This might be a recurring theme, but I just feel it is just too important. It needs to become more independent with its own quests, rewards and game modes. Particularly now as the rotation comes up I am concerned to see people asking themselves if they should dust their card rotating into wild instead of endorsing wild. This tells me that wild needs attention.
Wild needs its own quest and reward system:
Why: Current from the rewards (Gold, dust, golden cards, …) only dust can be used to get wild card and most players don’t have the luxury to use up their dust for wild cards.
So essentially, they are stuck with the wild cards of their card pool, which has rotated from standard.
Also, if only crafting is the only way to get wild cards, then this is just manifesting the established meta and not sparking any creativity.
For players to enjoy wild and gradually grow their card pool, there needs to be “wild” rewards to get wild cards or packs, or buy them with a dedicated currency.
The nice side effect will be, that new players will take a new look at the wild cards and I believe new arch-types will emerge.
I understand, that in the past, the pure wild card pool was not big enough. But with the upcoming rotation, there will be more exclusive wild cards than standard cards. Giving player a way to obtain exclusive wild cards is just required.
The nice side effect will be, that new players will take a new look at the wild cards and I believe new arch-types will emerge.
What about a wild card back season reward! Just create a rugged, worn-out version of the standard card back.
Wild needs at least one more play modes (maybe replacing casual), which will add a new meta:
There should be a play mode, where on a regular interval (every 1-2 months) a new card pool is put together by just allowing cards from a subset of available expansions in wild (maybe even omitting the classic cards).
Actually maybe even revert the nerfs, so that they have their old stats.
This would spark creativity and new arch-types and encourage people to even keep cards (and not dust them) just for the eventuality that they become important in this new meta.
Wild needs its own user experience:
How many times has it happened to me, that I played a standard deck and in the game noticed, that I did not switch back to standard and was playing in wild. Actually standard decks are not doing so bad in wild (at least at my level).
I believe there needs to be a more pronounced switch between standard and wild. There needs to be an own “wild” main menu
Wild collection manager:
I believe people want to keep wild-decks for much longer than in standard, because they stay much longer relevant.
The number of wild cards is much higher as in standard and I believe Blizzard sooner or later needs to optimize the UI for the huge card pool.
Allows to have a dedicated selection of the wild game modes.
I would also like modified gameboard. Why not make the standard gameboards wilder for wild.
To summarize, by making Wild more independent and giving it its own feeling Hearthstone as a whole will become more attractive, motivate past players to come back and offer the variability to currently players to not get bored.
I like the concept, and don't think it would be that difficult to implement if Blizzard put their mind to it. But my only concern is making modes and quests exclusive to Wild could create a divide in the player base like PvP and PvE in WoW. There are a subset of players who are PvE elitists and another who are PvP elitists, and they generally have a toxic relationship with each other.
Perhaps a better solution would be to allow players to purchase Wild packs in the in-game store through standard Hearthstone gold. Personally speaking, I don't play Wild because I only began playing in Feb 2018 and I am missing a lot of the cool/meta-defining cards like Raza and Reno. Heck, even my Year of the Mammoth collection is poor compared to my Raven collection. Maybe bump the price down a bit given the fact that Standard rotation is the official Blizzard tournament card pool. This would definitely cause a jump in Wild players.
Man this was beautifully written and formated but i am too lazy to read it. That's because it's certain that won't do anything. I mean the playerbase has requested extra achievements, tournament mode and quality of life improvements loudly for ages now and they have done nothing. Heck, some of these requests can be easily implented too. So them doing something for the small part of the playerbase that plays wild seems like wishfull thinking.
If you play Wild why wouldn't you craft cards you want to use?
Typically most players need all their dust to craft cards to keep competative in standard. Since the meta is changing every 4 months with a new expansion there is a constant demand for dust. Therefore there is not much dust to spare for wild.
But there is something else, the beauty of getting random reward cards (and not crafting them), is that you take a fresh look at the cards and try to use them. This shakes up things and there will be players coming up with totally new decks. However, if you can only craft new cards you will be conservatve and just obtain the obvious tier1 cards.
Optimistically, Blizzard can listen to the community and implement changes which satisfy their customers. But realistically, they do not see a viable cost-to-benefit ratio in sinking resources and time into improving a side-format. If it isn't projected to generate a substantial profit, then Blizzard won't bother. Strong competition from other card games would change their minds, but most players, including myself, are cynics and do not see other games competing against Hearthstone on the same level.
With the quests, legendary weapons and death knights rotating out and the overall huge size of the upcoming wild card pool compared to standard, I have a strong feeling that a lot of people that were previously not interested in Wild will spend a lot of time in this format (or are you really going to give up your quest warrior, cubelock and control hunter forever?), and my hope is that this forces Blizzard to address some of the bigger issues. Nerf, dust, reward, you name it

First of all, I want to say, I like your ideas of getting "wild only quests" and "wild rewards/currency". Since each year more and more cards are being pushed into Wild, it will become more and more fun to watch and diverse format, than standard. So, as you already pointed out, Blizz should give him sooner or later some love.
Second, I would like to discuss this "beauty" you are talking about, or actually the exact opposite. The ugliness of people, refusing to use their decaying brain cells and try to utilize the random cards they are given, but instead - dusting blindly everything they've got, just to copy-pasta, to the best of their (dis)ability, the netdeck they can think of, while shamelessly asking for replacements on sites like this one.
Props for the formatting of your text as well.

Help! I don't play wild, I started with karazhan adventure and I miss too many powerful cards to play wild, and I don't see the point to invest really a lot of money on it. So why should I keep cards that go in wild when I can dust for cards in standard? Are there any reason that will make me regret to dust all the cards?
quoted from the thread "Will you play more Wild after the rotation?". If the poll can be trusted ~18% will disenchant all their rotating cards, because of reasons like the one quoted!
As Blizzard I would be scared about this, and understand that counter actions are required:
By disenchanting all the cards rotating into wild those players rip-out their "roots". This means, once they get fed up with standard, they will leave and never come back. Since it is very very painfull to enter "wild", since they will be confronted with their mistake of having dusted rotating cards in the first place.
Everybody knows, at some point standard will get lame and if then there is no alterantive meta to switch to the players will leave and never come back.
Actually I am very upset about Bizzard to force (or at least let people think that they have no other choice) people do do such a frustating and longterm damaging action of dusting old cards. This is business damaging. Actually I like MTGA in this matter, as there is not even the option of dusting, and I can bet that this will ensure that players will stay around longer and also allow players to come back.

The whole game needs more love. Not just Wild mode.
It needs more love indeed, but just by doing one thing: ERASE BARNES!
Turn 3 + coin into Barnes into Yshaarj into Statue: concede. Most frustrating experience ever.

Very good ideas all around but as others said it's a dream that will never come true
They're getting Genn Greymane and Baku the Mooneater just for the format, what else do they need?

That'll do, Huffer. That'll do.

5% - 10% of Standard.
If looked at the count of legend players it was like 20000 in Standard and 1000 - 1500 in Wild.
