Even with the 1 drop to the opponent this is strongest 4 Drop in the game. Finally something that surpasses the mighty Chillwind Yeti. It's a instant pick in Arena draft. You see a Hungry Dragon, you pick a Hungry Dragon. IMO this card is broken in Arena. Basically whoever drafts and plays one on Turn 4 just wins the game. IMO the battlecry should give opponent a 2 drop. Not to mention this card is going to be even more OP with the new dragon synergy we have yet to fully see.
This card is best with priest..The healing and health boosts will just make this a snowball in Arena or Constructed.
Also Pit Lord makes zero sense know with the addition of this card. Pit Lord is a class card and ''epic'' yet it's the same or worse then a common Neutral. That by itself is broken and Pit Lord needs a overhaul. Class cards should always be a little better then the neutral. Reducing the damage to 3 would balance this very well and Flame Imp reduced to 1 damage. These 2 cards are very out of date and are no longer as powerful as they once were.
that and elven archer GG it's a 5 mana 5/6 with battlecry summon a 1/1 elven archer. (jk) but with mct and doctor balanced you play 7 mana to steal the war golem and summon something 2 minions with combined stats better than wargolem, if you are lucky
Anubar Ambusher has only +1 comparing to Yeti and HUGE drawback. And it is a class card, that should be better then common. Now we have Hungry Dragon having +1/+1 over Yeti and it is for all classes with less drawback. OP as hell
Even if you have a deck with a lot of cool battlecries for Anubar Ambusher, returning a minion to your hand makes you lose a lot of tempo and board presence.
yeah if you see it statistically i think the possibility of your opponent to get a 1/2 is very high. so giving him an 1/2 and getting a 5/6 for 4 mana is a great deal. i think yeti will dissapear completely and we will see only shredder and hungry dragon for the 4 mana slot
On the other hand, the opponent can use that free 1-mana minion on the next turn and pop a removal spell, assuming they have one. A turn 2 Innervate+Yeti is just as threatening, despite the lower stats, IMO.
If we throw this card right into the current meta then yes, i agree it will be kinda OP. Personally i can't think of any good 1-drops that can justify as the downside for this 5/6 dragon. Zombie Chow? Webspinner? UT? Dust Devil?
Then again, BRM might also offer some better 1-drops or even some Dragon hate tech cards. So, let's just wait and see. Worst case scenario we go back to the days of an OP card dominating the meta for 2 months before it gets nerfed, a.k.a. Blizzard.

hungry dragons power is not showing on ramp druid but on aggro decks like zoo. imagine you have flooded the board and you need a turn 4 strong move, hungry dragon is terrifying in aggro cause the drawback of giving them a 1 mana cost minion is nothing as aggro will already have a board to trade efficiently with it. i know many of you havent really thought about it a lot but even though 5/6 is only 1/1 away of 4/5 a 5/6 is a LOT stickier and a LOT more of a threat than a 4/5
I really like this card alot. It isn't nearly as game changing as some of the rng introduced in gvg. It's a more acceptable type of rng imo. It isn't something like Dr. Boom where the worst case scenario is still a good scenario (both bombs hitting for 1) and the best case scenario (hitting for 4) can be game changing and only benefits you at the cost of the opponent. When you play this card you play it knowing you are giving the opponent a slight advantage. Besides, the worst case scenario for this card stat wise is summoning a 3/2 which is hardly game changing for the stats you are getting. Other than that the only thing I can think of is giving the opponent a dust devil and having no way to deal with it on turn 4
I dont find this card being that good? giving stuff to your opponent is not good, unless you combo it with MCT or anything else, but why you would run this card, for example over Pit Lord? That minion that you give to our opponent can just be buffed or anything else, or it simply make your Dragon a 5/4??? I have to see it first, I only see it "viable" in Dragon decks.
You still have the opportunity to remove whatever minion you give your opponent before the end of your turn. Nobody seems to realize this.
What, i am the only one to realize this?? nope, look at this tweet:
I don't think this is that op at all: if you play this first, then the opponent has an attacking one drop the next turn for free, which for some decks with efficient removal spells or attack-buffing minions (zoo, shaman, mage, hunter...) is a very big deal. example: opponent is a mage, he gets a 2/1, in his turn he frostbolts and pins your dear dragon, then attacks it with the 2/1. Result: your minion died to a frostbolt. IMHO that is less value than a yeti.
Sorry, but all the people who say this is op and trades evenly with sludge belcher: do you all forget Ancient Brewmaster? He was a 5/4 to beginn with and traded always evenly with this card. Now we get a 5/4 (the enemy 1 mana is mostly a 2/1) that also trades evenly with the enemy. so it's no different, both traded always evenly with him. But still it does not outclass sludge belcher; as long as he is 2 taunts in 1 he will be always useful.
In the end this card will be no autoinclude in every deck: if you can deal with him the 1 drop can be very dangerous: Think of giving the enemy rogue a Dust Devil, then he oils him... instant loss.
Does not say it happens always and he is strong, but not stronger than cards we already have. And compared to Goblin Blastmage, he is still worse.
Only deck this will be a auto-include is Priest: we can heal the damage of the 1 mana minion easily away: even more: we can give him a 1 mana minion, trade with another minion and draw something with Northshire Cleric.
Edit: We also have Lost Talstrider since the last xpack and nobody plays him. so why should Hungry Dragon now be an auto-include in all aggro-decks: Lost Tallstrider doesn't have a drawback but still nobody plays him. So i don't think that the upcoming 5/4 will be played too (except priest)
And why is it a problem that Belcher will get annihilated on curve? A new staple card to counter an old staple card which everyone now uses, seems fair to me. There are too much belcher already.
The problem is that against aggro Sludge Belcher became required with the increase of dealthrattle minions (indirect nerf to removal spells). What other options is there as neutral taunt? Lord of the Arena?Sunwalker also 5 health and aggro has plenty low drops to drop shield. 5 attack is MUCH stronger then 4 attack in aggro.

I think this tiny drawback doesnt worth that +1/+1 on yeti. Even if you play this card on 10 turn, 1 drop wont do much. Great and solid card.
Stampeding Kodo is on curve. Or you could just kill it with the Win Axe or your minions from the previous turn.
That's the worst possible from a card value standpoint but there are worse results to tempo already covered.
Hungry Dragon 5/6 is god tier stats. This card alone Nerfs Sludge Belcher which in return buffs Piloted Shredder.
Only efficient ways to defend against Hungry Dragon would be Shadow Word: Death or Cruel Taskmaster + Big Game Hunter/Execute
If it's not dealt against immediately this card will tear through a Sludge Belcher on curve which is quite often your only play.
At first I thought it would be a good control card, now I realized it's going to be in aggro decks.

also synergy with sea giant :)

Nope. Card is not as strong as it looks like.

Hungry Dragon itself counters Mechanical Yeti, which will lead to even more popular use of Piloted Shredder.
