I have heard people saying that renolock is objectively better (or almost objectively better) than handlock, but I can't remember where that came from.
So I wonder what is the general public's opinion on comparison between these 2 decks?
in this meta? handlock can be easily wrecked by combo druid, secret pala, aggro shaman before you can play your wall of taunts...
reno deck have less threats, but reno can save your ass from spell burst.
At this moment imho renolock>handlock
but im not sure.
thanks for feedback, tbh I'm not surprised reno is better, healing to full health is just too good an effect for a control deck, and the one-of restriction isn't that big of a sacrifice (or any at all, if you consider the variety that it brings). I'm only curious if anyone else is thinking reno is *objectively* better than handlock.
It's interesting to see a thread like this cuz yesterday i was thinking about renolock, and how populated the meta is with druids. So then i decided to make a handlock deck, and made it. Didn't try it yet tho
Hey can i add you so you can give me some advices about handlock, i am an oldschool zoo player but didn't play with handlock much, i played some renolock versions tho.
I would really appreciate if you could help me , i'm on EU server
The only reason why renolock is more popular right now is because the ladder is populated with agro decks. Healing to full health against aggro is just too good of a deal, especially in warlock where you have to use life as a resource to draw more cards. Handlock is actually better against decks like midrange druid, oil rogue, and other control decks. They dish out bigger threats, can setup more taunts, and is more consistent overall. If the meta ever becomes less ago oriented, handlock will probably overshadow renolock.
Renolock is better in the most of the matchups, also in game reno vs hand, reno wins.
It's actually the the other way around. In a reno vs handlock matchup, handlock wins. They have bigger minions, more consistent draw, and handlock is too slow to deal with their bigger minions (x2 mountain giants, against a slow deck is extremely good). Also, if the old Patron Warrior still existed, people would use handlock more often because renodecks are very bad dealing with combo decks.
I am still not sure which i like better, but i have been playing more reno than hand. When handlock draws good it crushes everything, but i have had more consistency issues with it. And against control the moltens can sit in your hand forever and not be playable after you Jaraxxus. Reno seems to fit best in Warlock because it is so good with the hero ability. Also Warlock has many good tools to fight both aggro and control.

Yeah sure... Handlock shits on reno in the matchup. All reno players do during the matchup is try to survive with their clears, they are always behind and have no board control for the whole matchup.

Renolock is better now for sure, it has more answers. Handlock is probably the favorite if you pit them against eachother though.
Personally I rather hang out with Reno than Hank.

For me was a lot funnier to handlock than to renolock. Problem is, all these hard aggros make handlock not viable.
The feeling of ruining a SMOrc day with full heal is good, but I still prefer (and find stronger too) the giants's march.

Reno is better period. It's not just in the current meta, I suspect it will always be better.
