If I have to be honest, Madness at the Darkmoon Faire made me left the game and started to play Gwent (awesome game for anyone who didn't tried it)... I found that expansion so lame and boring, and when I saw the reveals for the Barrens... Honestly, I thought my hype level was underground and thought the game would still be boring. But to my surprise, it didn't. I find this expansion pretty fun and there are some awesome archetypes. Sure, some things need balance (like Deck of Lunacy or Paladin), but crazy shenanigans are actually possible.
Currently, my fav decks are Miracle Rogue and Miracle Druid (loving the miracles lol). And No Minion Mage, but it's broken lol.
What do you guys think? You felt the same with this expansion?
Looking forward to read all of you.
(I'm still playing Gwent though, I really suggest you guys to keep and open mind and try it)
Most Fun Expansion in terms of going Ham on Golden Legendarys Crafting for sure, crafted like 12 Goldies, down to 20k Dust from 50k. Yea HS becomes more manageable as a Standart Onleh player than ever before, easily possible to get all Legendaries of every Expansion, and even many Golden ones. Also Tavern Pass seems like a decent deal, if you dont want to purchase the Expansion Bundles and rather farm Gold instead, which is now a Strategy I'am considering. 20 bucks does somewhat less "Damage" to the wallet afterall.
Overall Blizzard made some huge positive Changes with their Reward Track, which is the most important thing to me.
Hs from 2014, this is one of worst expansions ever. Facing 7 mages 2 paladins and 1 warlock in 10 games is no fun. The only worse metas were 1. quest rogue - it was pure cancer 2. shudderwock shaman - it was pure cancer. Now you have at least 2 decks to play with and 1 tier 2 deck if you are bored with mirrors consisted of who will get better random cards.

I'm a wild player and this is the most refreshing meta we've had in a couple expansions, so I totally agree. The cards don't just feel different, but they're also decently ballanced, powerful on their own manners.

I love you Dreadsteed, I will never disenchant you!
I believe that last expansion was probably best. Every class had strong deck, tier 1 and tier 2 had like 15 different decks. You could play bomb warrior, highlander mage, ress priest, galakrond warlock, pure pala, miracle rogue, otk demon hunter, totem shaman, big druid, highlander hunter and have a chance against all other decks. Every deck had second variant with same strenght - demon warlock, big warrior, big priest, aggro hunter and rogue, pen flinger paladin etc etc
Now you have literally 2 competetive classes with 3 competetive decks....

Dude you sound like you're new. It always happens that some things are unbalanced when an expansion goes live... And given the HUGE amount of streamers, this things are found a few days after the release. People tend to use the decks that streamers do instead of homebrewing, kinda annoying but that's a fact in every TCG.

The problem with last expansion for me was the lack of new archetypes. I played A LOT during previous expansions, and in MDF I didn't saw any NEW archetype with a few exceptions.

100% agree, the meta right now is so shitty. Only 1 week has passed and I am already bored. In Darkmoon I have played for 2 months before switching to BG.
Right now the only deck I enjoy is Agro hunter, as it demolishes mages and rogues. I refuse to play random casino mage and I refuse to have Pen flingers in my decks.
I hope devs see the stats and Come up with quick nerfs. Pen flinger to 2 mana (I want it to be unplayable), Deck of Lunacy to 4 mana, Refreshing Spring water to 5 mana , Jandice barov to summon two 4-drops instead of 5 drops. The pool on 5 mana is just insane

Dude, it's random mage, c'mon, how can a card that transform stuff in random is so powerful like all lows are saying? it's RANDOM! wTf xD Now, pally is somewhat hard but not that hard, this week i reached legend in both Standard and Wild with rogue. Rogue in wild is a beast right now, sad, after nitro nerf no more odd rogue, but still good tempo rogues are working in wild with new stab spell and some new stuff too. In standard I'm pretty much around 90% winrate with Watchpost Rogue...Really great deck, all costs reduced and much cards on hand, more than mage and warlock nowadays, which is a surprise for rogue after old miracle and galakrond archetypes. So, yes, this meta is better than the other metas before and way more simple and requires to be smart, if u aren't , well, u going to suffer like many non'smart players from 2014 to 2019 before new changes turn the game into play itself two years ago. Watchpost rogue crush warrior, mage and pally easy. GL
For me it's one of the most frustrating expansions ever, because I think there's tonnes of interesting cards that pull you towards building a bunch of interesting decks - I don't think I've spent this long testing everything out since trying to play every Quest in Un'goro - but it's resulted in one of the least enjoyable metas of all time (I've been around since closed beta). It's not the worst meta in terms of balance (though it's pretty bad), it's the fact that a lot of the more powerful decks are no fun to play against. I'm not even convinced a Mage nerf would do that much, since Paladin and Rogue are also very clearly overtuned and irritating to play against to boot. Those balance changes really can't come fast enough, and I'm hoping they really hammer Spell Mage into dust - that deck is the antithesis of what I personally enjoy about Hearthstone, highly calculated minion-oriented matches.
I always enjoy new expansions. Gives me an opportunity to play with new deck ideas before the meta settles and becomes stagnant. That being said, this particular expansion, for standard anyway, has quickly become dominated by mage and paladin. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as it gives rise to a few opportunities.
1: It gives me a chance to create a 'meta‐breaker' deck. Since 90% of the games are vs these 2 classes, if you can find a deck that is favored vs both, you win most your games. (I've been moderately successful so far with my priest deck. The games are just lengthy).
2: It showcases the most broken aspects of the game, which recent history has demonstrated will lead to nerfs on the game's most frustrating aspects.
I generally don't care to play against the same classes repeatedly but the games are fun and I've been climbing the ladder, while also reasonably confident there's a nerf or two on the way. I'd have to say I'm enjoying this expansion considerably so far and looking forward to what changes when (if) things get nerfed.
This expansion might be fun if they nerf mage and all paladin decks to the ground. Priest is unplayable, rogue has only 4 mana cards or lower, dont know if shaman is still in the game or not. Only classes I am happy with are Druid (hope alignment will work) and hunter. These 2 classes feel fresh, the rest is terrible.
Generally I really liked (2 out of 3) expansions in 2019
dragons package+galakronds was awesome idea, it felt fresh.
Quests were cool, interesting + highlander package.
Rise of shadows - nah, bomb warrior and some good, some bad cards, nothing interesting.
2020 was really terrible:
Ashes - just half of expansion ruined by DH being too OP and having 250 insane decks, complemented by toxic face hunter. Game was close to unplayable
Scholomancer - I dont even know, which cards are from it, except insane Paladin. Extremely boring expansion
Darkmoon - boring - old gods close to useless (except tickatus) and with miniset aggro rogue. Terrible meta.
Barrens - mage and paladin... What else is here to be said. Not playing until they nerf it and I think Paladin would be amazing even with 5 nerfs.
I hope they come with some interesting new quests or hero cards and fix the game, because right now it feels like punishment to play HS.

I think the biggest advantages of this expansion is.... the rotation.
