Hi guys! I'm a newbie Heartstone player and big eSports fan, and I'm currently writing my master's thesis on eSports spectating motives at the University of Leeds (UK). I'm really struggling finding respondents though, as eSports do not seem to be a big thing here in the UK (sadly).
It would be unbelievably helpful if you could take 2 minutes of your time to fill out my anonymous survey below; I got 2 weeks left until submission, wish me luck! And thanks in advance!!
If you don't get a lot of responses from this, might want to repost with something like "need your help!" in the title.
I almost didn't click on this.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
yikes.. this comment was reported and will be down soon.
I put it in part of the survey but I figured I'd say here, I literally only watch Hearthstone (and pretty rarely), Super Smash Bros Melee, and Halo (extremely rarely). I watch the bigger Smash tournaments, used to play competitively. I used to watch to get better, understand the game and players, new tech, strategies, motives etc. but now I watch because it is a spectacle. I watch "daily smash highlights" on Youtube just about every day. Used to play Halo competitively and had the same relationship to it.
Hearthstone is an ok game to spectate, it's more like poker that it is like an actual sport to me. Smash Melee is more dynamic like a real sport since it happens in real time. I think it's more equivalent to Tennis or Basketball, which I think is more fun to watch.
Done! Good luck with the thesis! Chilling with GM after hitting legend for the first time ever today :D Would be interesting to get a peak at your main results after you're done (if you're allowed/keen to post it) ^^
Done. The most difficult and main part of each writing work is to form a thesis statement. The assignments of different topics are not so easy to create it perfectly at the beginning of writing. But to solve this problem and to help people all around the world who have been puzzled for hours over this issue, informative speech thesis statement generator was developed, you can find here https://au.edubirdie.com/law-papers. There is nothing sophisticated, just start your research by stating your topic and then write down the main idea of the text, your position. After that you have to fill in a few more gaps. There are some kinds of essay papers that have ideas and purposes. Therefore, it is logical that for each particular type of essay you should use your own corresponding thesis creator.
Answered. By motives do you mean what makes people interested in watching it? Isn't it the same as with normal sports? Actually never mind, I can see how watching e-sports can be a side-thing for most, while soccer for instance has more people that are heavily invested in their team.
Losing to Sire Denathrius makes me not want to play this game anymore. The Sire Denathrius nerf makes me want to play this game again. Losing to Deathrattle Rogue makes me not want to play this game anymore. The Prince Renathal nerf makes me not want to play this game anymore.
