posted a message on Tips for transition to wild?

Don't need to buy packs of old sets. Use dust. Many strong wild decks only use a small number of cards from old sets.

Wait: I just reread your post. You have NO cards from any expansion? Even the new ones. Sounds like you are just starting hearthstone full-stop. I guess wild casual mode is often 'easier' than standard casual mode as half the people are just playing 30 murlocs or similar.

posted a message on Game Economy suggestions

Surprised at how strongly people are defending blizzard's right to charge like a wounded bull.

Sure, the OP's suggestions are unfeasible. But hearthstone is definitely not a cheap game (whether you pay in time or money).

Definitely elements around the use of loot boxes with non owned virtual assets that are questionable. This is true for most 'free to play' games however.

posted a message on Brand New total Noob

Yeah agree with the above. Face hunter is the cheapest deck that can be successfully pilot to high ranks.

Honourable mention for the Galakaron decks. Since galakrond is free, only 2 epics per class are needed (plus a legendary that is shared between all 5 decks). Especially for the warlock version. But still more expensive than face hunter.

A piece of advice is be patient and learn how to substitute cards. Almost any deck recipe will require cards you do not have, but often another card will be almost as good. So look for cards that will perform a similar purpose to the card being replaced. Also try to look at what the core strategy of a deck is, as some cards will not be replacable.

posted a message on Is it time to revert nerfed Wild cards?

No. It is mostly a dumb idea to revert nerfs. Many nerfs were for good reason.

Even some of the individual examples of cards people in this thread would like unnerfed are pretty toxic. Yet alone all the nerfs not considered.

The vicious syndicate report is released tomorrow. So that should give a more accurate picture about what decks are likely to remain viable (till the adventure is released in a month or whatever).

Community is just too impatient as usual.

Like we get nerfs after A WEEK, and they still complain.

The nerfs were not adequate, and I think you haven't been paying attention to how the meta has developed, the game is seriously unbalanced and needs a BIG retuning to be respectable again, which didn't come close to happening with the nerfs.  But sure, go all toxic poster and say it's just impatience and complaining, which is in essence the most basic and simple opinion to have.

     Are you a game designer?

The nerfs have been live for two days now. Someone actually needs to make these. With so little time to test anything it was clear they couldn't make big changes. You know there is work behind everything.

Do you know what the most simple way of thinking is? To expect to get everything served on a silver plate.

Just a some years ago it was the norm that there was just one patch a month at max for any game. And before that regular patching was more than uncommon.

Blizzard is actually among the first companies to provide years-long support for their games.

It just comes off as impatient. Like no matter what, Blizzard couldn't have done anything in such short time.

You're white knighting blizzard. You are also not a game designer so how do you know what they can and cannot do in a short period of time. And even if you want to disregard that completely, blizzard starts working in expansion LONG before they go live. You tell me how the interaction between galakrond and shudderwok wasn't apparently overpowered? There was an insurmountable amount of time to correct that.

And you better not respond with the rotation crap. That is not an excuse at all. "Yeah it will be overpowered for 4 months but don't worry because it will rotate." People always say stupid crap like that as if 4 months is a short amount of time. It's a LONG time for something poisonous in the game to exist. The only part in which I agree with you is people freak out to early about certain things, especially on hearthpwn. But there's no counter argument, not a single one that I've heard, between shudderwok and galakronds interaction convincing me it's not broken.

I want you to imagine something. Imagine shudderwok was a spell and didn't have its own 6/6 body. A 9 mana spell that read "summon two 8/8 elementals with rush and equip an arcanite reaper." You realize how broken that alone is? Now add another 6/6 AND all other battle cries on top. Yeah, help me understand how the gun is being jumped on that.

He's not. Shaman's winrate dropped with 4%, and is now the third best class, as opposed to the best class. The point of nerfs is not to destroy a class completely, it's to dial it back. And they did just that. These were good nerfs, and Shaman has a lot of good counters now. By the way, that's how the meta works. Decks spawn to compete with the best deck, even specifically counter it. By nerfing said best deck, it opens up the meta for other decks, which will also spawn other decks again.

Look at data before jumping conclusions based on your personal sentiment and experience on ladder. Yes, Shaman still has huge power spikes, but what about Ancharr in Pirate Warrior? Or Necrium Apothecary in Rogue? Or Toxic Reinforcements in Hunter? Or the 18 burst Malygos Handlock can do? Or Luna's Pocket Galaxy on curve in Mage? The game has a lot of strong decks right now, and I for one, am loving the variety on ladder currently.

Except a deck doesn't have to be the #1 deck to be cancerous. If it's existence and play style prevents a good majority of decks from being playable, that is cancerous. You basically just said that slowing shaman down made it so aggro destroys it, and thus it is fine. Shaman in its current iteration still prevents many decks from being playable, and I should have to play aggro to deal with it. Or high roll as rogue.

And that's another thing, using an evil to pardon another. I hate the rogue deck. Not because it's overpowered or not counterable, but because it is the worst type of deck that can exist, a highroll one. The games go only one of two ways if you're not playing hyper aggro. They destroy you, or you destroy them.

Shaman is winning less so the number of people playing it will reduce. So you will see it less on ladder play. This will make it less of a problem for the decks it can still beat.

posted a message on Should i dust my golden kingsbane ?

Yes dust it, you can always get a new kingsbane at a later date for 1600 dust, so nothing lost except cosmetics...

    but...

Don't do it till you need need to use the dust to make a deck. Definitely not 2 days before a new expansion lands.

Don't think I will play it lots in the long run.

    But that is ok.

Having an extra play mode option gives variety for when constructed mode gets stale each season.

posted a message on Is Rogue quest too easy?

Variance on when the quest gets completed is really high. With a god hand it can complete turn 2 (weapon equipped turn 3) - which is really strong.

But the average turn for quest completion is probably turn 7 or 8. Which is too late.

posted a message on Should I disenchant my Wild cards (Hall of Fame included)

    Don't do it.

You might be better off being a primarily wild player until your collection fills out a bit. Wild decks change less from season to season so can be more economical for players with old sets.

posted a message on Get "free legendaries" from unused extra cards you may have
    Quote from vNihilism >>

Oh my gosh dood how did I never think of disenchanting my extra cards??? :0

I would advise against this. Save your extra cards that are likely to be nerfed or Hall of Famed in the future. This strategy has actually netted me a "free legendary" worth of dust in just one patch before.

But given the OP had almost 20k dust locked up in extras. It is costing you a fair amount in dust that is unavailable for use. So at the most I would keep only cards that are possible nerf candidates.

posted a message on Zepherys missed easy lethal!

Definitely has some randomness. A couple of times now bloodlust would have been lethal for me, and it has not given bloodlust as an option despite having 5 mana available (note: both times taunts were involved and I was given silence effects so there is probably a pattern I do not see yet).
