I have been around since beta and I think this is one of the worst overall metas I've been in. The incessant aggro is just soul crushing. Maybe there have been worse single offenders, like mysterious challenger paladin or whatever the dumb hunter card was, but fuck. Every deck is racing you for a turn 6 kill, and the constant DH and dragon hunters are even worse. I just gotta delete this game. Like, who the fuck thought it'd be fun to make sure that aggro has 2 for 1 cards non-stop. REALLY stoked that they all discovered the dumb fucking 2/1 "deal 1 damage give divine shield" at the same time as well.
Puzzle Box's wording should be - "If you have no skills, put this in your deck, cast it." Flavor - "It doesn't matter if this works. You still have no skills."
We got randomizing randomizers in the brawl, leave them there.
Yup, I'm out. DH, DH, Hunter, Hunter, Zoo, DH were all my last matches at Gold 2 where it would only let me win one, lose one. I'm playing decks teched specifically against aggro. Keep the players you deserve, Hearthstone, uninstalled.
I fucking lost to Amazing Reno while completing the adventure on secondary server (NA). How is that even possible? Fucking randomly generated +5 mana this turn with the fucking panda that doubles the effect.
All of this after I lost to some rogue with Zephrys brawl, of course Zephrys survives, then next turn he topdecks shadowstep and casts Zephrys again. Next game a demon hunter with battlefiend coin battlefiend into slice to kill my 2/2.
The current meta is really unhealthy... Come to think of it, I have the following analysis, please tell me your thoughts :P~~~
- play 6-turn and 3-6 cards, and then determine who wins is the current HS card game. This is because such deck exists and it wins very well, all other decks must adapt or lose.
- this leaves only 3-4 kinds of viable deck designs. Namely 22+ 1-2 drops / super value+highlander / 30+ healing / 12+ AOE or removals. To a card game with thousands of cards, this can be boring. Some may have noticed that, there is little variation in the recent pro meta deck lists. These obsevations are on the same phenomenon.
- As an example, zoo works well, and 22+ 1 & 2 drops do protect you, ensuring options to play on turn 1 and 2. So 3+ drops are hardly relevent in a 6-turn play. Players only need to learn 1 and 2 drops, making HS un-interesting.
- 6-turn games + few viable designs = player being beaten very hard in spite of all deck design effort. This makes many players think this is not the card game they want, leading to uninstall. This is devastating.
- possible solutions : this is mainly a small-drop over-weight (SDOW) problem. the main solution is to revive relevancy of 3+ mana cards. There can be some ways. But now most classes have find their own SDOW deck design, and this is not going to go away so easily. Nerf / buff is NOT a solution anymore, since you cannot nerf / buff so massive amount of cards. New solutions would involve HS being changed in the very root. e.g. mulligan method , base health + , etc. I dont know but they all seems very risky change.
You think RNG is bad. I've just been outlucked by a libriam pally, played sir finley at start of game - got the 1 mana 2 attack demon hunter hero power. went all game pretty even but im lower on health, just as im one turn away from stabilising and he has no board minions - plays hero power, a 2nd sir finley he got from rod earlier - refreshes hero power onto the druid one giving him exact lethal for 4.
Secret mage is so fucking retarded. How did this deck dodge nerf every fucking time. 5 4/4 deal 6 damage. 2 2/3 deal 3 damage . Mage has so many way to play secrets for free. Explosive rune is so fucking stupid perfectly split damage. You lose a fucking 5 drop or 2 drop and take 4 damage. Everytime I’m about to clear the board , I have to play around this fucking counterspell. If it’s not counter spell I lost so much value. And when I complain people just told me to fucking play around like it’s so goddamn easy. This deck is so fucking retarded just like Team 5 who thought this piece of shit is ok.

Having been around as long I will say the worst part of all this is that I can remember when it was a really good game. Then some bullshit focus group gave them the idea that new players found the game intimidating so they remove all thought and strategy to the point where you no longer actually play the game you just watch it. Perfect cards are spoon fed to you on curve, so-called RNG effects hit perfectly every time, discover cards only offer the best possible choices and top deck winners occur almost every game. ZTG pulled back the curtain and silenced all of those true believers that used to spout nonsense about how impossible it would be to program the game to read the board and pick the best cards. I truly miss the days when you had to think about what to do next. Blizzard is a business and I get that they need to generate revenue. I just wish they hadn't ruined a really good game chasing new dollars.
Every time I'm at one win from a rank I get veeeeeeeeery unlucky or my opponent is veeeeeeery lucky. As Thrall would say: THat's incredible!
PLaying aggro: Starting hand 7-7-5. Yeah, sure it's not like 21 cards of my deck are below 3 mana.
Next game, dead turn 5.
Next game dead by revel that revealed a reveal and lol you fucked.
Hum hum.
Yeah, the 50 percent win rate algorithm gets fucking obvious after a while. I was starting to call wins and losses before each game, regardless of opponent or deck.
If you guys are right and they are manipulating random outcomes in the background to achieve 50% winrate then I don't wish to play any longer.
Imagine a poker game where the deck would manipulate the cards you or the board got based on your winrate to balance out the table for the benefit of the fish.
Is there any hard proof? There are a lot of stats kept, can any say definitively that there is manipulation?
I'm not looking for feelings because those get naturally distorted. When you catch a 1 outer on the river it leaves less of an impact on you than when your opponent does.
I certainly feel my luck changes when I reach rank 1 of a level. But I can't prove its real.
For those who say only solution against Time Warp mage is aggro him... just shut up and stop trying to defend such bullcrap.
I switch between reno shaman and mech hunter. That piece of shit never fails to show up in pretty much 40% my games, and then proceeds to obliterate me without any possibility of retaliation, even resorting to massive ammounts of RNG bullcrap when I manage to make it far.
In fact, when 65% of your games are illidans and jainas, it gets massive boring, to the point I almost (mark here "almost") miss priest.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. People who play tier decks in jank leagues - unless they're being legit and are actually just passing through - are absolute grunts, and should be banned from the game for life.
I'll stress that if they're playing legitimately, zero issue at all. Just my bad luck I ran into them in that case. If they're playing illegitimately though - smurfing, or win farming or whatever - there's a special place in hell for them (though I imagine their psyche must be hell if they feel the need to smurf with a freaking tier deck XD).
Just played a quest mage at silver 8 in wild - hence this rant. But yeah, special place in hell for them. Also curious why they'd be so afraid to talk after the game. I legitimately just want to ask them if they're just passing through or not - but I guess the kind of person that would smurf with such a deck probably doesn't have much of a spine either. XD
Fuck you Bli$$ard I will harp daily if I must until this ends. GO STRAIGHT TO HELL!! We’re only going to trademark rigged systems but not actually implement them! MY FUCKING ASS! It is so absolutely clear that it is anything but that and you fucking lie through your goddamn teeth! That’s why Ben left! Because it coincides exactly when it started happening! It’s not just pay to win to get the cards! It’s pay to get the cards and to have the systems give you better rng! It’s clear as fucking day you fucking cowards! Admit it Bli$$ard because I can tell you your days are fucking numbered because we are sick of this shit!

The same happened to me but with mage:

Fuck the new ranking system!!!!
Had to create a new profile because "something" went wrong with Hearthpwn!! Lost all my shit and they couldn't fix it they say!
Shame on you Heartpwn in these digital days!!
Oh yeah.….and FUCK Brainless Aggro
It’s unhealthy because they think rng and rolling dice is skillful and that makes a good game. Wild has less bs rng now and that’s fucking sad.

Really at a point where I want to start auto conceding vs DH...
