i am sorry i didn't see any priests or any control decks for that matter because i was too busy getting my face chewed by pirate warrior and jade druid
aren't priests supposed to be the new shaman ?
rise up and save us from this meta
honestly guys are we gonna face pirate warrior and jade druid for the next 6-8 months ?
No we won't. The only reason those two decks are popular right now is because of how easy it is too make them. Pirate Warrior has been the same since TOG and Jade Druid just puts every Jade card introduced. Once new more refined decks are created they will fall out of popularity. Remember when ladder was filled with C'Thun decks when TOG was first released? Where are they now?
Even if Control Priest becomes very strong, lots of people are still going to play agro decks for the quick win rate (while they might still lose to Priest, they probably won't encounter a ton of them).
The question is whether most people would play a 55% win rate deck with each game taking 5 minutes, or a 65-70% win rate deck with each game taking 15-20 minutes....

Quit complaining and just have fun with this game!
a) the preist meta predictions were made before the ultimate control killer that is jade druid came along.
b) it's not even a week since the cards have been released, when old gods came around it was around this time when people said that Hunter and Druid were the classes that got shafted and people thought MIracle Rogue was top tier.
c) Pirate warrior is actually not even that good. It's a face ekc just as any other so it loses once it runs out of steam and you can easily make it run out of steam by just throwing taunts at it.
Shaman and their feral spirits and things from below, Druids and their trees, newly accquired jade behemoths and of course feral rages can give them a hard time as well, mages can freeze you and ppretty much half your damage, etc. etc.
d) jade druid is an impressivev control counter but it fails incredibly hard if it gets abad start (and can't ramp golems fast enough) or if it just gets outvalued in the early game. Druid still has no actual comeback mechanic aside of swipe so anything with boardpresence and/or a reasonable amount of burst can win easily
just wait a few weeks before you start crafting decks until the meta has settled
Most of the buzz surrounded Dragon Priest, which is a mid-range deck. It appears to be reasonably popular on ladder, as it is essentially "pre-built" - much like Pirate Warrior and Jade Druid. Other decks take weeks to develop after a major release. Patience, grasshopper.

THIS. Aggro decks will always be in the preference if they are viable cause of the short game duration, higher win rate doesn't matter for some if you can make up for your losses really fast. I've climbed to legend with Yogg control warrior, that took 5 times more than if I climbed with hunter or midrange shaman, but I enjoyed it, a big part just want to rank up really soon.
I don't know why, is the card back so important or they really have fun playing an auto-pilot deck? I mean, you play a card game to interact with people, super aggro decks kinda lose this sense, there's tons of games for this.
Edit: I'm talking about pirates, Jade Idol for me is straight broken, expect a nerf for it after the meta settles down, but one that doesn't destroy the card.
After all, like everyone said, the meta is too new, these decks are auto constructed just like the c'thun ones in the beginning of the WOG meta.
I dont understand why ppl keep creating this kind of posts. I mean, I understand it's frustrating getting rekt by turn 5, but I'ts less than a week into the new xpac. Not EVEN ONE week. Its going to settle down, relax. Thats why I'm saving my dust. I'll wait till the meta slow down a bit, after a few weeks.

Yea... like TAUNT druid... that was extremely prevalent in the first week of TOG... haven't seen ANY after that week. I don't think the same will happen for pirate as weapon aggro warrior was there before... people didn't play it as much once standard rotated Death's Bite out. I still enjoyed it for warrior quests since dragon warrior decks I created weren't as consistent as the weapon warrior was. ]
Aside from that rant, the first week is typically best for your try any type of deck- but if you're trying to ladder, you wanna play something solid. Dragon priest seems viable but it's fairly expensive and you need to control early with oozes and heals and an occasional taunt if you really wanna tech against pi-warrior,.

hmmm, dont think the rotation will affect pirate warrior at all, it just loses sir finly thats it, and not even all versions run it anyway
same can be said for jade druid, loses emperor which again isn't run in all versions to begin with
so yes we will have to endure this for 8 more months untill blizzard get off their asses and do something, or they just make them stronger like they did with aggroshaman into midrange

Don't play on the ladder then.
Folks genuinely play to get out of the 'easy ranks' as fast as possible which is around 20-12 roughly. After that you'll see the real form of what folks are playing and experimenting with. Everything above that is basically just folks playing on the ladder casually with no real goal or reason to be there.
Folks aren't playing Hearthstone to interact with others. There's no way to interact with others, emotes are fun to pass the time and piss off people but... not much else than that.
I play ladder because I enjoy the challenge a lot, I'm not complaining about them being op, they run out of steam fast, if you know the matchup. You logic to people escape easy ranks would make sense if I didn't saw a lot of aggro shamans by ranks 5+ pre-yogg nerf and on legend, as well as pirates last season. But whatever makes aggro players(you included?) happy, haha

My reno deck can handle the pirates... but it's up to the shamans to hold back the jade druids.
