Was doing the new quests today of playing a class for 3 games. First game was a mirror which I never like playing so I instant concede. Second went the distance for a loss, and the third opponent got their combo early so I concede to save time. The quest indicator says I still only played one game. 1/3 games played?
So if they made these new quests easier to complete, why do I have to sit through a match I know I’m going to lose? How many turns equals a “game” in Blizzard’s eye? I’d much rather go back to quests requiring me to win matches than to waste my time.
I’m a super casual player with limited gaming time. I have no problem giving my opponent a win if I know it’s a lost cause. I understand the requirement of a human opponents for quests. I just don’t understand forcing a player to complete a whole game losing effort for a better amount of gold. A game is a game, no?
Either way, does someone know exactly how many turns it takes to trigger what Blizzard considers a “game”?

Well, yeah. Taking my lumps would be the easy answer. But in reality, no player wants to do that too often. It’s demoralizing. Even when you are super casual like I am.
“Oh look, the Shaman got off a turn 3 Desert Hare/Mogu/Evolve combo. And I have zero response. Might as well just let him bash me for a few turns. I’d hate to ruin THIER gaming experience.”

If I recall correctly, a game wont count as being played (like when doign the friend quest) unless one player has taken at least 15 damage (or something to that effect).
I'm surprized how none i've known, uses my tactic. Just pass the turns dude. Pass the turns until both players are at 10 mana, then concede. Keep cards in your hand because when you mill a card your turn comes faster.
conceding on turn 4 with 9 health left does not count as "play a game", but not playing a card at all and losing on turn 5 (lethal) does count as "play a game".
All in all i like that questing has become more friendly to beginners.
I don't know if the new system is a bug or silent update in the latest broken patch. But conceding at 15 or below health, does not work anymore. It has worked like that since 2014, so please Blizzard, at least tell us what the new rules are so people can stop wasting their time clearing quests.
They just made the quests easier than ever to complete -- there is pretty much no way to make them easier unless Blizzard employees drive to your house and play the game for you.
YET PEOPLE STILL FIND SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT.
If you don't have time to play the game, don't play the game. You clearly have a lot going in your life and shouldn't be wasting time on video games.

There’s always some team 5 white knight smart ass dropping their two cents. As you can see, it turns out to be a legitimate question. The 15 Health old way no longer seems to apply. And it appears to be bugged still.
If they had made it as easy as you said, a player could just log three concessions and collect their quest like they do when they ask you to play brawls and adventures. That’s easy. Sitting and waiting until zero health is a waste of time in a game that’s been decided a few turns before hand. Not to mention the potential for BM abuse if the opponent knows you have to wait until zero health, because you know, the game is full of immature assholes that just love roping every single turn just because they can.
Moot point anyways since after I made this thread I just completed the quests by winning the next two games.

I think the best way to determine how exactly those new quests work is to post the circumstances under which Quest-Completion was awarded, like those Examples:

What a douchey answer from someone who clearly jumped to conclusions before reading anything... If you paid attention to the chatter, you would see that people were simply curious about what "playing a game" constitutes. They then tried some samples of what they believed the old standard used to be, and realized the same rules don't apply. There was then a bit of frusteration because a finite rule couldn’t be found. No one was "complaining" that they couldn't complete the quest, or that it was too hard.
If you don't have time to read a thread, don't comment on the thread. You clearly have a lot going in your life and shouldn't be wasting time on forums.

A .gif is worth a thousand words.
just dont concede early on and play it out
try using a fast deck or something instead

I think I found the answer. Not sure if it’s true, but a person has to be at 15 life or less. Gonna test it out now.
It’s still dumb if you ask me.

Its the same as with completing quests against friends
Be below 15 hp
On ladder I have had people insta concede vs me and gotten credit towards A quest

At least thats what it used to be.

I am power, incarnate!
i experimented a little bit too, results:
conceding on turn 4 with 9 health left does not count as "play a game", but not playing a card at all and losing on turn 5 (lethal) does count as "play a game".

not turns, health when any player is at 15 health or lower you can concede and it will count for the quest
edit: apaprently the health thing is not working

I played a couple more games and had some of them count towards the quest when i had 15 hp or less in some later turns and conceded.
i think the rules are:
Have 15 HP or less AND be on turn 5 or later.
Seems reasonable
The new quests "play 3 games" require to die/win without concede. Concede with 15 health like in the past didn't work.
It is 14 and less. Not sure about the turns.
EU 11/2015+ , f2p 03/2021+: DK 63 / DH 205 /Dr 277 / Hu 733 / Ma 6666 / Pa 1072 / Pr 1165 / Ro 1791 / Sh 1303 / Wl 707 / Wr 664
I think the best way to determine how exactly those new quests work is to post the circumstances under which Quest-Completion was awarded, like those Examples:
Turn 10, 3 Health, does count
Turn 1, 30 Health, does not count
(Thinking about this, what about Armor? Does High Priest Thekal work?)
We can then derive the Rule from this data.
I dont have Quests currently but will make a post when i get them.
The best way to win is to not take any turns at all.
