I Mean tittle is self explanatory. Ben had personality, had the laugh, had somewhat good direction with hearthstone until charge patrions and pirate warrior but otherwise. Really miss that guy in the hearthstone apartment. i mean, he left the place for a good reason, just felt...tooo soon, he left tooo soon executus
oh, we dont have powercreep right now? are you saying that there hasnt been billion changes? do i need to remind you about demon hunters first debut.
Read my message. Powercreeping STARTED WITH Ben brode. And even after a billion changes they still have it and still runs rampart - so this is a moot point. Thanks Ben for providing a lazy design choice that only scales to the worst, invalidates older cards, makes past expansions useless and, implicitly, makes all the money players spent on them a terrible choice/losing investment.

Again, good riddance.

Powercreep would start with any director/designer/producer. It's almost as the natural flow of a collectible game like this. The thing is that it can happen more quickly or abruptely without the proper attention.
About Brode, tho, he was a more "conservative" game designer - he would rather nerf the card to death as it's 'safer' in the context of balance - and took the time he think was needed to make changes or updates. It's not good or bad, it's just a way of doing things. Personally, by the time he quit, Hearthstone was a little "stale" to me. I think the game got some needed refresh. As for today (as I have no idea who the director is right now) they are right the opposite of conservatives, to the point of creating whole 2 different games inside Hearthstone. I don't see this happening with Brode. Anyways, I was also wanting to share some opinions about this, thanks for the topic, cheers.

My discord profile pic is Ben Brode laughing, I haven't changed it since I made the account
Edit: Specifically
Do you miss having to wait two months for abalance patch?
HAHAHA
I don't. He started the powercreeping design bullshit. Good riddance. Personality counts for shit when the good of the game is at stake.
Hearthstone back then > Hearthstone now

Better than the two years of horrid card design and insane power creep that we've gone through.

Sorry, but Brode was all style, very little substance while leading Team 5. Hype was pretty much all he brought to the table.
Some of my least favorite parts of Hearthstone were created under his watch, and we are still dealing with the aftermath.
Let's not forget that he got hired at Blizzard because he got chummy with the staff while delivering pizzas to them.

Brode and Dodds created the game in the first place, he brought a bit more to the table than hype.
Me too...
