Watch some of yall, still going to be complaining. The new system might not be perfect, but this is a big step in the right direction.
People are complaining ON the post announcing this. And the conspiracy theories continue. "They delayed this so the fandom would be grateful etc. etc." Some people just wanna whine.
Having said that; I think there are still legitimate issues. Like why are the Battleground perks and Arena Pass separate purchases for $20 each? Put them together, they'd be pretty reasonable value, and I'd consider purchasing them.
Getting 50g and a pack is a weird reward? If they wanna change it up, why not just make it 2 packs? Why are they being so stingy with the track rewards later on in the track. Like they should WANT people to play the game, and bad rewards at higher levels are actively discouraging.
Game still remains too expensive and it doesent have instant gratification of old gold ques
Sorry, I don't have time to finagle with the forum's weird UI to edit my post.
I wish people would stop saying this. Getting 50-60g and not being able to afford another pack is literally no different from getting 750XP from a quest and not leveling up. The game is too expensive, but losing that euphoric feeling of seeing numbers go up is literally no different whether it's levels or gold.
Any positive change is great. I still prefer the old system but that’s just my preference. I liked the simplicity.
I fall in the middle of this never ending debate. I used to make purchases but stopped buying in 2017 (with the exception of the welcome bundle). I spent quite a bit of money on the game between 2015 and 2017. Mostly preorders, but I also treated myself to a stack of 60 packs every three or four months. To give an idea what type of customer I am.
Anyway, Blizzard is a business and you shouldn’t attack them for employing strategies that are proven to be effective. As a customer you have the choice to buy or decline. That being said, the new system is very obviously designed to take advantage of players who are more easily tempted. Not cool.
These are positive changes but honestly, it's the bare minimum they were always going to do and it's still incredibly tone deaf. An example being the change of "win 7 ranked games" to "win 5 ranked games". Nobody cared about the number, it was the fact that it was a quest which could not be re-rolled and a lot of people didn't want to participate in because ladder is the antithesis of fun at the moment.
If you want to sell people on this system and the game around it then let them play how they want; it honestly couldn't be any simpler. Just reward people for the game modes they WANT to play, not ones they're forced to because of a bottleneck quest and I can guarantee the public would be much more receptive than they are to this gold increase.
Keep on focusing on the cosmetics and gold whilst missing the key issue with the game....
what the game needs is a truly random matchmaking based on rank. people worry about gold and a couple of skins (and are so happy as the OP now that he will get more, calling it good news lol)ignoring that win rates are controlled by blizzards algorithm.
get your free five decks and then embark on a 10 loss streak with your flashy new warrior skin

I absolutely agree with you, this is the most important issue. A "hidden hand" that pulls strings in the background and controls pretty much everything after you hit a play button. They can and will make changes to anything that relates to progression, rewards, prices etc., but game will be long dead before they'll touch this. If it's going to make it any better, Hearthstone isn't the only one, far from it. Every single online game that's out there to make money has it, so if you want to continue to play online games like Hearthstone, I'm afraid it's one pill you're gonna have to swallow.
Blizzard gives an inch and everyone acts like everything's fixed. Am I the only one who remembers that they are adding three 35 card mini-sets per year? That's 105 cards in total, almost an entire added expansion of cards. While that's great in terms of content, it is a drastic increase in the cost of the game without any indication that their will be rewards to ease that cost. A 20% increase to the experience track doesn't fix this, it only slightly fixes a crappy system to bring it in line with what we had before without even accounting for the mini-sets. If calling Blizzard out on their BS is considered "bitching" by some, I will gladly continue bitching until Blizzard stops being so damn greedy.
I asked this in another thread and no one answered. I guess I'll try it here. What behavior do you expect from a corporation that you aren't getting from Blizzard or Activision? Seriously, I'm genuinely curious. What do folks expect to see that they aren't seeing? Preferably something specific, as opposed to "don't be greedy".
Also, is there any reason to believe the mini-set will be a fixture for all sets to come? I missed that announcement if there was one.
The problem is if they bleed people too much it will just cause more people to fall off, slowly eroding their player base. Activision isn't very long sighted when it comes to quality games, they don't know how to handle an asset like blizzard. They're incompetent.
Damage is done, I am still logging in every once in a while to complete quests, but this whole debacle led me to finding runeterra, a much better game. If runeterra continues to impress, that will be the end of hearthstone for me.
You don’t need to have full fucking collection to play the dam game stop bringing that up . There are plenty of decks that don’t use the full collection of cards. Wait and see what is good and craft according to what f want to play. This excuse is as old as fuck stop bringing it up.
