I remember back in the 90s discovering and loving the band 311.  They were technical, they produced great music for the era, and I was convinced they were geniuses....and then I heard an interview and realized they were the a bunch of potheads who somehow stumbled into making great music, despite themselves.  I have deja vu reading these interviews with Hearthstone designers; I love the game, but I am convinced they are a bunch of potheads who somehow stumbled into something great, despite themselves.

just saying: the greatest musicians and bands in modern music were/are major potheads who somehow stumbled into making great music...

The problem with Hearthstone is that they refuse to open a PTR.

mmm yeah why not open a PTR where everyone can play with full collection for free? That's definitely not gonna hurt the business at all (and starve HS to death in a couple of months)...

I don't agree, this is the only card I know of that says "keeps the buff". no other card that gets shuffled back into the deck says that, unless you can give me an example, and bendictus says "shuffle a copy" the Kingsbane is in there and I do not get a copy of the card in the deck I get a different card.... not salty, I won the game anyway just I dont think the rules your applying count to this cards as it specifically says "keeps the buff".

You are exacltly right to say you get a different card, the wording feels wrong, but the way this works in hearthstone is consistent. Except c’thun, which if I remember correctly, works with your own copies but not your enemies, because the buffs are an aura your hero has, not attached to c’thun, just like when you copy minions from hand or deck of somebody who played rogues quest reward, they don’t have buffs since it is an aura you own. Kingsbane is unique with the keeps buffs mechanic, and copying cards does not copy buffs unless you are copying from and to the board. All the mechanics of the game are following logical rules, whether or not the language on the cards does is different, and because the game is digital you can’t mess up and do the wrong thing with a card, just mess up and make a bad play because you misunderstood.
precisely: C'Thun's buffs are an aura which applies to your own C'Thun and its copies, if there's any. But try to copy your opponent's C'Thun and see for yourself. Actually I don't even know why you claim to know how something works if you haven't even tried for yourself... Once again: copies in HS end up being the original card (except, as said above, if you copy from the board to the board, ie Faceless Manipulator). That's it.

(...), but someone on these forums posted a link to rolling Stone article about a very real algorithm Activision has that purposefully puts players in unfavorable matchups to encourage spending money. (...)

    Proof would be nice.

Just a question though, if one player is put in an unfavorable matchup to encourage spending money, who is the other player that is given the free win?

If losing encourages people to spend money, wouldn't it be simpler to just do nothing. As we know, one of the players inevitably has to lose.

Still, it's a new patent (october 2017) and anyway still no proof that it's implemented. So far EVERY existing statistic proofs the opposite so... bring those counterproofs on, guys!

usually in HS when you create copies of a card, the copy ignores buffs, debuffs, mana cost reductions/increases, damage taken etc... so I think this case is consistent with the way copies have always worked.

what drives me crazy about this, is the fact that this tinfoil-hat-thinking is spreading around. That led us to anti-vaccine movement, for instance... I mean, that is something!

people with no education whatsoever, unable to do simple math, logic, statistics, anything really, but still convinced that THEY know better, THEY know the truth that everyone else is failing to see (doesn't matter if someone brings proof, THEY are right, others are just blind slaves of the evil system).

Today I've made my mind: I'll never try to have a discussion with them again, or prove them wrong. It's waste of time and i feel like feeding trolls. So enough.

And maybe if everyone else would stop interacting with them, they would slowly fade away.

I mean, in the past the village's fool wasn't listened to, you didn't try to reason with him... he was just ignored and pointed at as a fool. Why can't we do the same with these fools?

I wish HP added a "tinfoil hat" option in report form. Little bit nazi style, which I despise, but I'm honestly fed up.

I'm just saying, look how often each class you play or play against gets their optimal 1 drop on turn one.  Mana Wyrm, Nothshire Cleric, etc all have very high rates of being in the opening hand, seemingly higher than is statistically likely.  How hard would it be to "weight" certain cards to maintain game flow?  How hard would it be to turn said weight off in the event of a win streak?

have you done ANY math on that?
so go read this and if you still think it's rigged go see a doctor.

    a good one

posted a message on Is reward system enough? (POLL)
    Quote from Joseph9100 >>

I'm sure your preaching to the choir here. Personally I've always thought the day to day rewards for Hearthstone where just a bit off, even from day one, although it did get better with the Brawls, and ladder rewards. The daily quests for the most part are fine,

BUT the way they deal with the 100G limit from 30wins a day is garbage, especially when they added more full expansions a year. the whole system is horrendously outdated, it's more or less balanced around when the game was 3 years old.

I just think that 100G a day is too unrealistic and unattainable for any typical person who plays Hearthstone, not to mention the whole concept as it is creates plethora of problems.

    • Firstly you can only get portions of the 100G limit by winning, which encourages players not too experiment but rather chose specific decks that maximise their chances to win.
    • Secondly, Hearthstone games have a VERY high variance of game durations. One time you can play a game that last 60 seconds, the next A GAME LONGER THAN HOTS! The way that 100G is currently given encourages fast brainless decks over slower, more thoughtful ones.
    • The 100G requires so many wins for so little reward that most players chose to just stack daily quests and complete them all at once because it more efficient. This means less active day to day users, and less games played.
    • Finally wins and by extension that 100G is harder to achieve the higher you go, which seems counter productive to gold farming, it even encourges players tank their rank to ensure an easier time, or go to casual. Overall that seems horrific for new players.

I'd argue that the game would be about right with rewards gain was more passive by just playing the game normally in whatever manner you prefer...

Meaning, I think they should make the 100G limit tied to stuff like games played, actions taken, damage done, spells cast, minions summoned. It would be as easier for more people to get more gold even if it's just an extra 30G a day, it would add up. Not to mention it might go as far as solving some of the problems it currently causes.

It isn't the system that creates problems, it's the player base... people thinking like you do... people forgetting that this is a game that's supposed to be fun. If all you want from a game is rewards to give your playtime a meaning, maybe you should look for some other hobby... cause the main reward a game can offer is amusement... the day you'll understand this you'll all stop whining like babies.
"But there's no amusement in getting smashed by cancer aggro decks on ladder!" (random hpwn user reply)
Then switch to casual... or you need to rank up to compensate for the lenght of your ****? to feel like you're someone? to brag with your legend card back?
But no, nowadays players want to be competitive right away, without spending a dime... and accuse Blizzard (which apparently has to be a no-profit company, right?)  of being greedy... funny isn't it, coming from ppl not spending a dime on a game?
How can a non-paying customer have the right to complain?

No it's not. Just look at any other ccg like eternal, gwent, elder scrolls legends... they all give better rewards. They should definitely increase reward for 3 wins and increase the 100 gold cap.

comparing rewards from HS and Eternal is just nonsense... did you notice that you can put 4 copies of any card (including legendaries) in a deck? did you notice that packs CAN'T have more than one rare (which from time to time can be a legendary)? did you notice the dust gain on commons?!? I know it's hard to think before writing but man, just try...

God, some of you people sicken me. This card is decent--as are 50% of the other cards immediately deemed "unplayable" weeks before they're available for use AND BEFORE THE FULL SET HAS EVEN BEEN REVEALED. Geez...

Good thing that we have you to bless us with your constructive feedback. Thx :)
This IS constructed feedback. I'm sick too of people thinking they know better than devs, that cards suck before they even try them ingame, that blizzard is willingly going against some class or another... man, there's even someone in this thread that still goes on with the "blizzard gives no love to priest" like we're back in 2015... honestly I can understand some people have nothing better to do than posting random whines on forums (that's sad but true) but there should be a limit. At least wait till all set is released, try out the cards yourself, and THEN come here compalining, if needed...

    Quote from Tn1_Seven >>

I hate that they've done this. To me this is just sheer laziness to not find another solution. They could have easily just given it a special interaction with Dreadsteed that only damages the Dreadsteed once.

yeah why not? always better to set exceptions than to change things to make them working within the rules right?
that would be an interesting card text: "Deal 1 damage to all minions. If any that isn't a Dreadsteed dies, cast this again".
Damn, how people at Blizzard didn't consider this?!?
    (obviously sarcastic)
