From a marketing perspective, offering the preorder after such a small card reveal could provide them with interesting data. Perhaps they are investigating what percentage of the player base will preorder the expansion basically sight unseen. Then they can compare it to the preorder numbers after the mid month reveal and again with the preorder numbers right before release. Getting a better understanding of how card releases affect preorders would inform their plans for the card release schedule for Expac2 and Expac3.
so if they dont have a preorder then ppl are upset. if they have a preorder, then ppl are complaining about the card reveals. if they show us the cards then the game is already dying. I can't even...
nevermind, you dont have to preorder. noone forces you to do that.
Because what we need to fix this game is stupidly slow and overcosted cards like a 2/2 for 2 legendary with 0 impact on the game.
Meanwhile all the aggro decks kill you turn 4.
Great job balance team.
Why do they not hire someone actually competent like Brian Kibler ?
Ben Brode is a great sellsman but not much more, and the rest of the team is composed of monkeys.
"Hello, we just showed you these 4 unplayable slow cards among the best of this expansion, selected to hype you. And we won't show any more during 2 weeks (why ? because we can) but we hope you will pay us 50 bucks to get more useless slow unplayable cards"
this thread right now: "I'm not preordering, Blizzard has done a terrible job in the past and I'm not going to give them a single dime. Besides, we haven't seen but 5 cards."
this thread after the next big reveal: "WHAT PAST??? TAKE MY MONEY PLZ"

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
Pre ordered straight away. I don't intend to stop playing the game, and that's just how I always have been doing. A polite "fuck off" to all those naysayers who think they know better how each individual should spend their money.
It never cease to amaze me how small-minded some people are. Look mate, it is quite simple. If you don't want to pre-order based on the current number of revealed cards then don't. It is not like Blizzard tries to force the pre-order on you as there is no advertisements for the bundle unless you enter the shop where they earn their money - and hence is a fine place to have a pre-order bundle. Christ...
Hating on preorder is just stupid. Preorder is opened until the expansion arrives, you can just wait until the last day when all cards are revealed if it bothers you so much. Anyway it's your choice. Some people enjoy the game and everybody can decide what they do with their money. Hating because you preorder 'too soon' doesn't make sense. It's just typical f2p envy-rage
Thats like buying a showbag with 5/200 of the lollies revealed, and u don't even know if those lollies with be functional compeditively. What a joke blizz, if you wanna start asking for me to fork over $60 already, atleast show me the goods and not expect me to go hungry for a week out of blind faith. jeez.
Is this thread for real? Bitching about Blizzard offering a deal to people who want to buy the cards? To be honest, it's not exactly unexpected, given how prickly and defensive so many members of the HS community seem to be. To answer the OP - no, you don't need to pre-purchase, and Blizzard doesn't expect you to. It's an option for people who want to pre-purchase. None of this is a matter of life and death - though, regardless of how good the next expansion turns out, fasting for a week likely won't be worth it. Get your Twinkies, kid.
Pre-ordered already. Disposable income and only playing one game is a beautiful thing, my friend...
People like you are destroying this game, thanks a lot! :(
We must give Blizzard a lesson once and for all bro, and you are doing the opposite.
A lesson about what? Obviously it's working just fine. And frankly, I'd almost prefer it if they didn't reveal all the cards before the release. Wouldn't it be sweet to open packs and see cards you didn't know about? (I guess I couldnt just not look at the reveals but ya know, it'd be cool if that was true for everyone)

Frankly, I'm not going to put more money into the game with Jade in the state it's in.
I feel like that would be rewarding bad behavior.
