priest and secret mage are the most irritating classes in the game. completly broken game menchaincs
Pretty much.
..
Priest always been the most annoying class to play against, they make me hate playing control decks. Their mechanics are very cool in theory, but f*ck me, i rather concede and lose than win 30 min. irritating match.
Ideal class for someone without b*lls. Play defensive until cards are out but hey you've got 6 more than your opponent whoohoo! And the speed they play with, this whole healing when full on health, those 2 and 3 mana removals coupled with 4 mana 4 dmg aoe and mind control... preservative and passive as hell and so boring to play against... this class' mechanics were made by some unhappy dork who was bullied in school like no one. Furthermore it's the most rng-reliant which makes it even worse for me - spin the wheel and see what did you just thoughtstole and mindvisioned. Bleh :/
Just lost to one at fatigue. Its so infuriating and boring. Oh the priest isnt playing anything but he heals and instantly clears if you overextend. Couldnt clear my yetis, sunwalker or, druid until he stole my cards. ;ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Lol just because priest has come a long way since naxx is no reason for them to be as annoying or op as they are. What other class and cards gives you the utility, control, card draws, ect they have? No other class comes close. Priest is one of my main decks (along with secret mage, hunter rattle, zoo, and shaman) I've made it to rank 5 with only priest and admit they are currently to ridiculous
its not that priest isnt a good class, because it is and probably has the second best class cards overall (hunter first). Priest is BY FAR THE MOST ANNOYING CLASS TO PLAY AGAINST. it is a completely reactive class, the basic idea with priest is use your 80 removal cards until your opponent runs out of threats. it would be nice to see some cards like shadowform eventually become useful. i instantly want to concede when i see im playing priest because the match is 30 minutes long and most importantly is NO FUN WHATSOEVER independant of the class im playing.
Priest is going to be a force to be reckoned with when GvG drops. recombobulating your belchers, shrinking and stealing Yseras and wiping entire stacked boards with lightbomb. If you arent hyper aggro you've lost. Somehow i can't wait, but... im also extremely fearful.
I agree. Priests are the most annoying class. I think some people are confusing this thread with QQ on how strong the class is. That's not how I see it at all. Heck, I'll say I even win most of my games against Priests. They are still just annoying to face. That's all. I mean I don't see the OP crying for nerfs. Are they? Because if they are then it would probably be silly. But if not I don't see what the deal is.
I have to say Priests are far, far, far, far and away my least favorite class. They are followed after a large gap by Druid, but Priest is definitely worse by a mile; the rest of the classes are inches apart. And it doesn't matter whether I'm playing Priest or playing against it; I just despise the class. Part of this is bias. In terms of stats, I win like 25% less of the time against Priest than any other class - so they just beat me more than any other class, so of course I hate them.
There are a lot of aspects to it. I just... cannot seem to properly wrap my brain around the tactics of Priest decks to play quite so well against them, and it does have to do with the impact that *their* hero power has to manage the board properly, when used efficiently. I just... make stupid mistakes more often and forget to take their versatility and healing abilities into account. They have the ability to do things other classes can't in a particularly annoying way, and when I play against Priest it's like I need to re-adjust my brain because a whole different set of rules apply versus playing literally every other class. And I don't think I'm spouting bullshit here, there is basically Priest and every other class - we all know Priest is just different. Two Priests playing one another is unlike any other matchup (mirror match or otherwise) in Hearthstone. It's absurd.
I have to say that I was legitimately... dismayed to see Priest get *so* many interesting and cool cards in GvG, as well as arguably the best (if not the coolest and most intriguing) of all the class legendaries. And Paladin got a bunch of crap again, which sort of hurts because it really feels like Priest gets all the awesome "good magic" mechanics in a certain sense, though now I'm just whining incoherently about flavor.
Really, I should just start playing Priest. I already play fairly slow, even when playing aggro, since I dislike making mistakes. I'd fit right in with Priest. But I just don't think I can do it! I automatically sigh and cringe every time I see Anduin, even if the matchup is in my favor. It's Pavlovian. If I play as Anduin I'll just always be a miserable Hearthstone player.
I don't see why you guys are all so salty about the tools priests have. Every class needs something that is "unfair" to pull ahead of the competition. Frankly, I think warlock and mage are still in the upper echelon of having answers for everything.
They have the ability to do things other classes can't in a particularly annoying way, and when I play against Priest it's like I need to re-adjust my brain because a whole different set of rules apply versus playing literally every other class.
You're absolutely right about that. When I first started playing, getting all classes to 10, Priest was just arcane in comparison to others. The combos and synergies of other classes were intuitive to grasp, not so for Priest. Which is exactly why I decided to main it first. If they're difficult to grasp, it'll make playing the other classes that much easier. If they're unpopular or not many play them, they'll be tougher to play against for the reason you just mentioned.
I HATE playing against a priest deck. The bullshit gimmicky combos. The OP healed up blademasters. The draw from the clerics. Soulpriest CoH clears. Taking 2/3 attack mionions midgame. Thoughtsealing gamebreaking cards for the win. And F&^% mind control on turn 10. And some of those pricks run two -- plus somehow manage to also fit in belchers, loatheb, and Rag.
I know it's only a cardgame, but I feel an intense combination of loathing, pity, and hatred toward any players playing priest decks low on the ladder. Especially the douches playing the 9/14 variant farming wins at rank 20-18 with their asshat/troll decks who feel the need to BM endless "sorry" "thankyou" when controlling minions or playing copied cards back for the win... As soon as I lose control in a Priest match I concede, because I have less respect for my opponent then I have for dog turd.
QQ and RANT off!
Yeah. Priest decks definitely the cancer on the ladder in my opinion.
Oh great I thought I was the only one. Priest is so annoying to play against I even hate HS sometimes, also happens that priests BM the most lol.
I prefer to face hunters than priests on ladder. Good old days when priest was rarely played.
Eh, I don't BM at all. I actually don't really emote, aside from the greeting. I just feel bad knowing some people might take a genuine "Well Played" as sarcastic, so I just don't do it.
Yes Priests have some very good cards, definitely one of the strongest classes in HS, especially after GvG. But their true power doesn't solely come from their cards. A Control Priest also has a very high skill cap, meaning... Anyone can play the class, but if your an exceptional player, you can do so much more. I see this all the time when climbing ladder, I'll meet quite a few Priests between the ranks of 10-5, and they are just awful. Using removal on the wrong minions, or not trading effectively to make use of their hero power. The class in general doesn't play like any other, It's a completely different skill set/game plan.
On a side note:
Priest is probably the only class that could build a very good deck with only their class cards. They pretty much have a card for every single needed role.

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible. - T. E. Lawrence
A Control Priest also has a very high skill cap, meaning...
Stopped reading after that sentence - how skillful to just steal opponents minions, thoughtstealing his legendaries or just use a SW:D to destroy a minion. Oh wait I forgot the skillful auch-CoH combo. Damned how impressive. Go f**k yourself.
And every priest takes ages to make his play - even on turn one - are they all retarded or is it their way to "prove" how skillful priest play is?
Pretty much.

The salt... it's so salty...
That parrot is full of snakes!

Play miracle or handlock, and never lose to priest again. Problem solved
Priests are the only thing that gets me pissed off on this game. Both in casual and arena.

Priest is the biggest shit out there. Its just so annoying. Every game against is just a waste of 30 minutes of my time, no matter if I win or lose.

Something inside of me dies every time I see priest as my opponent
Enjoy the show

Obviously Priest is the most annoying class, it's their theme no?
And even if we ignore all the irritating cards, who wouldn't want to smash Anduin's face in after a "Not quite what was planned" ?
I have no idea who his voice actor is, but he did an amazing job.
Eh, I don't BM at all. I actually don't really emote, aside from the greeting. I just feel bad knowing some people might take a genuine "Well Played" as sarcastic, so I just don't do it.

Maybe you should have read the rest of that paragraph, which explains exactly why playing Priest takes skill.
It's not about having combos or powerful cards. It's about using the right tool at the right time.
