Tl;dw: the biggest problem with the game isn't it's p2w nature, it's that it uses predatory monetisation techniques designed specifically to prey upon those with addictive personalities, or kids with their mom's credit card etc.
I mean dude, from what I read, that $110000 number was some low-level math from somebody that didn't even played the game and didn't have the information...
And you can do the same analysis with almost any MMORPG game that has paid currencies or currencies that can be converted to real money in some way (like EVE Online). I mean, the last one is considered one of the best MMORPGS of the history. And you can't play it if you don't spend 12hs per day. Ships can cost up to 30k...
I think this can be reduced to 4 things:
Fake news, due to the misinformation and TERRIBLE communication from part of Blizzard.
Blizzard hate wave on which we are since the past years, and kept growing more and more due to the last issues.
HORRIBLE balance and testing. This is common rule for all Blizz games. If you never noticed this, you never played a Blizz game lol. Not saying this is good, but it's not as terrible as targeting on addictive persons... This game has a drop system based on your level. I think the rates are just broken and you're getting equipment that is behind your actual level.
Indeed an excess of monetization, which sums to all of the previous things.

There is for sure a big issue with the monetization. Everything is so shady and if it will not become very clear in the short period*. I am already ready to close this game forever and to ask my money back (yes, I spend few bucks on it now but there is Apple in the middle of the transaction this time, so refund policy is the Apple's one and not the Blizz's terrible one. Sign Blizz :( Mobile game can be refunded on Apple Store, no Battle Net crap ;) ).
Anyway, for now and I enjoy it but if everything will remain so shady I will email shortly Apple.
*short period= 14 days from the date of the purchase in order to be eligible for the refund.

I'm sorry but your reply has absolutely nothing to do with my comment.
Anyway. What I am very curious to know about is the refund policy. Obviously, the Blizz's one is to go to fuck off (because they obviously are a company that cares about customers). Anyway, in all these transactions (because it is mobile) there is always another actor in the middle.
So, if I purchase something, and then I realize that I don't want it any more, Apple, Google or Amazon will give me back my money or no? That's a big question. In my experience, I received my money back thanks to Apple in transactions with Ubisoft.
Because if these polemics against this game will continue, Blizz is risking to receive massive requests for refunds from his clients. Anyway, I don't think so that Apple, Google or Amazon want to be associated with something "shady" that seems "gambling".
I already have gambling addiction in Hearthstone, non way I ever touch Diablo immortal, this game literally preys on stupid people like me.
I still remember when I bought legendary boots in Diablo 3 for like 40€ when the auction house still existed and legendary gear with good stats was incredibly rare. That is so absurd in restrospect, looking at what the game has become. And it took maybe a few months before that piece of gear was irrelevent anyway, didn't have to wait for the whole loot fiesta, just the level cap increase totally killed it.
I'm so fucking dumb and I make gaming worse for everyone, I know that but let me play that immor(t)al game for 30min and I WILL spend money.
it's not your fault, it's their fault. Blizzard has become a criminal company, even thou they were sold for Microsoft , still, are predating with these scams and fake games. Ppl are into this cause of the brand which is Diablo itself, not for the game anymore. Just trash, don't play, don't buy it. Let it die and wait for a new direction in the company.
I grew up playing Diablo 1 & 2, so naturally I hated Diablo 3. It wasn't Diablo. It went with the comically cartoon art style that Warcraft has (which suits Warcraft, not Diablo), and it was impossible to die in.
I didn't think they could dumb the game down any more than they did with 3, but by God, they somehow managed it with Diablo Immortal.
It is the very definition of the mobile game stereo type. Whip it out of your pocket when you have 20 minutes spare, mindlessly tap tap tap tap tap tap on your scree, feel like you've achieved something. No challenge.
My expectations for Diablo 4 are nil, that I won't bother to play it. This franchise has been murdered.
I also would like to underlay the shady/fraud that there was. With Cheng (the magic guy of "do you guys have phones") writing in the official forum, 4 months before the release: "There is no way to acquire or rank up gear using money".
He has doubled down on that statement because he is *technically correct*
You can't get items with money, you can only get access to better GEMS for your items.
Of course, the fact that gems are part of your gear (and probably the most important part) makes that statement shady and incenscere, but he's technically correct.
Anyway, I am already on the boat of the refund with Apple in order to have my 25€ back. This situation is too shady. My little hope is already all lost. So, HS is dead for me, Diablo Immortal also. At this point, I can only boycott Blizz for these shady/scams and all this mess that they made in the past years.
When I am screen mirroring from my iPad Pro to my TV for Diablo Immortal, there are two black bars on the sides. Is it possible to have the image increased in size to take these away??

I know a twitch streamer spent 10 grand and didnt get a single 5 star gem

Dude you sent one video that said that thing about a full character costing $110000...
Just play path of exile, now that’s a complicated game you’ll still be learning more after thousands of hours into the game.
I haven't.
Kind regards from Belgium.
Oh, you watched all 11 seconds of it?
Yeah, there's a few more minutes.
My thoughts and prayers for every human who supports diablo immortal.

Yes. He is technically correct for a shady/scam.
Apart from the Diablo IP, there is absolutely nothing about the development or implementation of this title that would entice me to play it.

Blizzard has become worse than EA. They have truly killed the brand.

Unfortunately, Blizz, this is so true. You do not only violence on your workers, and the women (for which you have a lawsuit), but also the customers.
When I am screen mirroring from my iPad Pro to my TV for Diablo Immortal, there are two black bars on the sides. Is it possible to have the image increased in size to take these away??
Played the first 2 minutes on an iPad.
Had an instruction that the device needs to be held with two hands for the rest of the game.
Lit a cigarette, took a sip of wine, and deleted.
What a chore!
