Or at least give it for free (and undusteable) for new acounts. That way new players could at least play with (semi) competitive decks as they build a pool of cards with the wins and also learn the game mechanics better than in the tutorial.
id like it will be given as Marin le Fox two expansions ago, free and undusteable
Also id accept it will be given only free for new acounts ( maybe acounts created after april to incluye newbies of this cycle)
Agree. Made a card for newbies, locked it behind 1600 dust. When newbies get 1600 dust there is going to be too much temptation from other legendaries to actually craft this.
Won’t happen. They made it this ways so people, myself included, will throw 3200 dust at to have a golden deck. They think we will keep getting packs to compensate for that lol. I’ll be opening 180 packs, so I’ll have enough to craft this golden plus most of the meta decks and meme decks.
it would be nice thought I receive this without the ability to disenchant like Marin the Fox. A golden version to those who preorder both or something as a way to stir up sales.
cause those are things that companies does to keep happy their comunities?, dude, i know they want money and all the sh** like that, but Wizbang is a card that could impulse people to spend money and buy packs to make one os those arctypes that this card will allow them to play, so, yes, gift free content also help companies to gain money. Is unlikely this time but if it happens would be a normal desicion.
I dont think they would have revealed him if they were going to be giving him away for free. However, I feel like whizbang should be added to the classic set. I wonder what decks he will make once he rotates out of standard.

the first is true and false at the same time they did that with C'Thun, but also said that C'thun were a free legendary in that moment, about the second, it would be a nice idea to keep players. I don't know what will happen but, maybe blizzard could end doing it. but Who knows.
It would make more sense than the other free cards they gave away. I don't even understand the c'thun logic of, "well some cards depend on you having him so c'thun is free." Right blizzard, well I expect all legendary minions with planned synergies to be free from now on if that is the case.
yeah I say a c'thun or marin like gift would be cool with this card, and I know, now that they always give one legendary from a random class to players, saying that we should get another because we did in the past is a poor argument, but I kinda just want this given out like that because it helps new players feel like they can play the game semi-competitively and it also teaches them more about playing the game as a whole by throwing different decks at them. It was a year before I was any good at the game because I exclusively played one class for long periods of time and only rarely changed which class that was, when I finally did diversify I started to understand a lot more, but also became sad I could not use any of the good cards in those classes. A card that offers new players a way to try many things that are not quite optimal, but somewhat good, and that encourages them in both giving them a fun way to play and something to work toward (having the ability to play the decks they like when they want) is a great way to get and keep players and the loss they have from not having it in packs is minimal. I think that whizbang should not only be given for free, but also always in standard. I think that maybe they worried or the executives worried it would decrease revenue, but I am certain that it would increase sales or have no overall effect. Much of their money is from whales anyway and making whizbang free and forever for all would not affect whales at all, and more conservative spenders of money would be more inclined to play the game, and therefore more likely to be potential revenue sources for blizzard because they play the game that makes the money, and may have some money to spend. People like me who spend no money and have just ground it out will technically also be more common, which might lead to a need for more servers as the total player base increases, which costs money, but I think that if hearthstone is lucrative now doing something that basically just increases new player interest and retention cannot be bad because it would just scale up the current system.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
I dont think this helps new players since half the experience of the game is deck building and they wont even know which deck they are playing right away or know how to play it. I think its more for the casual player who wants to play all the classes without spending money out the ass for all the cards.
Thread begs the question that playing stock decks will be entertaining or somehow aid in onboarding, I contend it does neither. The decks will be disconnected from your account - it's not like you can tweak them or add cool new cards you get. You will basically play whizzo decks until you feel ready for 'the plunge' of using a normal deck (you won't actually be ready) and start the whole vicious cycle over.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
Agree. Made a card for newbies, locked it behind 1600 dust. When newbies get 1600 dust there is going to be too much temptation from other legendaries to actually craft this.
You're acting like 1600 dust is a big deal.. sorry but it isn't much. That's less than any full deck unless you're running a very cheap aggro deck.
Be grateful this card even exists. And if newbies craft another legendary instead, then that means they weren't much interested in whizbang in the first place.
To give this to new accounts seems like a bad idea. As a new player it would be overwhelming trying to learn a new deck almost every game, and most likely lose a lot. Now, if you could cue the one you want, then it would be better.

I disagree 1600 dust is a lot even after I've been playing for a few years. For someone new it's even worse.
I think they should give it away free like they did with Marin just because it's such a worthless card (competitively), I'm going to be annoyed if I open one in a pack.
Why should they gift it to new players? It's not like saving 1600 dust is a hard task and as you said, they could have 18 semi-competitive decks that I'm sure you can climb to rank 10 with (15 for sure and 10 with a struggle being a newer player), not to say that it would be terrible business for blizzard as doing so means new players don't jhave to spend money on decks cause they have 18 decks that, while are not really super competitive, are definitely waaaaay better, that anything they could build with 1600 dust and that anything they could build in like 6 months of "F2P" Hearthstone, they can just spend the dust crafting it and then save gold and dust for a tier 1 deck they like or even save it for next expansion.
I really think blizzard will see considerable amounts of financial drops in the up-coming months with this card, let's be honest this card is made for new players, those of us old players that are lucky enough to open it will probably fool with it around for a couple days and then either save it until we don't plan to open more boomsday packs (To not get it again) or just dust it if you need the dust for something else and say ok, back to my good meta decks. All new-ish players should save all their dust to craft this card and then probably play it for the next 4 months at least to save stuff, being F2P in Hearthstone is getting easier and easier with each expansion and this card is the proof of it.
Agree, and to answer why would/should blizzard do this...because it gives new players an easy entrance into this game that is extremely punishing to new players. These decks are barely ladder viable but they are far and away better than the crap a brand new player can make with basic cards and the hand full of free packs new players get. I don't need it but every new account should have this card
Now i really hope its your first legendary you pull. I wish to see your face when you do. Youll never admit it if you actually do pull it. May the salt ever be in your favor. No free legendaries, earn or pay for it like the rest of us. If you cant afford around 50-80 dollars per exp, this game isnt for you. Go play yugioh duel links or something lmao.
Honestly I would say this wouldn't be the worst of ideas. After all we know that Whizbang the Wonderful is one of those cards which is clearly designed for newer players. However that said rather than giving it free, I think it should be a reward for doing something within the game itself. But letting players have the chance to have this as a free gift could help for a few reasons:
1) Some players may not have access to all the cards that are available, so giving them this would give them a chance to use some of the cards they couldn't normally use until they open it in a pack or create it with dust.
2) It could help players to think of newer (maybe even better) decks to create. If they see a pattern to the design of certain decks, they could use that knowledge to make better decks.
3) It could be useful for completing quests. We know that some decks will require certain cards to make them work. However as mention at point 1, you may not have the cards available to create these different types of decks. With this card you have access to 18 different decks, meaning it could help some players to complete quests, if they can't create decks which don't compete well with others.
4) If the meta becomes too tough for newer players, it could help if Blizzard were to match players who are both using Whizbang the Wonderful at the start of the ladder. If players feel they have a fighting chance to rank up, they may wish to play the game further.

its only 1600 dust, you'd get that from all free packs / gold rather quickly
