After watching him this tournament, I'd say let him play if he really wants to. He's just making a fool of himself constantly. His horrible macro-line decisions denote his lack of matchup knowledge; the amount of technical misplays were not lacking and he almost missed lethal once because it took the entire rope for him to calculate a (guaranteed) cloning gallery lethal
This isn't even new; he's been consistently bad in previous tournaments. You could tell he must have done something sketchy to get there by just looking at how big the skill gap is between him and some of the other guys there
Salty over a cheater being allowed to -still- play at the highest level of Hearthstone?
I feel like the majority of people on these boards don't even know what salt is and just refer to that thread if someone posts something they don't like.

Hey psst. Newsflash: he literally won the tournament

Yeah, I'm aware. I did start the post with "After watching him this tournament", didn't I? :P
It doesn't really mean anything. People who don't follow tournaments still aren't going to know him for winning one of 20+ annual HCT events and people who paid attention would know he didn't deserve it. It's only kind of awkward that he won the prize money instead of someone more deserving
Winning a tournament for a game like HS doesn't equate to being a good player; it's often just average play and luck because of how impactful in-game RNG, lineup/bracket RNG and queue up orders are in Hearhtstone. Just ask literally any card game pro or statistician. Doing well (eg top 8 or 16) with consistency over many tournaments is the mark of a good player
Thanks. Fully agree with the frustration of justsayan.

Cheating in a tournament should be an automatic lifetime ban from HS esport events. It's not like Hearthstone is devoid of players in Taiwan to fill the role Roger took.
It's bad enough that Taiwan voted for him, but he's a good player (good enough to win). The real problem lies in HSesports allowing the vote to stand when they have full power and every right to deny Roger a spot in the tourney.
This is a player who was confirmed in both win-trading and stream sniping. I can't understand the justification for Roger making it to this tournament.

Jesus Christ... Stop taking this shit seriously, people. Yeah, he cheated in the past, so what? No one is perfect.
“He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” ;)
What's the point of having a professional competition if no one is going to take it seriously? I don't even watch the tournaments but I can see the point of banning cheaters from it since it will damage the reputation of the tournament in the long run.

Do you seriously believe Hearthstone tournaments are a professional competition??? That's funny bro, really funny.

This is the exact mindset that HS esports is working to convert, and they can't do that if they let known cheaters enter subsequent tournaments after cheating in a previous tournament.
If they want to be taken seriously, they should take themselves seriously and start treating their events accordingly. Just like cheating in baseball by juicing doesn't hurt anyone, neither does stream sniping and win-trading. It's not about whether or not someone gets a boo boo, it's about putting on events where participants can expect a level playing field based on the rules and skill (and good RNG... this is Hearthstone, after all).

Yeah, but giving a second chance to someone is a nice gesture from Blizzard, I really congratulate them. I would even say that is mercy. XD

I would absolutely assume it is to those who follow them. Letting a known cheater into the tournament might change their view of it though.

In fairness, if I was earning £50k-£100k per tournament and even just doing one tournament a year, I'd call that a profession. Hell it's more than some people earn in a year, so it certainly counts as a "professional occupation", same as any other sport.

Well, for me, this says a lot about some important people working at Blizzard, and that is more valuable than the tournament scene. They showed true mercy in a world filled by assholes and in my opinion that's something deserving of a medal. ;)

Well, he won the final battle vs Bunny without cheating 3-0.
He played good, so it's a deserved win

And who is Justsaiyan to judge other players? Is he perfect or something? Has he never done anything wrong in his entire life? LOL.
I see nothing wrong in giving someone a second chance, Roger did't kill anyone for f...k sake...
