Eh, its really slow but people already use Alexstrasza to gain a little health after stabilizing, this seems like a win more card against aggro. Hell if you get to turn 9 and healing for 20 is pretty good, depending on board state. This could let you survive for a turn or 2. Hard to judge, definitely only in a ramp taunt heavy druid.
It's exactly what Ben said in the tweet though haha. I think I might include one in my ramp deck. Against hunter, sometimes if you survive to those late games, his Kill Command + Hero Power is enough to kill you off anyways. This completely resets your health, and, assuming his Kill Commands are gone, you're pretty much bound to win. I think I like it.

I haven't read the tweet, but i would guess that's wrong. For example, if you have Stoneskin Gargoyle (Restore this Minion to full Health) together with Auchenai Soulpriest, it does not always kill itself. For example, if it was hit for 1 HP, it would usually heal for one health, but with Auchenai, it deals 1 damage to itself. Tree of Life is the same concept, so if you are on >15 Health, it does not kill you but deal 30 - x (x= your health) damage to you.
Now, if you thoughtsteal this with say 20 health while your enemy is below 15 Health, you win the game if you manage to combo it with Auchenai. Of course, this is a really unlikely scenario, but will definitely be fun!
He says "Tree of Life + Auchenai = everyone dies" so it's pretty straightforward
So how exactly would this work in a tournament where it came down to Priest vs Druid in the last game? What would the ruling be if Priest stole this and use it with Auchenai Soulpriest? I guess the person who pulled the trigger would take the loss; is my guess.
Well, Ben Brode is not always 100% right. I don't see why this card would work differently than other cards with the same effect.
It's true he isn't always right. I hope it works like you think it does, because that would cause some really interesting plays. If not, then the card will just be used with Auchenai to force a tie.

It would result in a tie, same thing with Hellfire when both heros are at low health. Anyhow, this is the best combo ever to save for the end of the game. "Oh you are going to win? Naw, Tree of Death."
I dont really see how you can efficiently use this card, by turn 9 you normally should've already won or lost against aggro, which is the only scenario this would be relevant.
This is useful if you managed to survive an aggro onslaught till Turn 9, and your opponent is running out of steam and the game is starting to turn in your favour, but your health is too low to kill him before he kills you (especially with Hunter's hero ability which cannot be blocked). Basically it buys you more time to put your big minions into play. Probably not a very frequent occurrence though.
And everyone was so disappointed after ancestor's call and blaming people for choosing obviously 100x worse card. This isn't THAT much better though. This also can be used in late game if you think you have better hand/deck left to reset the health.
I'm definitely gonna try this out in my druid mill deck. Could also be useful to innervate into or even with wild growth. Seems more like a card to get you back in the game after an opponent has used most of their removal against you.
Ben Brode just said on Twitter that if a priest Thoughtsteals this card and plays it with Auchenai on the board, everyone dies...awesome!
i'm quite sure that this was actually the real purpose of this card and not for healing :)
Works for me. My lifedream is to make this happen!
As for this, note that ramp druid means they get to 9 mana pretty easily, so they can make use of this well.
The PROBLEM is that they use their entire turn to do it.
Basically a ramp vs Hunter deck. Know that point when hunter is out of ammo and just wearing you down with their hero power? Yeah. This is their nightmare as Druid at turn 10 can wip you from 30 faster than a topdecking hunter can.
Sidenote: This then next turn Alex. Note that druid has good card pull AND miracle druids do exist.
How about Alex first on your opponent, then use this. Will you get 30 hp and your opponent 15? Or will Alex battlecry be reset?
Alexstrasza doesn't set their max life to 15, it sets their current life to 15. You can tell by the fact that molten giant doesn't change cost and that the health value is red instead of white.

I don't think this is very good, against burst decks you're most likely dead by turn 9 anyway.

Surprise!
Interesting mechanic - a reverse board flip. God help the poor souls we'll lose in the inevitable Pally/Priest vs. Druid 2x ToL 8 hour long matches

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
If I steal a claw/bite and Tree and I do claw and tree or whatever Would it kill me even though I have armor?
You would have to build a deck around it but it looks like it could work. It's gimmicky for sure.
