Not F2P, but definitely not a whale. After the introduction of Whizbang the Wonderful I have fun with him for some time while I sink some gold into arena. not a super good player, but I get more fun out of it compared to just opening packs. This time I went on to wild pretty fast due to the new recipes not being that interesting. waiting to see what the meta will look like when it settles down.
* wonder, yet again, how many months we will have to suffer a shit playing experience till some necessary nerfs (obvious on day 1 of the expansion) are implemented
* curse Ben Brode for his shit legacy - feel good his fucktardness has left Blizzard
* feel smug that I've not spent money on this crap for 3 years
* laugh at the tards who spent money on packs but are whining cause everyone's playing unbalanced cancer
* despise everyone playing unbalanced cancer
* try to find a general purpose anti cancer deck that has at least a chance against most things but isn't a netdeck
* wonder yet again why we can't have autosquelch
* remind myself anyone who touches the emotes in a game is trying to compensate for having an undersized penis (doubly tragic for the "female" gamers)
Probably from now on will be using Whizbang. Have been playing with his decks for over a week, even beating some meta decks.
I'm considering going to Arena for a week or two until ranked meta settles, but I'm not huge into it, even though the previous expansions I always managed to make a profit.
Will probably get more 1k-2k gold so I can open 120 Rastakhan packs at once. Currently with 10 on the bank and 9k gold.
For the folks who are interested - this site has a thread which allows you to "exploit" the Play a Friend quest. I have about three dozen friends, and receive one or two requests each week. The 80 gold adds up quickly - it's a couple dozen free packs for every expansion. In any event, it doesn't hurt to post on the thread. It's currently in its sixth or seventh iteration, and each previous thread has had 50K+ folks trying to share their gold.
Otherwise, doing your dailies is the most pain-free way of earning gold. Even if you aren't an everyday player, it's worth it to simply log in each day and manage your dailies. If you hit the re-roll button, you can often line up your dailies to finish two or three at a time - in principle, you can clear a month of dailies in as few as ten days of actual play.
Simple poll to know what you guys do in the early days following the release of a expansion.

Building decks on what i opened, waiting for the meta to stabilize.

I craft whatever I like, I do not play any meta decks and I do not even know tier list.

Try to build a deck, if not enough cards i try to add new cards to existing decks i own and see what happens
edit: i also build a degenerate anti-aggro deck on expansion release day to rain on the parade of players trying to farm players experimenting
