Today I decided to play naga DH for the first time since i tried most of the other class archetypes for the expansion. MY first match was against boar Priest. turn 3 played pyromancer with the card that steals minion health and a coin plus heal spell. he cleared my whole board while gained a huge pyro. he could clear my minions his boars and everything was smoother than a game of solitaire for him. How do you even counter that?
Eh, Boar priest is overrated. Can't handle most decks - it's purely a narrow hate deck, it seems. Like anything else, it loses to free Smites/gorehowls, 3 20+ damage burst turns back to back, and similar. Often it's slow - CW's OTKed me first, for example, because sometimes it's past T12, though critical turn seems to be around 10-11ish without northshire/pyro turns, which aren't too common. I suspect the relative weakness of the deck is just me not seeing the few great matchups - DH is one that the deck eats, much like CW should be with decent draws, from what I've heard.
You also, from the sounds of it, overextended into a wipe and got punished. How big a board to build is a skill, as is when to overextend.
Boar priest is geared to eat control warrior and demon hunter. You got countered. Boar priest loses to plenty other decks, bad ones too. Anyone that has ever played boar priest and queued into a celestial alignment Druid can vouch.
Boar Priest doesn't even beat Demon Hunter. The optimized deck that runs Bone Glaives and has a lot of damage from hand is definitely favored against Boar Priest (not by much, but for sure 55-45) if played correctly. For example not going all out on the board and playing into a Xyrella clear, but rather staggering threats while accumulating damage spells for a big burst before they can execute their combo
So it just happened to be unlucky i guess. I didnt go wild with minions but he kept clearing and i had some spells to go face but he had like 4 spells healing his face for 20 plus in between hero powers. Anyway! thanks for the replies

Makes sense - certainly a closer matchup than people expect if the DH isn't greedy (which, TBF, it sounds like the OP was if they died to WP/SW:Dev). I can't really comment on the winrates though, since I'm still learning Boaring priest. Running into supid misplays - not popping both boars before the first res is a stupid that I've done, for example, along with similar. Might be worth trying optimizations against that build - things like neutral taunts? Maybe even something like Priest of An'she (given the cheap burst heals), though annoy is an option to stall the big bursts. Currently got two flex spots, which are dungeoneers for more draw.
Y i know. I used the 2 minion that generates 1/1s. He cleared with pyro and played northshire the turn after. I couldnt clear pyro as it was 3/8. And he kept things out of control. Even drethkar couldnt save me turn 5. Anyway, just a bad luck for me and good for him. Also drethkar got out my lady s'theno so i had no combo potential later :/
I played all other decks I could think of from the expansion, even my own decks too. So, you say i shouldnt use the cards i got from packs just because everyone hates DH atm?
Frankly I'd not bother with neutral taunts that don't progress your game plan (you want to draw your good minions off Switcheroo) and focus on executing the plan as fast as possible. The deck runs 6 healing spells that heal you for a total of 26 for a mere 4 mana, I know DH can deal a ton of damage, but often not THAT much especially if they have to clear some of your minions too. In my flex spots I run 1 Cleric of An'she and 1 Zola. I really like Zola, sometimes you can get a 2nd Xyrella to your hand, but usually it can be used to play a 2nd boar early even if you haven't drawn both. This can really speed up your combo (means you can do it without drawing both boars or if you draw both boars as well then you don't have to upgrade either amulet more than once)
I don't play either deck but my intuition tells me DH should be favored if played correctly, i.e. don't go wide, take it slow and keep the Priest just low enough for a 20-30 damage Kurtrus + S'theno burst.

Don't play a deck full of 0 - 3 cost cards, you have plenty ways to otk us.
