It depends on the deck. In control deck where you usually keep your hand as full as possible it's way stronger then Chillwind Yeti. In standard decks it's not true, because although you might get some more points of health out of it early game, he is much worse later on and he is also very weak to silences, especially Earth Shock.
Depends on the deck one advantage drakes have is they are silence and removal bait which is good for you if you have something bigger you do not want silenced or removed immediately.

Yeah...it was quite satisfying for me to Earth Shock a Twilight Drake once that was dropped as a 4/8.
I disagree that twilight is better than yeti, pretty much for the sole reason of silence. Before they nerfed them way back in the day both there hp and attack were variable and they were amazing except that everyone ran tons of silences because they were in every deck. the point is silence is still their weakness.
Let's say you're running aggro weenie rush. Then you don't run either, so no difference.
Let's say you're running something else, maybe control or whatever. Depending on the situation, you can get Twilight Drake's health above 5, which situationally can be very useful. But you can't adjust Yeti no matter what.
So let's say Twilight Drake gets silenced, boo hoo. But it still needs to be killed, and it still has 4 power. And that's Silence that isn't going on Cairne Bloodhoof, Ragnaros, Sylvanas Windrunner, Ysera, whatever, really. He rams Drake with a weenie, okay, you took out a Silence and a weenie. He runs over Drake with a fatty, great, you whacked fatty for 4 damage and took less damage to your life points. Yes, your opponent has choices in how to deal with Drake, but considering you may have some flexibility in Drake's health, and the fact that you may be following up Drake with a bunch of rather nastier minions that *really* need to be Silenced, I'd hardly call Drake a "mistake".
As for late game, yes, Twilight Drake is low on health. But at that point, I don't think topdecking Yeti is much better than Drake anyways, in terms of changing whatever board position is already there.
IMO Twilight Drake is maximum one per deck. The ideal drop is 4th turn. You can mess with the timing a bit, but typically you only really want to drop the Drake once.

If you find my posts to be rude, objectionable, or whatever, well, I got tired of writing polite TL; DR (Too Long, Didn't Read) posts at crybaby whiners. So now I just make it short and nasty.
If you find that funny, well and good. If you find that sad, that's even better.
Twilight drake dies miserably to things like earth shock*
Well, yes. But then, that's just something you have to deal with when you're up against Shaman. The point isn't that Twilight Drake is supposed to be better in *every* situation, just *most* situations. Plus, again, I'd say it's max one per deck, for non-rush decks, and only if you have followup minions that are nasty if left unsilenced.
Another example of what I'm talking about is with Tinkmaster Overspark vs the 2-drop 2/1 Beast that deals silence. Tinkmaster's like a Silence, combined with a way to mess with the base stat of a card like Ysera by turning it into a 5/5 at worst. But Tinkmaster's taking that RNG chance of actually *pumping* the base stats of an enemy minion if it's targeting, say, Dire Buzzard. So in some situations Tink's better; in some situations the wee beastie's better. But usually players go with Tink exactly because it *can* generally neutralize the gigantic power/toughness menaces, even if it is worse in almost every way against the rush. It's the same thing with Twilight Drake imo.
Of course, yeah, I have six days of experience in Hearthstone (fear my l33t experience!), but that's my impression.

Yeti is not a great card, like some make out. I don't think facing one, or two, has ever caused me grief. I don't worry when I see them dropped. It's a plain-jane. easy deal with.
A strongly played Drake does require attention. As mentioned, it can be dealt with in many ways, but that's still having to 'deal with' - as in, use up other cards/spells that you may have been saving for other situations.
It depends really on how and when each gets played. I find most players waste the yeti tbh. they random drop it in like it's going to do something miraculous.
To me depending on the deck the fact that the drake is silence bait is why I use it over yeti. In a late game control deck you probably have a few a creatures that can be silenced to ruin your day. Would you rather the drake eat the silence mid game or have the silence hit your ysera, sylvanas, cairne, tirion, van cleef, ancient of war, questing adventurer, auctioneer etc... If I am running 2-3 cards I consider more valuable yet vulnerable to silence I will take the drake over the yeti every other time yeti wins.
Give me a Yeti any day, especially over a Twilight Drake. The Yeti will usually always require two cards to remove from the board. And usually two important cards. It will die to an Arcanite Reaper but thats your opponents turn 5 play used to take out your turn 4 play. You also dont have to hold on to your hand to make it worthwhile, you can play other stuff up to turn 4 and maintain board control at the same time. Given the choice between the two? Its a yeti everytime.

My guess is that you run Argus Defender (edit) - shoot, got the card name wrong. The one that drops and gives adjacent minions 1/1 and Taunt - and/or Sunfury Protector a lot? Actually, that's my general guess for most players that would run Yeti in preference to Twilight Drake. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Nope not really, I dont like the Drake because it requires you to not act for 4 turns to make it any better than a Yeti, and even then its still not better than a yeti because of things like earth shock, spellbreakers and ironbeak owls. And if you do play cards leading up to your turn 4 Twilight Drake and it is a 4/5, then whats the point of playing it over a Yeti when it has the weaknesses mentioned above? And the Yeti has no weakness, and will generally always trade 2 for 1
Wanted to get you opinion on this. A twilight drake played on turn 4 is always at least as strong as a yeti. How true is this?
Also, Blizzard needs to make use of the "dragon" status already >_<
Thanks FOO(The Banner God)!

Interesting. Seems like running 2 twilight drakes is not ideal for decks that aren't focused on control ie. HandLock.

Give me a Sen'jin over either every game.
There's reasons for have/not having either. Though, I must say as mentioned earlier, it sure is sooooo enjoyable to Earth Shock one.

Well to be fair, 1 earthshock kills 1 drake while 1 arcanite reaper kills 2 yetis

True. Good point.
