I just spoke with one of my friends who I'd say is on a similar tier to me in terms of Hearthstone ability (or maybe call it RNG?) and he told me that he disenchanted ALL of his wild cards so that he could craft some of the legendaries/epics/etc that he needed to climb ladder in standard.
What is the general opinion on doing this? Obviously neither he or I have all the legendaries we'd like to at this point in time, but is disenchanting EVERY wild card a bit dramatic? Is there any reason why he might regret doing so, even though at the moment it seems like we'll only be playing standard?
What do you guys think? Has anyone else dusted their wild cards and moved on? I don't think I'd be able to cope with throwing away all the good old memories.
In my opinion this is pretty stupid. Right now yeah he might dislike wild mode but one day he might try to play some fun wild decks and he won't be able to. I disenchanted some cards from wild mode aswell, but only from GvG mode and only some epics that I didn't play before anyway. Like some Shaman murloc epic (don't even remember the name), golden Soot Spewer, Shadow bomber and few others that probably will never see play but if they will i can just craft them back. But DE the whole set? That's a little bit dramatic as you have already mentioned.
If you think that you will NEVER EVER want to play Wild again then you might consider it... however, Blizzard have said that Tavern Brawls will be Wild format so all those old cards will be useful there, plus all Solo Adventures are also Wild format so beating a heroic version of a boss might take some of those cards so for those reasons, I have held on to all of mine.
I will never get tired of stating this: NEVER, i repeat: NEVER dust ANYTHING you don't already have 2 of. You WILL regret it sooner or later, for sure. Dust math is clearly against you (DE 4 legs to craft one?!? doesn't this already ring a bell?), plus you never know what the future holds.
And why wouldn't you want to play wild? Are you a tournament pro player who plays at home exclusively to train for tournaments? In every other case i can't see even just ONE reason not to.
Why are you so interested in ranking up?
I'm sure Wild will be fun, you'll be able to make decks that in 1-2 expansions will have crazy synergies and super-powerful combos, so why not? I'm already having fun with my Wild Murlocs, and I'm sure I'll have even more when I'll find the time to make some other wild decks, so why would you deny yourself such fun and cut your HS experience by half?
Dude, don't do it. Or at least wait until the WotOG hype dies down so you don't regret destroying your collection for a bunch of meh cards that you're never going to use after the first month.
Unless you have absolute garbage like Bolf, don't DE your stuff. You will never come out on top this way. If you are f2p, then just keep grinding and building your collection.
Let me look into my crystal bowl...hm, I see people complaining about the stale meta in about two months... ... oh wait, that was already yesterday, geez that was quick...
So I think it will be wise to keep the wild cards, at least all the competetive wild Cards, to be able to make a deck with different cards from the Standard decks just for variety and fun in case you start to get bored of the standard meta...

Honestly, I don't get it.
I fully agree, saying right now that you will never play wild is silly and unrealistic.
Man, if you are a f2p player like me, just do it. I'm a scavenger, not a collector, so no point in keeping a Dr. Boom to look at him and remember those days of balanced boredoom. There's no point in playing Wild since I will always be more limited .Those cards are gone, so give me all dust. No ragrets. 7000 dust came from those cars, and here I am, with a midrange Shaman deck made from scratch and some dust to craft a tier 1 deck when meta gets defined.
tl;dr- dust if you don't pay for cards, keep it if you are a collector and have some pride in possessing virtual objects
Don't be narrow-minded, it's not JUST a collector's thing... it's that YOU NEVER KONW WHAT FUTURE HOLDS...
It's a game, it's supposed to be about FUN, so let me tell you something:
A while ago there was this brawl where all your minions cost 1 and their stats were tuned down to 1/1, but they kept all abilities. So I crafted a deck using all the cards with powerful effects since mana cost wasn't an issue anymore... I ended up putting cards like Gruul. Now, Gruul is a card everyone (or almost everyone) DEs immediatly. He never saw constructed play, so why keeping it? Well it turned out he was a BEAST for that brawl. You may argue: it's a brawl, I don't give a f**k, i just win one, bank my pack and forget it till next week. And you would be wrong: I pulled 60+ wins with 5 min max games (often quicker than that), with a winrate of like 85%... got a nice amount of gold and a HUGE amount of fun. All this thanks to cards like Gruul.
Who would have thought, right?
EDIT: now that I think about it, there was Edwin too, another auto-DE card...
I get the idea, but I wouldnt. I love some of my wild cards and old decks. I still want to play them. The cards are also great for tavern brawls, which will still be wild. I don't want to build crap decks some weeks because I dusted everything. Tavern brawl is really fun when you build something crazy, and I play a lot of seamingly bad cards in that format.
tavern brawl -- keep wild cards, but of course, not necessary. 1 win in tavern brawl with limited cards is not difficult. i'm more casual and like options so i'm keeping wild. :)
I didnt disenchant,it would be stuipid. Why ruin collection for few more dust.I dont need play 10 decks at once. And i heard that brode said that there is possibility for gvg and naxx to comeback one day.And Wild cards are good for Tavern Brawl
It's a bad idea for sure. Since WoG went live I played only standard, but after the infinite waves of Shamans I got pissed and started playing some wild and I can say it was very refreshing since I haven't played against any shaman. So yeah, when you get bored of the Standard meta, you can try the Wild one and have diversity.

Don't read this...
Damn! This is the kinda stuff I'm glad that I now know.
I guess if i need that little bit of extra dust i'll disenchant some of the less played cards, but I'll hold onto the OP stuff just incase.

Missing lethal since June 2015.

BBQ an egg?
I had fun with Wild cards while it lasted but I've beat all the dungeons on heroic and I'm ready for the new school.
Also, I'm F2P so how else am I going to cop a gold Yogg-Saron, Hope's End?

Because collections for collections' sake are meaningless?

I DEed every card that isn't Standard and as soon as it becomes craftable, I will DE Old Murk-Eye too, since I don't want any Wild cards.
