hear me out, Avenging Wrath was a card played in aggro paladin sometimes (AKA shockadin) in the past yeah, I know it SEEMS bad, but actually it's quite worth the mana, it's like a Flamewaker + Arcane Missiles that combo devastated my board(early game) multiple times back in blackrock.
my first reaction was also "this is bad" but the thing is that if you throw enough missiles it's much much stronger.
Also odd mage. 2 of this is a Timepiece of Horror (the worst rafaam option I know.. but still)
Arcane Missles - 1 mana, 1 card, - 3 random damage - 1 mana is worth about 1 damage, 1 card is worth 1 damage (Moonfire), gain +1 damage for making all of them random.
Cinderstorm - 3 mana, 1 card, - 5 random damage - 3 mana is worth about 3 damage, 1 card is worth 1 damage, gain +1 damage for making them all random.
Avenging Wrath - 6 mana, 1 card, - 8 random damage - 6 mana is worth about 6 damage, 1 card is worth 1 damage, gain +1 damage for making them all random.
Cinderstorm is only ever so slightly weaker from a mana efficiency standpoint (in that the price for that 1 extra mana is higher by +2 damage becoming random), however from a value/card standpoint it is greater. Therefore it is a about the same overall power as Arcane Missles. Likewise for Avenging Wrath.
This obviously has a place in odd mage because you can't play frostbolt or fireball or meteor etc, so if you're playing the odd mage deck you need to run something like this, probably won't be used in other mage decks though as there is much better removal.

I agree on your pricing, however I believe most people are saying the card is bad because random missiles don't do much in the current meta. 5 missiles (6 with 1 spell damage) will on average do around 3-4 damage to minions on a board with 3 minions, which is decent if they are 1/1 divine shield, but worthless against 1/3 s or higher. So if a meta exists where small tokens are good than this will be a good choice, but against anything midrange or slower I'm just not seeing it.
Let me be clear. This card is not a STRONG card. Definitely not on its own. But it is comparable to other cards which have seen some play from time to time. Therefore with the right meta and/or synergies it might see play.

Actually the early game costing of direct removal is

Actually the early game costing of direct removal is
3 mana-4 damage Shadow BoltWing Blast(I know it costs 4 but it's over costed cause it can get a discount)
The thing is that this card is better than it seems though.. and it will be a surprise to a lot of people when this card see play.
This proves my point more than anything since you did not include the value of the card itself in any of these. I argued the value of a card was worth 1 damage (moonfire). Each of these cards follows my valuation method perfectly. 1 damage per mana + 1 damage as a card.

Kobolds are almost as bad as goblins, they gotta die (⌐■_■)–︻╦╤─
Wow, people don't know how to value cards:
Arcane Missles - 1 mana, 1 card, - 3 random damage - 1 mana is worth about 1 damage, 1 card is worth 1 damage (Moonfire), gain +1 damage for making all of them random.
Cinderstorm - 3 mana, 1 card, - 5 random damage - 3 mana is worth about 3 damage, 1 card is worth 1 damage, gain +1 damage for making them all random.

Worst part about this card is that it would probably hands down be the best anti-aggro card in the entire game if it only targeted minions.
Hey all F2P players out there! Try out my 100% free deck before trying to call this game pay to win!!!
If you're playing odd mage, Arcane Missiles + Ping is strictly better than this card. Not to mention more versatile.
Except on turns 7+, but that's when life is easy for mages anyway.
It being at random really hurts the card. Not sure if it will find a home or not, something tells me no.
First card that I can convincingly call dust
Fuck cubelock
Cinderdust
i could see some spellpower burst decks but mehhhh af
3 mana, deal on average 2.5 damage to a single target... what? This has to deal at the very least 7 damage to be even worth considering.
