I'm a masochist. I keep trying to play Blood DK but I'm practically giving people free wins.
The reason why Blood DK games last so long (if we fight slower decks) is because we lack FINISHERS to make games end faster. Trust me, I want the game to end as much as you do but I can only kill you through Alexandros Mograine which is just extremely slow chip damage. Blood DKs also rely on Astalor Bloodsworn as a finisher but other classes can use him more efficiently like Druid who can also make multiple copies of it. The same can be said for Sire Denathrius. The other way that I can think of is to use Patchwerk to snipe your win condition to make you feel compelled to concede.
See how limited our options are? We either have to slowly chip you down, use the same neutral win condition legendary as everyone else, or make you concede via disruption.
It's even worse when we fight people that can mana cheat their way to victory. Notice how they had to buff Obliterate since some decks (Miracle Rogue or Evolve Shaman) could summon a giant minion early and taking 12 damage to the face to remove a minion was not worth it at all? I just fought a Mage who literally kept replaying Rune of the Archmage for cheap.
Are players used to this level of relatively cheap and consistent "random effects" practically winning games?
Anyway rant over, I've been on a bad losing streak as Blood DK. It's basically either they kill me in under five turns or they actually have a win condition ready to kill me when we both last longer than 10 turns.
Prince Renathal seems like what you want - now to be honest I'm not sure how viable it is in Standard, but if you face a lot of slow decks, which it seems like you are, it got to be. Allows you to add Lor'themar Theron as a wincon, and be pretty safe in that department. Also, make sure you keep Brann Bronzebeard (unless you're using Brann with Lor'themar Theron) until you can use it with Astalor Bloodsworn (the first copy), when playing against slow decks. That way, for 10 mana, you can end up generating 3 final copies of it.
Diamond through Legend accounts for roughly 50% of games played by Hearthstone Deck Tracker users. Legend only accounts for 15% of games played by Hearthstone Deck Tracker users. Anyways, if you limit it to Legend only, the results are similar.
but these decks combined don't even make up the popularity of the 5% of decks that are picked in the legend
The popularity wasn't what what he was arguing. He was arguing that they weren't 'competitive'.
How was the game not rolled out with this when they introduced Death Knight!? Five minutes of playtesting with Rogue or Priest and you'd find out "Hey, I had minions die but this card isn't doing anything"
That wouldn't solve all of the issues with the card. What you propose would make it harder to stop the Malignant Horror cycle, since currently if you get to kill it and put it into a reborn state, all copies summoned are easy to deal with 2-1's. With your change, that'd no longer be the case.
I agree, the entire game should just be free. Everyone should get all the cards, and It'd be nice if Blizzard would pay us a small monthly fee to play their game as well.

I agree, while we're at the topic, I think the design and balance team should get a buff, cause they're complete garbage right now.

The problem isn't Neptulon the Tidehunter, the problem is the cards that cheat it out. The card is pretty meh when actually played for 10 mana.

Just reward a 100 gold instead. What's the point of introducing yet another currency?

They've already said the want to change it so all classes have a hidden corpse counter in the future.

I laughed when I saw they just made a Standard golden set available in the shop.

This feels like a bad 'PR' move on their part. Why not release this update AFTER the balance changes to standard come out?
