It's obviously a powerful card that is in a lot of top decks, so if you play those decks, you'll probably have an easier time on ladder. Whether you enjoy those games is subjective. One thing to keep in mind is that although Patches is still in a lot of decks (mainly Keleseth ones), there's a lot of Golakka Crawlers around too. I run two in almost every deck to counter the prevalence of Pirates.
Maybe you should talk to your therapist before crafting cards.
Well, sorry to hear that. Just wanted to share what I feel. It's just I'm not that kind of player who doesn't care about anything in game and just plays for fun. I would like to play games which would make me feel something, like watching a quality movie. In addition, I'm that person who never skips any cutscenes and reads everthing in a game. And for hearthstone, I include some cards in my decks which don't help me to win the game at all, but I put them in my decks just because I like their art, the way they sound, their animation or they have a fun mechanic. The reason why I feel bad about using this card is I want hearthstone to be a strategic game which makes people to think. I never liked aggro gamestyle which almost destroys the strategic part of the game; and because of this, I didn't crafted patches (untill now) or played an aggro deck ever. But most of the decks include this card and win. And yes, I know that you don't have to have this card in order to climb the ladder, but if it's not this card, you are going to need many other legendaries which I can't craft all of them because I'm a "free-to-play" player. So I think it's like either craft 1 legendary and play broken decks, or craft 3-4 legendaries and use them in more specific decks to win.

Memes and whine talk aside. Aggro is a legit strategy. Considering it being less strategic means you didn't understand key mechanics, ideas and concepts of a card game. It is a legit part of the meta, because having no aggro wouldn't keep certain decks in check. You play for fun and prefer cards you enjoy. That's good. You don't like Patches. Fair enough. Why craft him then? Want us to make you feel better? HS is a computer game. Why bother so much.
but in all honesty I would never invest a big portion of my dust just for a 0 mana 1/1 charge boar, which will rotate in 5 months from now. I hope you get satisfied with your purchase, while you still can.
I just crafted Patches because I wanted to get higher ranks, but I feel really bad about it. I feel like I'm turning into one of those cancerogenic players, losing my dignity.
Thoughts?
Shame on you for not crafting Patches sooner! Welcome to the dark side. :)
Crafted him day 1 MSoG came out as the card was obviously busted.
It's best not to be a snob about parts of the game. Decks and cards will be OP/annoying but you only make it worse for yourself if you refuse to play those decks/cards.
I did the same to complete my fast zoolock deck. Currently I'm 8-0 and climbing fast. 6 out of 8 games I hadn't even drawn kele. The early game power of Patches is nuts in fast decks like zoolock. I feel kinda bad too but I've been on the receiving end of the pirate package for almost a year now.
