i recently posted a thread on how to spend my dust and which legendary should i craft with it..
since i already have dr. boom ... the overwhelming answer was sylvanas windrunner ...
but the thing is... every time my oppenents play her...i just counter her so easily and most of the time she's a plain 6 mana 5/5
since i dont have her i used Piloted Sky Golem as an alternative 6 drop...and i think sky golem gave me better results overall than when my oppenents used their sylvanas
so i she really the 2nd best legendary in the game after dr. boom?
That completely depends on what decks you want to play. Overall I would say: yes Sylvanas fits in most decks that are generally considered good.
In paladin Tirion though is clearly better.
In mage: Antonidas
Sylvanas over Ragnaros or Ysera depends on your other cards. Its true that a good mid mana cost card can be easier replaced by Skygolem for example while there are very few high mana cost non legendary heavy hitters, which are more important in heavy Control decks. So maybe ragnaros or Ysera might be better for you (also just for the fun factor, you will subjectively likely have more fun playing ragnaros or ysera than sylvanas since her advantage is more subtle).
Sylvanas is such a good 6 drop because it very often forces the opponent to do sub par plays by either: 1. trading into her inefficiently so that she doesnt steal something good. 2. Using silence or if the board is empty using heavy removal so as to not loose a minion if played 3. It has pseudo taunt since its quite important to remove her before you have the chance to do VERY favourable trades. 4. It prevents the oponent of playing big minions his turn if he cant remove Sylvanas out of fear of loosing it.
Hope that helps

i really like paladin and want to craft Tirion Fordring .. but i just feel like non- secret paladins now are just sub bar.. i tried a midrange paladin .. a standard version...only subbed eadric the pure for tirion ...and i lost 6 games in a row at rank 4

I played Dragon Priest and slipped close to rank 7 (from rank 5 with 3 stars). Decided to try Midrange Pally and I got back to rank 5 4 stars pretty quickly.
Dragon Priest is highly inconsistent. If you don't get your early drops with a high drop dragon in hand, then you basically just lose at turn one.
As for Midrange Paladin, it's one of the most steady decks out there. You really don't have too many bad matchups, and even the ones you DO have aren't nearly the level of Freeze Mage vs Control Warrior against you.
To answer OP question, though, Sylvanas Windrunner is exactly as good as she's cracked up to be, if not better. Once she hits the board, you force your opponent to deal with her. At the worst, she absorbs a silence (which most decks don't run many of) and frees up another minion later that you really don't want to be silenced (Tirion Fordring for example) and still provides a 5/5 body to fight for the board. At best, she steals their most powerful minion or forces your opponent to over commit to the board in hopes that you don't steal their best minion when she dies (not to mention her power plays, such as dropping her before Brawl in Control Warrior so you automatically win the Brawl no matter what).
She's become a tech card, a really strong strong tech card......with boobs.
edit: i use her in my tempo mage isntead of water elemental and she helps me deal with flooded boards and control warriors, the former is a nice help the later is a deck that my particular list would have troubles with if it wasn't for her.
when i play say with my own version of control priest .. i have these auto win matches .. like when i face a hunter or a tempo/mech mage i'll 90% win easily
but with midrange paladin...i just feel the deck doesn't have any favourable matches.. the game draws out and i end up running out of cards if i dont find lay on hands or i just end up dead before doing anything
midrange paladin can be seemingly unstoppable if you curve out perfectly .. like turn 1 zombie..turn 2 minibot/juggler .. turn 3 muster and so on
but this happens like 1 in 10 games
i think it's at the bottom of tier 2 decks... or even among tier 3 decks
Sylvanas is a great legendary but not so good in a meta of aggro because shes too slow and will probably steal something shitty. However, what she is really good at is creating awkward situations where you opponent has to trade awkwardly, and sometimes she will steal something valuable. She's great in any control match up and is great when played from behind.
People most likely play her wrong, that's why your notion that you counter her with ease. But if you play her right, she's at least good if not amazing.
In a control meta, sylv is one of the best cards in the game. In a faster meta, she's still good enough to fit in some decks, but is by no means a must have.
Sylvanas Windrunner is very good card indeed, but not in this meta. Many decks that previously ran Sylvanas Windrunner now tend not to, because of all the fast decks running around. I find her too slow right now and would only consider playing her in very heavy control deck, like control warrior and control priest, which can trigger her effect instantly via death/slam etc.
Sylvanas is a tricky card to play - especially against decks that either flood the board or play very little. Idealy you're looking to play her when you are slightly, but not too far behind in game, or when you need to bait out silence.

or should i just go with Ysera ..Ragnaros the Firelord .. Tirion Fordring.... jaraxxuss or archmage

It depends on what deck you are playing but sylvanas is overall a must have. If you play paladin tho tirion is much more important than her
oh shit waddup
i have sylvanas but rarely run her. sometimes she is good when the meta shifts to slower tempo.
in some decks like control warrior n control paladin she is ok. u cn run her in some other decks as well but i wouldnt count her as 2nd best lege.
the answer depends on what u play since if u dont play lets say paladin , no matter how strong tirion is ull never use him.

Besides, secret pallies run tirion.
Wait ...exactly how did you fall a full 2 ranks with dragon priest ???
dragon priest counters most aggressive decks that are overwhelming the ladder right now which midrange paladin fails to do so

i like it when she gets countered though..... it makes me free to play saraad, dr. boom, baron, justicar, ysera, grommash....
you all mention how good sylvanas is in control warrior... i want to know how good it's in general ... i dont play control warrior anyway
