season with a Ragnaros (Molten Core/BlackRock) theme, plus 2 more which come with a purchase. One of which is called "Molten Core". I think that stands as convincing evidence.
Nefarian has already been in the wowtcg with this effect:
Could we perhaps see him in Hearthstone as something like this?
Probably would be broken at 8 mana but even if they up it to 10 I'd still totally play this in constructed.
At 10 mana that would actually be a playable late game finisher, unlike Deathwing. It would end the game if not dealt with, like expensive cards should.
just want to say as a vanilla MC/BWL raider, i am in support of this! My guild was one of the first to down Rag and Nef on our server and it was awesome fun back then! I just worry that they will make it too easy!!!!! Back then we wiped on a single boss for WEEKS at a time if not months!!!!(Vaelestrasz you JERK!!!) i hope to not blast through this content in days.

Upper Deck Entertainment had the license until they lost it in 2010. Blizzard discontinued it in 2013 because they had Hearthstone on the way.
Sadly never played it myself, but it looked really cool. Of course, I say that about all TCGs by UDE and then I just grow to hate them.

I doubt we'll ever see a card like that since death wing is a 12/12 for 10 with a huge drawback; this is basically summoning a 16/16 for 10 with no drawback

WoW TCG is way superior because it is much more complex. Btw, at least it ended with a very badass block.
I just hope they don't introduce another card similar to Undertaker.
I realize that Blizzard is a company above all else, and logically people need an incentive to buy the adventure, but if they again leave a totally broken card untouched for half a year (probably in order to keep the sales up) then I'm looking for another game.

WoW TCG is very different from Hearthstone, which makes it hard to make cards with the same effect-cost relation.

Even at 10 mana that Nefarion would be broken. Considering a 8/8 is 8 mana (Ironbark Protector), getting another 8/8 for just 2 mana sounds insane.

Just remembering you guys that WoW TCG had a Molten Core raid.

Dr. Ragnaros
8 mana 8/8 - at the end of turn deal 10 damage to a random character
Some guy made a full set of legendaries for Blackrock Mountain, compete with tokens and all.
And he published this set, 2 days ago. That's before the dataminers had any clue/inkling of a BlackRock Mountain Adventure. Hmmmmmmmm...
Gets you thinking, eh?

lol do you really believe that they will make all their adventures similar (undead theme) ?
Time is money, friend.
