I am not opening the game since May, maybe (or something like that). Therefore, I can only give you a macro impression. I am not playing this game any more because I am very disappointed about how they are running this game. It is always the same, without real improvements. It is also full of bugs. The new expansion? Come on. I am not interested at all in playing again C'Thun, I don't see these things appealing any more. And 50 bucks? For reprints? No. no. no. If they don't understand that this game needs far more, for me, it is dead. As I already said (in another post), there are also new opportunities with cloud gaming for players, and this game is old and has to become appealing also in this market. We are light years behind for me.
Then maybe this wouldn’t be the best post to answer to? You’ve been saying nothing but negative things about Hearthstone, and to choose to answer a question based on an expansion you haven’t played, and are not interested in playing, seems very off-topic.
As for OP, I like the expansion so far. We’ve had many more far less balanced launches of expansions in the past, and there are no blatantly OP decks. Sure, we’re not fully refined, but there are signs that all but 2 classes will have viable decks for laddering. I would like to see more buffs in the balance patch than nerfs. But to me, there are three clear targets for nerfs:
- Nightcloak Sanctum to 4 mana to make it compete with Cold Case;
- Vile Library to 3 mana, and maybe even change the text to “Give a minion +1/+1 for each Imp you control.”
- Guff to 6 or maybe even 7 mana. It’s time Team5, just do it. Orher suggestions such as gaining an empty mana crystal instead of a mana crystal would completely destroy the card.
Trump has an amazing F2P series on his channel, and I expect him to make the same one for Nathria. The thing that stands out isn’t the fact that he uses budget decks. It’s showing players that want or have to be F2P how to do that efficiently. He doesn’t use budget decks, but he focuses on just 1 or 2 normal decks.
There will always be an audience for budget decks, but in my experience, you get the lists from websites such as this. Videos showcasing them at length just doesn’t seem to resonate well.
I always want to play the decks that look strong, because it’s the best way to discover its weakness. From my own experience, both playing and facing it, it’s not as strong as forums would like you to believe.
It is however, extremely polarizing. If they highroll, there’s nothing you can do. Stuff like Illuminating an Essence is unbeatable for most decks. But if they lowroll, it’s a pathetic pile of cards with no synergy.
Thing is, there’s nothing as frustrating as losing a game you had no plays in. Hence why it’s these types of decks that always get the most hate. You remember the crappy games where you get blown out of, and forget the games you blow them out of.
It’s a shitty deck to have in the game, but as long as resurrect-cards get printed, we better get used to it. And while Big Priest is now stronger than it has been for a long time, it can be a complete pile of garbage if you can’t cheat out very early. And from playing it myself, that happens quite a bit. Can’t tell you how often I’ve had Beast Hunter or Pirate Rogue completely overrun me by turn 4.
Busted on 2, good on later turns. Only downside is how easy it will trigger, which may sound weird, but most conditional Secret cards require an active Secret.
50 or something, can't remember where is the last standard hero portrait, that's where I am, couldn't care less about all the cringe BG rewards, and gold is useless when you have money
lol, this thread - "I lose to DH, why does this class and it's hero power exist? I shouldn't lose ever, but definitely not to this!"
Let's be real, DH hero power is half as good as Druid's hero power, ergo "half the cost". It's fair, it's class appropriate and if you don't want to lose to DH right now, play Control Hunter and farm your free wins.
Excuse me sir, it seems you have written an error 404 in your post. Control Hunter doesn’t exist.
Attached are the result and the screenshot of the packs that I purchased.
I still anyway have 1500 coins which maybe I will exchange for an additional 15 packs.
I am overall very happy, with big odds in my favour. My wallet is even happier.
If Blizz had given me back the € 130 of the pre-order for mercenaries maybe I would have bought something. Maybe, because it looks like this expansion sucks to me.
Another day of one of Shipmen’s posts about claiming a right to have Mercenaries’ pre-order refunded.
Go be sour somewhere else. This thread was obviously created to share in the joy of opening the latest expansion’s packs, and not for your misguided opinion on how consumerism works.

Jesus. This means you can just discover Jace whenever you want to, right? Definitely trying this out in a minimal-minion Fel Relic deck.

The team is aware, and working on a solution.

Combo Priest would like a word. Bless is a card.

Well, we got neither.

I just really hope The Countess isn’t the only “Pure” payoff card, and would like to see at least one of the rares tie into that archetype.

What a GIGACHAD-moment.

Golden packs have their own timers, sadly. So no, opening the Golden packs first doesn’t increase the chances of unpacking a Golden Legendary.

This will suffer from the same downside Plague of Death did. Sure, it’s a cool AoE, but it develops nothing.
